Beautiful antique 19th century American textile: loom-woven wool rag rug with fringes. Sturdy. Extremely well made, rich texture, and gorgeous design. ... moreIt measures approx 2'10" x 6 feet(34 x 72 inches) Not including the 2.5 inch fringe on either side. Weighs almost 5 lbs. Photos taken outside in cloudy afternoon light. Looks fabulous! A bit of wear. A few spots, and some of the blue wool rags shows small holes(2nd last photo) No repairs. There are loose black threads throughout, used to sew the rags into strips for weaving. There are less on the side that seems to have been up; likely the threads came off through use. But the rug shows little use- looks wonderful! This rug came out of a VERY dusty old attic, and really needs cleaning. That attic held many other long-forgotten antique hooked and rag rugs. Antique 19th Century Handpainted Victorian "Christmas Present" Mug dated 1869
Hand-painted Victorian mugs were created for many occasions such as christenings. Births, weddings, holidays, and decorated as remembrance pieces. Shaving mug collectors have often added them to their related displays. Such mugs usually spent a great many years as cabinet pieces, seldom leaving the shelf and always protected. This one has beautiful gold hand-painted script reading"A Christmas Present to Miss Hannah Ashworth, Aged 23 years 1869" and delicate scrolls. The flowers are quite detailed. I always hope that items like this will find their way back to the family or city of origin. but. I am a silly old romantic. Examine the photos and bid with confidence; it will be packed carefully using a new, sturdy carton.

Very Scarce 19th Century Kuznetov Imperial Russian Lidded Mug
This auction is for a very scarce late 19th century Imperial Russian Kuznetov lidded mug. This fine piece was purchased from a prominent Washington DC estate. The artist hand decorates this scarce mug in a portrait of fruit and greenery.see pics) There are some gilt embellishment to accent this fine mug. The lid has a pleasant circular floral decoration. It measures approx 6" tall. It carries the blue Kuznetov Imperial product symbol. It is in lovely condition, with a factory flaw in the recess of the handle. There is the smallest hairline that follows it on the left side, but stops at the main profile of the handle. I show both sides,as there is NO hairline on the other, right)side. The handle is wonderfully sturdy without structual issues, and has been that way for over 110 years atleast! Also the original lid does not have a precision ... morefit. This is not uncommon with early Russian pieces. This is a hard-to-find and will truly to be a great addition to your Kuznetov Imperial Russian porcelain collection/fine decor. Please check my other auctions for more antiques and collectibles. I am happy to combine shipping to save you $$$! PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE A LOW FEEDBACK COUNT. This is a NO reserve auction. So please bid away! Buyer is to pay within 3 days of the end of this auction. U.S.A Buyer's should also include $8.95 towards shipping costs. PAIR SMALL BLACK STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFERWARE MUGS - MID 19TH CENTURY
Both mugs are 2 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" in diameter. They are unmarked. And in very good condition for their age which I believe to be mid 19th century. Both have gold trim around the top and bottom as well as on the applied handles. The first pictures a solitary figure walking towards a small country home with smoke rising from its chimney. The traveler is using a walking stick and has a bag over his shoulder. There is some wear to the gold around the bottom, and there is a glaze scratch or straw mark inside on the bottom of the cup. It does not go through to the outside of the cup. The second mug has a picture of a large English manor in the distance. It has 2 very small. Pinpoint nicks on the bottom rim about 1/16th of an inch which may be bubble pop or marks from the kiln stilt, but could be a nick. There is almost no wear to the ... moregold trim. Please examine the pictures carefully as they are part of our description.
