Trent Trenton fireplace tiles 10 pcs. 6" x 6" Vintage
Ten Trent tiles that came from an old Victorian fireplace surround in Iowa. Each of the tiles measure 6" x 6" Two have large chips on the front. Two others have very small chips on the front. They have not been cleaned but any char should wipe off with windex and a cloth. A few of them have chips on the back. But those can be leveled with grout. There are 10 tiles all together. Description The sale is for 36 of these antique tiles and are from the late 1800's. They are 4.25" square and have a raised design. They are in very good condition with some very small abrasions to the high points(on some) and an pleasing all over crazing that almost all antique tiles have. I very recently sold this identical design with less bold colors(light green replacing the blue) This was the buyer's comment: Great item. Accurately described, combined/free shipping, great seller! The last picture show the different designs you can create with them. You can extend their surface coverage by using triangular tiles at the 4 corners to create 6 inch squares as well. Available here is a set of encaustic fireplace tiles made by Trent Company. There are 11 six inch tiles with a floral/vine/three leaf clover pattern. Included in the tiles are 2 corner tiles. One top center tile and one end"L" tiles. shown in center) Beautiful colors of aqua and brown. Color change can be arranged differently if desired. Colors are much more pretty than photos depict. All of the tiles exhibit crazing consistent with age. They have very little to no concrete grout on the back. They are all marked“TRENT” on the back. When placed together correctly. The floral/vine tiles form a continuous flowing pattern. There is one tile with small chips no bigger than 1/4” near the edge. Other than that the tiles are in good condition with no major issues. The sale is for this pair of antique portrait tiles with a highly raised design. They are each 6" square. They were made by the Trent Tile Works of Trenton NJ. The tile companies often produced the same designs. I have this pair made by the Providential company currently listed. They are in a light blue. I love this particular col r glaze. This glaze and certain green glazes look like they are lit from withing when the light hits them. They are in very good condition with the exception that the male tile has a thin abrasion on the right edge(where the hair meets the shoulder) and a very abrasion toward the middle. Please zoom in on the pictures to see. The camera picks up so much more than the eye and I notice I could have cleaned the surfaces better. Lot Of Antique Trent/Cambridge Tile Includes 2 Portrait Tiles Of A Man And Woman
I have here a lot of antique Trent tile made in Trenton N.J. There are a total of 9 pieces of Trent and 1 piece of Cambridge. The other piece of tile I can not read the makers name. The first 2 tiles are the portrait tiles. One features a woman. It measures 6 x 6. The back still has a patch of the mortar attached that covers most of the word Trent. However a T is quite visible. There are also some abrasions along the raised portions of the tile. There is also writing on it that says sitting room. I have been told that these were taken out of the Wilmington Inn in Wilmington Ohio, but have no verification of that. The second portrait tile is that of a man. It also measures 6 x 6. As with the other tile there is mortar on the back and some abrasions on the front. Trent is clearly visible on this piece. The next 7 pieces are a plain brown color. ... moreThey all measure 6 x 6. 6 of them are in really good condition with the word Trent clearly visible. The seventh tile has a chip off of the one side and has mortar over the word Trent. The next 2 pieces are not Trent. One is definitely Cambridge. It measures 4 x 1 1/2. It has been broken and should measure 6 x 1 1/2. The other piece I am assuming is Cambridge, I can not read the name on the back. Since it is the same color it is probably a good bet that it is also Cambridge. It measures 6 x 1 1/2. They both have a brown, pale green, and cream colored marble pattern. Two fabulous antique tiles feature a man& woman signed Trent. The color is a beautiful gold yellowish brown with white accents. These tiles measure 6" square. Both have been used and are in descent shape. The woman tile has a little more wear than the man tile. The man tile has a chip in the bottom corner as well as on his hair(last photo) There is crazing on both of them. Some of the white spots on the photo's are due to light reflection. 5 Pcs Antique Trent Ceramic Art Tiles Victorian Botanical Triangles Holly
Antique art tiles made by the Trent tile company of Trenton New Jersey. Trent was one of the largest tile factories in the United States between the 1880s and the 1910s. Marked on the backs. Three of the triangles are marked in script. Central 3" x 3" tile surrounded by four triangles of 2-1/8" x 3" Together the five tiles form a 4.25" x 4.25" by half-inch thick assemblage. Some light chips as seen in the photos but overall a very nice group with Excellent eye appeal. You will receive all five tiles. Antique Vintage 'Trent' 6 X 6 White Tiles Early 1900's Lot of (7) Pcs.
Please note: each tile is actually 5 15/16" square and 7/16" thick. Here are some'Trent' tiles that were found in with a large lot of used tile. Based on the maker and design. These likely dated from the late 1800's-early 1900's. They all show surface scuffs. Crazed glazing and small flea bites on their edges here and there. These are used. Old tiles so they are far from perfect; but if you want patina then look no further! All grout has been removed as well as most of the original mortar. So these are pretty much ready to install. 34 Pcs Antique Trent NJ Neo-classical Border Tiles 1 X 6 Subway White Acanthus
Lot of 34 pcs( 3 pcs were missed when I took photos. But they are in excellent condition) Antique art tiles made by the Trent Tile Co of Trenton. NJ. 1-1/16" x 6" x 1/2" thick, plus a domed face. Note that antique tiles vary slightly in thickness. In this case, some are slightly longer than others. This does not affect the repeating pattern. These date to the late 1800's-early 1900's. Marked Trent on the backs. Neo-classical medallions and acanthus motif. They are in excellent condition with very few chips. As for color. These are a very white-white. I have a creamy white tile(another group in another auction) up against them in the last photo for comparison. Great for an installation. Restoration or art project.
