They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. Here we have a wonderful set of furniture we've tastefully grouped from our current inventory. The lot includes a 1940s Sit-Rite Desk Chair. A hand made work bench/ desk refinished by our staff, and a grey Faries desk lamp. This set of furniture would be perfect for furnishing a foyer, hall, or small office. The items all have great patina from age and look great together. The all wood Sit-Rite chair has great charm and warmth. The bottom of the seat is stamped"SIT-RITE EDWARD L. KOENIG MFG. CHICAGO. ILL" in green ink. There are bolts for adjusting the back protrusion, back height, and seat height. The seat can be adjusted between 17 1/4 in. 27 1/4 in. in 1 in. increments. The chair has a 13 ¼ in. x 15 3/4 in. foot print. Antique Oak Desk and Matching Chair For Sale. The desk measures 47" long.30" tall and 26" wide.The chair slides under it. There are 2 wide drawers on top and 3 drawers on the side. The second drawer needs some repair work done on it. Has some damage inside. The back of the desk has a splintered piece.See picture. This is nothing major. The repairs are minimum and we used it just find without fixing it. We never used the drawer and the issue in back no one could see. There are a few little nicks or dings on the top of the desk just from normal use.all in all in very good condition. Please see all the pictures and enlarge them. A library set includes a table or writing desk, triple bookcase, open bookcase and two leather armchairs. Desk and low bookcase tops have been revarnished for durability. Bases have their original finish in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm antique patina. Classical fluted motifs are understated on this furniture from Europe. The desk has a banded top and two drawers with hand cut dovetail joints and original working locks and escutcheons. Measurements are 59" long. 30" deep, 31" tall and legroom is 24 1/2" underneath. Three doors on the large bookcase have glass panes and original working locks and hardware. Mid Century Modern HELIOLITHE France! Architect Desk/Lamp/Chair Set
This is a trifecta of Mid-Century Modern beautiful. Sleek and functional furniture. An architect's drafting table with a seafoam blue-green metal base( by Heliolithe. Paris-Lyon) with original lamp and work chair circa 1940s-1950s. All in very nice condition. The height/tilt of the desk is adjustable to multiple positions with a weight and a brake pedal. Original metal tray for pens/drafting tools underneath the lip of the desk. The moveable slat of wood on the desktop works with a metal weight-and-wire pulley system suspended around the desk edges. Once purchase has been made I will have these pieces professionally refinished so that you can pick them up in amazing condition as they have been used in an office setting on a regular basis since their production. There is no Stow Davis sign on the pieces but they are solid wood and it matches look of the leather top desk so I am 99% sure it was produced by them. My landlord sold me these pieces and he did say that it was a $5.000 set. Antique German Bookcase and Desk Match Set
Recently arrived from Germany! A matching desk and bookcase with beautiful carvings. Desk is a free standing one with decorative carvings all around. Built between 1925 and 1945. This set would look great in a home office. The desk lower cavities have been modified to hold hanging files, very sturdily done and can be taken out with only minor holes inside the desk. The desk itself is one piece, a hefty antique with great lions feet. Desk is 5'6" wide, 3' deep while the bookcase is 6'1" tall, 21" deep at the base and a massive 8'10" wide! Thankfully the bookcase disassembles for easy transport and assembly. The shelves inside are adjustable to fit taller books and the middle can be used to display books or items visible through the original beveled glass.
