The entire body is covered with a Mythological Scene comprised of women and men in festive spirits along with cherubs/putti at play. Antique Victorian 19th Century Irish Ceramic Tankard Mug Lovers& Cows One of three large mugs or tankards found in County Cork in the 1980s. This one has a lovers and cows in a field with sky and clouds. This mug also unusually has a repeated acanthus shape decoration inside the rim. I believe looking at other mugs and the shape of the base. Handles and decoration, although similar to, it is not Belleek which is usually marked as such. It is from the mid to late 19th century. As mug isn't marked and i'm not a ceramics expert, please make your own mind up from the photos and let me know if you have any idea which of the smaller Irish potteries it may have been made by! This lovely mug stands some 4 7/8 inches tall. The handle is blue. As are the 2 pairs of bands, which have a vertical ridge design in between the bands of both pairs. The base is marked"B&D No. 2" Not marked as such, but a similar- but later- one also has a"Germany" mark, so this one is also German. There is a stain on the inside bottom. Hand-painted Victorian mugs were created for many occasions such as christenings. Births, weddings, holidays, and decorated as remembrance pieces. Shaving mug collectors have often added them to their related displays. Such mugs usually spent a great many years as cabinet pieces, seldom leaving the shelf and always protected. Signed"GK" monogram in the mold(under the base of the handle) The stein is tan clay with a clear glaze. The stein dates to circa 1880. There is a hole in the handle suitable for attaching a lid, but there is no sign of there having ever been a lid present.Note: this is a trick stein- you can look like the big man drinking from this big stein, but actual floor of the stein is halfway up the side, so it only holds about a cup! The artist hand decorates this scarce mug in a portrait of fruit and greenery.see pics) There are some gilt embellishment to accent this fine mug. The lid has a pleasant circular floral decoration. It measures approx 6" tall. It carries the blue Kuznetov Imperial product symbol. It is in lovely condition,with a factory flaw in the recess of the handle. PAIR SMALL BLACK STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFERWARE MUGS - MID 19TH CENTURY
Both mugs are 2 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" in diameter. They are unmarked. And in very good condition for their age which I believe to be mid 19th century. Both have gold trim around the top and bottom as well as on the applied handles. The first pictures a solitary figure walking towards a small country home with smoke rising from its chimney. The traveler is using a walking stick and has a bag over his shoulder. There is some wear to the gold around the bottom, and there is a glaze scratch or straw mark inside on the bottom of the cup. It does not go through to the outside of the cup. The second mug has a picture of a large English manor in the distance. It has 2 very small. Pinpoint nicks on the bottom rim about 1/16th of an inch which may be bubble pop or marks from the kiln stilt, but could be a nick. There is almost no wear to the ... moregold trim. Antique hand painted fishing shaving cup mug 1849 19th century
This hand painted shaving mug depicts two scenes. One scene has a man carrying a fishing pole and the other has a man fishing by a lake. The shaving cup is 3 7/8 inches tall and 3 7/8 inches in diameter not including the handle. The shaving mug has writing in gold on one side. It looks like it says John Narlin or Marlin and then Born Dec. 22. 1849. The cup is unmarked on the bottom. The cup has some loss to the gilding but no chips, cracks or repairs.

Lusterware Mug 19th Century "house" pattern
This auction is for an Antique Lusterware MUG- This stands a little under 3 71/2" tall- and about 4" in diameter It features the 19th century house pattern. It is not marked on the bottom. But I believe it was made in England. You can't necessarily tell in the photos. But the image of the house is also shiny. The inside is painted brown- see photo's The mug is in good condition. And they were designed by a professor Behrendt from Berlin. Likely this at one time had a pewter lid. The interior is unglazed. From the second half of the 19th century. Antique 19th Century Set of 6 Pewter Tankard Measures. I believe the set to be complete and original to each other- with matching(unknown) touchmarks. I believe the crown means that it was made in Sheffield Set shows age. Use and wear. Metal has marks, scratches, discoloration, worn edges, pressed areas, worn detail, and bent edges. 1 quart. 1 Pint, 1/2 pint, 1 gill, 1/2 gill, 1/4 quarter gill. All in very good condition. The pint tankard has 2 pronounced dents. But everything else is very good if not better condition.
