The spine is stamped'LADY'S COMPANION' in gold letters and is enhanced with birds above and below the lettering. The top lifts off& fits nicely on the bottom hal f. Inside lid is lined in a pink paper with gold stamped stars design. The bottom section is a burgundy leather with fitted burgundy velvet lined compartments for the various tools. I bought this lady's antique watch fob several years ago. And have just decided to part with it. It is beautiful Art Nouveau, and it says Patented 1904 on the clip, and 10K on the fob. I can't read the other marks, so if anyone can, and would let me know what they mean, I would be happy to know. I don't know what the little mark in the middle of the decorated side means. It is engraved on the other side. A very pretty piece, and is complete and in excellent condition on the grosgrain ribbon. The fob decoration measures about 1" across. Antique Gold Filled Ladys Brooch; Found Or Dug Near Santa Fe Trail Trinidad Co.
This is an antique ladys brooch that was found or dug near a section of the old Santa Fe Trail in the historic town of Trinidad. Colorado. The brooch is 1 1/2" diameter and weighs 8.7 grams. The brooch consists of a twisting wide ribbon with another fancy& finely designed intertwining octogonal or 9 sided piece wrapping itself around the ribbon. The photos hopefully will show this better than I can explain it. The wider ribbon shows allover tiny oxidation dots or light brown areas that have speckled the gold color surface here. The intertwining fancy 9 sided piece does not show any dotted oxidation. In this piece there is a place where the ends can be seen as they don't quite come together. Looking at these two ends one can see a thin gold layer atop the underlying base metal. This thin bright gold layer goes all around this ... moresection and has a design that looks like very small upright lines next to each other all around and on each of the 9 sided segments. This is the gold filled part of the brooch. I believe that the wider section is brass or copper and plated over. When the two twisted sections come in contact with each other I can see several small places where green oxidation under the twisting areas have occurred. This green oxidation would come from the brass or copper base of the ribbon segment. Looking at the brooch itself it appears overall gold in color and not green. The pin latch works as it should to hold the pin in place. There is a little no harm bend in the pin. One thing that is very interesting to me is that the base of the pin closure has hand worked file or fitting marks that can be seen with magnification. There may be some gold in this bright gold pin closure piece but its untested. There are no broken or repaired pieces in this brooch. The brooch has no markings as to maker or metal content. 1884 New Orleans World's Fair Antique Stoneware Mug: Incised Ladys name, Dated
This is an old stoneware mug that was made for a woman during"THe World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition' which took place in New Orleans. La. 1884. This event was also called the 1884 New Orleans World's Fair, The World Cotton Centennial and the World Cotton Exposition. This type of stoneware may be called salt glazed as the finish is shiny but I'm not an expert on this. The mug was hand made and you can tell this by seeing the concentric circles inside the mug in a couple of photos. This was not a commercially mass produced product like older blue and white stoneware is. The mug itself is incised'Mrs + K + Millemann' Below that is the word'Centennial' and on a third line the year'1884' These letters are unevenly incised by hand and are lined up evenly with each other. I have not ... morebeen able to find out who Mrs Millemann was perhaps a Fair attendant. This fair did have a Women's Dept. at the Exposition with some rather well known northern ladies attending among them was Julia Ward Howe, a northwern abolitionist and suffragist, Susan B. Anthony, and Francis Willard. This may have Chagrined some of the hometown New Orleans women but they blended together to study women's issues and natioinal causes. Some more progressive issues for women came to the surface at this time. THe fair was named Centennial because in 1784 cotton was first exported to Europe from the New Orleans area. So 1884 was 100 years. The fair had real good attendance but at the end was badly in the red. The state treasurer had ran off(absconded) with 1.3 million dollars which was fair money in grants, loans, or other cash some federal and some state funds. A second fair was tried but it badly failed also. Finally the fair buildings had to be torn down and sold for scrap metal. I believe these facts are correct about the New Orleans 1884 World's Fair. This watch does not work all parts seam to be intact This is a very very pretty watch. The case is marked 10co K Belais 18k P.s. 5092 the face of the watch is marked Swiss And by the gears is marked 10co watch co. Premier Two 2 adj 17 jewels With a mark that has a 16 in it and under that mark says Swiss. I was told that the 2 diamonds and 4 sapphires that surround the face are real and the winder also has a sapphire that is real. This watch is believed to be from the 1920's, belais was the first to experiment with 18k gold. The band however only says Hadley pat pend. Items are as is no returns! Near Limoges. It really is beautifully hand made in white net with a deep rim and tiny pleats forming a pattern around the crown. There are two long tapes to tie at under the chin. And there is a rounded shape at the back of the head to give plenty of room to keep the hair in place. It is such a pretty bonnet with hours of work taken to make it so special. It measures 10 inches or 26 cms from nape of neck to front of crown. Excluding the rim. The circumference is adjustable by sliding the tapes out on the neckline. The bow tapes are around 35 inches long. The condition is very good for an item of this age- the net is still ... morein good condition and quite white. Antique 1970s hi-top ladys shoes PRICE REDUCED!!!
Wonderful antique circa 1970 hi-top lady's shoes. Label inside"Sbicca" size"M" Measurements: 10" along outside side of foot. 3 1/2" width of bottom of mid-sole, 9" high from heel sole to top of ankle. Tongue is attached on one side and left unsewn on the other for ease of inserting foot.There are 6 brass rings on each side for lacing. Soles are in good condition, but the heels are worn, as seen in photo. They would be perfect for story telling, photos, historic displays. Selling as is. I do not accept returns or give refunds. The top with framed leather writing surface lifts up to reveal more cubbyhole drawers and compartment for papers. The front supports are carved as mythical pelicans pecking their breasts for their young to feed. The base stretchers have feet carved as Indian elephant heads. This is definitely a handmade piece which has some age to it. Based on its looks. I believe it's from the late 1800's although it could be much older. A very wonderful antique. Circa 1870's, French, Napoleon III, lady's writing desk with doored bookcase. Two piece construction, finished all around, on four cabriole legs. The piece has ebonized wood, inlaid on front with burl walnut panels, bordered in tulipwood, brass, and mother of pearl flowers. It is mounted in classical Louis XVI style ormolu brasses. The bookcase crest has a mounted porcelain pate-sur-pate plaque of cupid on celadon ground, the bookcase doors with similar oval plaques of Grecian lady. The bookcase has pate-sur-pate column corners. The interior of the doors have satinwood panels, mahogany shelf and interior surface, with stationary shelf. Includes the lock, escutcheans, and key. The desk has a fold over hinged writing frame with satinwood, the writing surface the original worn purple velvet. The desk drawer ... morehas an ormolu brass mount laurel thophy. The drawer interior is mahogany. The four legs have upper and bootie ormolu mounts. The furniture measures 58" tall by 31" wide by 18-1/2" deep. Antique Victorian Ladys DRESS COLLAR ~ Burgundy Silk / Beading / Pleated Ruffles
This is an antique ruffled and beaded collar that came off of probably a lady's blouse or dress. It is in burgundy silk with two beaded lace bands attached. The beading consists of sead beads and sequins. Some forming tiny florets. There is some damage where some of the beading has come off. The collar is approximately 16" long and still has the old hook and eye closure attached at the ends. It is 3" in width and you can see along the bottom edge where it had been attached to a piece from the now missing stitching. It is self faced with burlap interfacing for a stiffening agent. It has pleated ruffling. A nice piece to follow its example for a pattern or repair.or to just re-use the beads.or incorporate into some other upcycle craft project. It is brittle with age and is also quite yellowed and soiled. I was afraid to clean it because of it's fragile state. The reticule is lined and has ribbons for handles. This item is not offered as something that can be used. But rather as a collectible piece of antique clothing. It is 10 inches long. I recently found it at an estate auction where there were many items from the late 1800's.

Up for auction is this paring early whiskey bottles. Both are lady's leg bottles but with different designs. The shorter one stands 10 1/4" tall and has a great drip coming from the collar. It's is in great condition with light whittling on the body. There is a light scratch on the shoulder which shows in the light and a very shallow 1/4" burst bubble. It is an olive green/brown color. The tall one stands 12.5" tall. Has a kick up base, and has a forest/olive green color. It has several light scratches that show in the correct light, but no chips or cracks.
