It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

Very nice solid mahogany Chippendale Governor Winthrop desk/secretary. Wonderfully constructed desk with very clean lines and detail. You see similar desks often and this one is so so much better! Solid wood even the lattice work in the upper doors. Check out the interior it is spectacular also. The finial in the center of the broken arched top is fine. Just all details are spot on. It has very little of it left but there is a John Widdicomb paper tag on the back and explains the quality. I date this circa 1920-30 at best.
