Lot of 3 RARE Vintage PILKINGTON England Mid Century Modern Ceramic Tile. Starburst We don't have an exact date for these very unusual. Very stylish Pilkington 6x6" ceramic tiles, but the decidedly mid-century modern starburst motif puts them squarely in the 1950s to 1960s. We only have three, and we wish we had more! The gray and black on white design would fit into any contemporary interior, and they're a perfect choice for a retro ranch renovation. All tiles are in good unused condition with bright motifs and very. Very minor imperfections from decades in storage. One tile has a tiny bit of crazing to the glaze-you'd have to look very close to see this with the naked eye, and we tried to capture it in the photos to no avail, but we want you to know it's there. Beautiful! For auction today we have one vintage Italian majolica tile signed by Emanuele Terzani. A very colorful. Multi-colored and hand painted tile, framed. Original frame hanger was replaced with what you see here, and small nails slightly protrude through frame front. Terzani signature in lower left corner. Tile itself measures 8 X 4 inches. And framed measurements are 10.5 X 7 inches. Features a multi-colored, dancing, masked court jester. There is even, heavy crazing throughout, and a crack at about the center mark, near the jester's waist. Reverse side has very light printing: Made in Italy. This is an interesting 6 inch Victorian aesthetic tile. It contains a wheat sheaf design. The tile is marked H R T Co England and then appears to have a small 3R mark and a 51 marked in the corner. It is in unused condition but has two chips to the bottom corners. This tile comes from the G K BEAULAH tiles sale at Bonhams on 25th January 1995. It has the original sticker for the sale on the front for lot no 212. On the rear. It has the Beaulah catalogue number: 1334. There is also a red sticker on the edge with a number 225. Ken Beaulah was author of Church Tiles of the C19th and a founder member of the Tiles and Architectural Ceramic Society. He began collecting whilst still at school in York. Or surround them with e.g. yellow tiles same size, so this looks like a carpet. If you wax the tiles the colors will light up. You could even diamond polish them. Few chips off tiles and one is broken in two. I have a few spare ones that are also broken, that will be hardly noticeable once they lay on the floor. We imported them from Belgium thinking we need them in our new house. We ended up not building the house. Right now it is 84 square feet. But if the tiles are laid down there will be grout in between so that space can vary from 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch. I ONLY WANT TO SELL THE ENTIRE LOT

Four pale sky blue petals emerge from a tube-lined epicenter and branch outwards towards a leafy surround in deep forest green. The green areas are particularly interesting when the tiles are placed one atop another as they serve to form a second interlocking pattern. Antique Erotic Art Pottery Tile Minton King Arthur Series Guinevere Moyr Smith
This tile is not signed by the Minton Company however it has all the characteristics of a Minton tile. It does have the name of the artist- Moyr Smith. This is one tile in a series called the King Arthur series and the name Guinevere is along the lower section. It is in good condition however the photo will show a small chip on the margin lower right. This is a nice tile in the art nouveau- arts and crafts style. It is 6 by 6 inches by almost a half inch thick. There is a slight residue of grout leading me to think it was perhaps used around a fireplace or a border above the wainscoat.
