Condition: Used Location: Novato, United States I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite ... morelike it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

This listing is for a Fantastic Chippendale Style walnut( I think and am not 100% sure) and fancily veneered vintage Drop Front Secretary Desk with Ball and claw Feet and shell style carvings. 36 inches in overall height. About 16 inches overall depth at widest point of legs and 22 inches overall width again at widest point of legs. Brass lock and hardware but no key. Brass hinges and other hardware. Exotic veneer work. Two drawers. With hardware on one drawer broken and missing in part. Should not be very tough to find replacement hardware. I might be able to assist the buyer in doing so. Drop down door reveals a writing surface roughly 19 inches wide and 14 inches in depth with two drawers and 5 compartments worked in the back. Very elegant. When desk is closed there appears to be what looks like a surface burn mark which I am not sure if it actually is a surface burn mark or part of the grain as no damage can be observed under magnification. Tiger Oak Mission Style Drop Down Desk Quarter Sewn
This beautiful desk is made out of oak wood. Tiger oak wood, quarter sawn and is in solid, good original condition. This wonderful secretary style desk has a light/medium oak stain finish color, and it has a pull-down front with a drawer and shelving inside the top section, see pictures. Dove-tailed drawer with wood handles on the outside, see pictures, and the drawer is working properly. This is a high-quality piece with an elegant mission/arts and crafts style design. The condition is very good for it's age but there are some aging imperfections with a small dark spot on the top, and some on the bottom shelf and a couple inside. Also some sort of small circle outline near the top key hole. It looks like the front drop down is made in two pieces and there is a small separation of the two in an area. The interior has an olive green enamel cubbyhole with two drawers, the writing frame has satinwood veneer, and green leather pad. There is a drawer with maple knobs. The tapered square legs and skirt are maple. It measures 38-1/2" tall by 26-3/4" wide by 16-1/4" deep, the drop front down is 27" from the floor. The pad is 21-1/4" by 7-1/2" Includes the lock and key. Excellent condition: all solids and veneers without chips or cracks, original finish not scratched, no ring spots. EarlyAntique Mission Style Tiger Oak Drop Front Desk very nice condition
This desk dates back to the early 1900's. It measures 32-1/2" wide x 39" tall(to the flat top of the desk) x 15" deep. It has a little paint splatter on the top and one side but you should be able to get it off. It does not have a key. It is missing one knob and the door won't stay closed on one of the bottom cubby holes. It is in very good condition and is a solid piece. It does not wobble and the tiger oak grain is very nice. Turn of the Century 2-Drawer Drop Leaf Mahogany Desk by Brandt of Hagerstown. MD- Since 1901. The desk is in the Duncan Phyfe style with Brass Claw Caps on the 4 curved legs. The desk top is supported by 2 harp shaped pieces. Connected by 2 interior carved wood rods. The harps were intricately crafted with individual dowels replicating strings; all connected at the base and near the top, with the dowels extending further at different lengths. Above are 2 working interior drawers with 2 pulls each and a working key/lock; pulls have formed Acanthus leaf detailing. The drawer fronts are framed in a rectangular inlay pattern. The desk top has been repaired on the lower left side; there is some cosmetic wear to the surface; and wear to the veneer side trim; all pictured. The drop leafs are supported by a swing door that is stored in the side of ... morethe desk when not being used. The leaves extend the desk top space by 12 inches in length on both sides; with carved scalloped edges. The rectangular desk top and irregular drop leafs are all framed in a wood inlay. Due to the age of the desk(early 1900's) the condition of the wood with the cosmetic wear is minor. The desk is still in excellent structural condition; desk swings slightly on the sides when moved. This is an excellent Duncan Phyfe Style Period Desk/Writing Desk from Brandt of Hagerstown. MD. There is not much attainable history on this company but there are not many manufactured pieces available for sale, especially this style desk. The desk top has been repaired but can still be used as a flat writing surface. The wood still has a rich medium mahogany wood tone and sheen. The desk has an oval shaped metal Stamp on the interior of the right drawer, and a small round stamp on the rear side of the desk near the leaf support. This is fully ready to go right into your home. Every part of this desk is functioning as it should; no sticky drawers. Squeaks, loose hinges, etc. It is made of brown walnut or mahogany and there are oak sides on the drawers. The old time quality that is rarely seen today. This desk has support arms for the drop front and comes with a high intensity halogen lamp for the work area and two extra bulbs.
