T&R BOOTE ACANTHUS FLOWERS AND LEAVES VICTORIAN TILE
This Victorian tile was made by T&R Boote. Stoke on Trent. It has a printed pattern of superimposed squares with acanthus leaves and with flowers as the central motif. The pattern is printed in shades of brown on a buff ground.The tile is 6 inches square and in good condition.There are a couple of very small nibbles at two corners but these are not noticeable. Beautiful Boote Antique Art Nouveau Tile
15cm x 15cm Boote antique art nouveau tile. Typical Boote reverse. Though there is a thin layer of plaster attached in some parts. Beautiful design and very nice glazes. The background is a gorgeous dark blue which gets lighter towards the centre. This seems to be a deliberate effect with this design. 2 nice rich colours in flower. But quite a pale green in the stem. As with the Sherwin tile I have listed, it was difficult to photograph without glare. The condition is not perfect. Please see the description. Imperfections mainly restricted to the edges. Please excuse the camera glare. The postage is charged only at cost price. Unfortunately due to my distance from civilisation. This is approximately 12 pounds for 1 tile to Europe(economy mail) It's very slightly cheaper to the States. Up for auction is a pretty printed Victorian or Edwardian tile made by T& R Boote. This tile is printed with a large art nouveau image of a stylised flower with buds and leaves in a red or dark pink colour on a white background. The surface of the tile has a nice glossy finish. Genuine Art Nouveau decorative tile. 'Boote' 1 of a pair. Majolica. Iridescence.
This beautiful tile is one of a pair; both are listed for sale this week. It is a standard 6" tile and is just over 1 cm thick. This one is simply marked'England' but the second of the pair has the stamped greyhound motif of'Boote' The green glaze is thicker in the lower areas due to pooling and there is also surface iridescence that adds to the decorative appeal. Tube lined it has a nice in-relief flower pattern, colours are a nice bottle green, light blue and pink on a light green background and colours are nice and bright, condition is good, no cracks chips, it has about six very small nibbles on top edging. It has crazing which would come with a tile of this age. On the back its has the mark of T& R Boote and the letter B on one corner. Size is 6" square. I will wrap well with lots of bubble wrap. The tile measures approximately 6 inches square and has the typical T. R. Boote moulded back. The photographs show the tile from both sides. The tile is in good condition apart from a small chip to the top left hand corner, see photograph where I have indicated this with an arrow. An original(antique) Art Nouveau press-moulded majolica tile measuring 6" x 6" The quartered design of diagonally opposing stylized(dragonfly? motifs in caramel-brown and sage green against a cream background. Is set off nicely by the rich deep-green plain quarters. The tile is generally in great original condition all over but for some surface scratches and a little light staining along the left-hand edge from its time in a fireplace. No chips or cracks. This tile is made by T& R Boote and dates to 1905. It is a standard 6 inch tiles. It is tube lined and it is difficult to see but the ground is a deep bottle green with surface iridescence. The condition is very good there are a few nibbles to the corners as can be seen in the photograph but basically it is excellent. There are five in the set but this auction is for one tile- the others are for sale if anyone is interested. I have a shop in Shrewsbury where you are welcome to view. This moulded Victorian majolica glaze tile was made by T&R Boote. Stoke on Trent. The tile is 6 inches square. Full floral design, a bold asymmetric floral design quite naturalistic the flower lolling about in a lazy manner. Six colours, beige ground lemon and sunny yellows for the flower with burgundy highlights and two tones of green for the leaves. A design I can't recall seeing before, it's just great how new designs keep on coming along, there's rarely a dull moment when collecting majolica tiles! On a Boote blank but they pressed embossed blanks on contract for other tile makers so possibly a design by a smaller company so helping to explain the rarity. Two corner chips. Other tiny to minute rim chips, ... moresome minute chips on the raised outline and other minor surface marks but surface is mostly pretty good especially as it appears to have been fitted in a hearth. Art Nouveau 6" tile made by T& R Boote circa 1906/7. A dark green background with deep pink and tan stylised flower on a tan stem. This tile was in a wooden frame when found and this has probably protected it during it's life. Edges and corners are very good with a glazed over manufacturing fault on top right corner. ORIGINAL VICTORIAN `EXOTIC FLOWERS` TILE POSSIBLY T&R BOOTE
This colourful Victorian tile was probably made by T&R Boote. Stoke on Trent around 1880. The pattern shows two exotic flowers with leaves and stems. The tile is 6 inches square and in good condition. There is a small area where the transfer has missed on the top edge and some overall light crazing. The back can be seen in picture#2 PLEASE NOTE. This is an original Victorian tile and NOT a copy.
