LARGE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN TILE WOMAN & DOG WHIPPET
From the home of an avid antiques collector from England. This auction is for a large(12 1/2" by 7" tile which has a formal picture of a stately Victorian Woman standing next to a table upon which is her dog. The dog, I would say, is a Whippet. The tile has a nice, even glaze. The lace trim embellishment on the woman's attire appears to have been hand-painted afterwords and is on top of the glaze. The tile is in great vintage condition and was priced at 75 pounds(equivalent to approximately $120 US dollars) on a paper sticker on the back, which, unfortunately, I removed and discarded when I bought it. Rare Antique Victorian 19th C Ornate Brass or Bronze Tray Painted Bird Tile Old
19th Century Brass or Bronze Footed Tray with Hand-Painted Bird Tile I recently found this Rare Museum Quality piece stored away in the attic of an old Boston. MA Estate. This is a Superb 19th Century piece for the serious collector. I am not an expert on antique tiles or trays. So please view the photos provided as they will give you an excellent view of the condition and style of this piece. The tray measures approximately 11 3/16" Long(handle to handle) x 8 5/16" wide x 2" high(bottom of foot to top of handle) I believe the metal is brass. But it could be bronze. The metal retains it's fine original patina. Each handle on this highly ornate tray appears to be composed of two merging serpents or long necked birds(please see photos) The border of the tray features rope patterns and intertwined leaves/vines. There are four ... moreclawed feet. One on each corner of the tray. The tile is exquisite. Although I'm not certain about this. It may have an Asian Aesthetic. The colors are vivid and the quality of the hand-painted image is amazing. I tried to show the tile under various lighting conditions. The third photo. Where it's being held in front of a wall most accurately shows the colors under normal lighting conditions. The blue. Green, yellow and white bird contrast nicely with the incredible pink background. I'm not sure what kind of colorful bird is depicted on the tile, perhaps it's a type of finch or bird in the parakeet family? Condition: Excellent Original condition. The tile is in great shape showing just a few minor surface marks. This is a substantial tray. Weighing nearly 4 Lbs. The tile is held in place by the thin brass/bronze sheet covering the back(please see photos) There is a small screw securing each foot from the back and a small screw securing all four corners of the metal backing. Two of the screws are slightly larger and one has a small washer underneath it. Judging by the patina. All of the hardware appears to be original to the time period it was created. If you

This tile comes from the G K BEAULAH tiles sale at Bonhams on 25th January 1995. It has the original sticker for the sale on the front for lot no 207. On the rear. It has the Beaulah catalogue number: T.257 Ken Beaulah was author of Church Tiles of the C19th and a founder member of the Tiles and Architectural Ceramic Society. He began collecting whilst still at school in York. His collection of tiles was all meticulously accessioned. Photographed and documented in a two volume personal catalogue. This tile dates probably from the 1870s or 80s. It is beautifully glazed with about eight colours and is around 6 inches square. On the reverse. It is marked Minton and Co Stoke-on-Trent. There is a significant chip on the front which has been filled at some time in the past, see photo 4) but it is otherwise in good, used condition. This auction is for a pair of antique Art Nouveau tiles in beautiful wood frames. I bought this tiles here on ebay about 16 year ago from an australian seller and had them framed in a rich wine color wood frame.They no longer match my home decor so I decided it's time for them to go to a new home! Because of the way they're framed I can't tell who the maker is but I did some research and I know that one of them is by J& W Wade and Co They both have shallow raised relief in near mint condition with flea bite chips(see pictures) and crazing due to their age. Second to last picture shows some small orange/brown stains and last picture show a small dent on the wood frame. The tiles are about 6" x 6" and 8" x 8" with the frame. Gibson and Sons British Vintage Post-war Black and Gold Teapot
Extremely attractive delicate Celtic gold designs with hand gilded borders and geometric lines adorn this classic black British made Teapot. Octagonal shape is a full 6" diameter by 5" high to top of lid. 8 1/2" across spout to handle. Heavy glossy gilt handle and spout add to the luxurious charm of this pretty vintage piece. Deep rimmed lid to prevent lid"tipping off" and built-in strainer holes typical of high quality teapots. There is a tiny chip on the spout- see photo. Oh Be Still My Beating Heart. I managed to find FIVE matching antique wall tiles from Woodsworth. Each one measures 6"x6"x 1/2" Rich brown and cream color palette. With crackle effect. Each tile depicts a romantic Italianic scene. Glazing on each tile is still shiny and beautiful. One tile has a slight chip on the corner, but nothing major. UNUSUAL MINTON HOLLINS `CHINESE SCENES` SERIES. `CHINAMAN ON HORSEBACK` TILE
This tile was made by Minton Hollins. Stoke on Trent as part of a series of tiles showing Chinese Scenes. There were 4 tiles in the series with design numbers 92 to 95. This tile is No. 95 `Chinaman on horseback`. It is 6 inches square and is in good condition.There is a very tiny nibble about 1 inch up from the bottom left corner and another on the corner. These are very small. The back has the Minton Hollins marks.

This Art Nouveau tile has a pattern moulded in low relief to resemble tube lining. It is a typical Art Nouveau design of stylized swirling stem and flowers. It was made by Alfred Meakin. Stoke on Trent around 1900. The tile is 6 inches square, it is in good condition apart from overall light crazing and some very slight roughness on the top edge. The back has A.M.Ltd. England, Pattern No. 346. This back was used by Meakin between 1895 and 1910.

This is an unusual tile made by Minton Hollins. Stoke on Trent around 1880. It has a central cartouche with a stylized moulded flower. The rest of the pattern is `intaglio` ie impressed with pink roses and swags. The tile is 6 inches square and in good condition. The Minton Hollins factory marks are on the back.
