They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. The six cabriole legs are carved, the legs and trim in the original ivory enamel paint. It has a matching finish chair, new upholstery. The desk measures 30" tall by 43" wide 19" deep. From bottom of center drawer to floor is 23" tall, the kneehole 16" wide from leg to opposite leg. The chair is 35" tall by 16" wide by 17" deep. I have seen an exact desk that was made by Heywood Wakefield that had a metal tag on the back. This one no longer has the tag. Measures 38" Wide ~ 22" Deep Height of desk top is 30" Height of desk including wicker desktop holder is about 38" Has a working wood drawer on front. As you can see in the photos it does have some damage on the front left leg near the bottom. There is broken wrap and some is missing. The back two legs are in good condition. Vintage MCM Vanity This is a vintage Mid-Century Modern vanity. We believe it is composed wood with a light or blonde colored walnut. But are unable to say with complete certainty. It is marked"Wal. on the back. The 2 pedestals of the desk each feature a set of 3 drawers with fantastic MCM brass-plated pulls. The drawers are composed of solid wood and have sturdy, dovetail construction. There is also a center drawer above the knee-hole with a curved face. There is a piece of plate glass covering the center surface. We found one small chip on the front, under-surface of the glass. The vanity has the following dimensions: Height: With mirror: 66 1/4" Vanity alone: 38" Width: 48 3/8" Depth: 19" Specifics: Height to the top of the center surface: 25 1/4" Height to the top of the side surfaces: 26 1/16" Mirror: ... more40" tall by 38" wide Kneehole: 19 7/8" tall by 21 3/8" wide Center surface(where glass sits) 21" wide by 17" at the deepest point Drawers: All of the pedestal drawers are 9 7/8" wide by 15 3/4" deep. The height of each drawer. Starting with the top and moving down is: 5" 6" 7 1/4" This is in great condition overall with some general signs of age or use. The veneer surface has a slightly bumpy or crackled finish. We are not sure if this is an intentional or if it has become this way with age. There is a large chip on each of the top corners corners of the mirror. We also found paint down one side of the mirror where someone painted the wall without moving the vanity. There is also a drip of paint on the bottom/front of the left door frame. There are some red crayon marks on the interior of the center drawer. We found a few small chips on the veneered corners.
