Offered for your bidding consideration is a handsome antique tile made by Cambridge. It features 3 French fleur-de-lis reliefs colored in a light sage green. I recently discovered this tile and others while digging for antique bottles under a porch in Stockton. CA. The home was built in 1909 and was slated for demolition. I believe I had dug up a trash pit once used by the original builders just before completion of the home where they had discarded left over materials. This is a beautiful. Fun and fabulous antique tile measuring 5.3/8 inches square. I live in a victorian townhouse in the art museum area of Philadelphia. When we were insulating the walls on either side of our fireplace, we found this behind the wall many years ago. It is a funny scene of two drunken men in a donkey accident. The colors are beautiful and vivid! There is only a very very tiny bit of crazing in the bottom left which is even difficult to see. The edges are a bit nicked as you can see in the photos. Please look at the photos. I try to show everything in the photos. It is a great antique tile! Thanks for looking at my homes original tile. Antique English Art Nouveau 3 tile panel #1075-1077 Sky blue tulips
A run of three original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tiles. Each measuring 6" x 6" Probably part of a fireplace panel originally consisting of 5 tiles, but I've only ever had three. The only real sign that the original design is truncated is the small amount of sky-blue glaze right at the base of the second tile. Otherwise, the pattern of caramel-coloured leaves with their dimpled light apple-green background continues rather convincingly! The three bright sky-blue tulips are the stars of this panel, set off beautifully against the cream background.Great original condition with just some edge nibbles to tiles 1& 2, a larger top right corner chip to tile 3, 4 little surface chips each to tiles 2& 3. No cracks or other problems. There is faint crackle-crazing due to age. Please see the detailed images(taken ... morewith a camera and not my usual high-resolution direct scans because the tiles are currently mounted onto thin hardboard with PVA glue. This is how I mount my panels before I frame them, to prevent loose tiles from slipping out and falling. The PVA is a non-permanent fix and will easily remove from the tiles. I can do this before posting if the winning bidder would like me to. In the meantime, it isn't possible to photograph the tile backs! This tile panel is from my own collection. Easily postable. The finished parcel will qualify for the Royal Mail's'up to 2kg' rates and a'small parcel' rather than a'medium parcel' if the tiles are removed from the hardboard and packed as a cube(as per the quotes below, saving around £2.50 in postage) The tiles will be properly bubblewrapped, padded and strongly boxed. A beautiful original- NOT a modern reproduction- English art nouveau tile. There is a logo on the back which I have never seen before of a stag lying down with laurel leaves and the word England. It is a lovely 3 poppy design in pale pink and green on a cream background. There is crazing to the surface of the glaze and a bit of discoloration to the upper left hand edge but no cracks or chips. Antique Beaver Falls Victorian Parlor Stove Art Tile Daisy Flower 3" Majolica
Victorian parlor stove tile made by the Beaver Falls Art tile company of Beaver Falls.Pennsylvania. This tile would have fit into ia cast iron bazel in a fancy Victorian stove. There are two areas of abrasion just above the notch as seen in the photos.The semicircular notch seen in the tile is factory molded and not a chip. That Notch wood sit in a cast iron pin to keep it from rotating in the bezel. Beaver Falls tiles are exceptionally beautiful and scarce and highly sought after by collectors. Spanish majolica tile Description Fine Spanish majolica tile made C 1600 with super bright polychrome glaze. Size 13.8 x 13.6 cm( approximately 5.4"square) Tile is 18 mm thick(appoximately 0.6" Very good condition. Several small glaze chips to sides of tile. clearly visible on picture.
