I am unsure of the exact age of the desk. It is most likely a 1970's reproduction of an 18th Century Georgian Design. It has beautifully carved ball and claw feet, and chunky cabiole legs that are also carved at the knees. This desk has five (5) substantial drawers with the original brass bail pull handles, and five (5) faux drawer fronts on the back side also with brass bail pull handles. The drawers have dove tail joints. The desk was in front of a window for years, and therefore the finish on the back side is a bit faded.

Antique Hepplewhite Federal style tambour desk. This piece is handcrafted primarily of solid dark mahogany. Adorned with linear and bell-flower inlays in contrasting woods. The top half of the desk has two tambour-covered sections containing three pigeon holes and a small drawer. There is also a locked center section. Sorry- no key! The lower part has a fold out. Hinged writing surface atop two full-sized drawers. Drawers are mahogany, with ash as the secondary wood. Dovetailed joints and wonderful nautical-themed brass pulls. The entire piece is supported by slender, tapered square legs. Piece most likely dates from the early 20th century. A beautiful addition to any collection! Overall. The top has ebony line inlay and broad crossbanding to the outer edge the flaps can easily be erected using with wooden hinged flaps which are hidden underneath. The table has 2 drawers to the front and 2 dummy drawers to the reverse. This is a lovely vintage Sheraton-Hepplewhite period style inlaid writing desk. We were told it was from the mid 20th C. It is made of mahogany and has the original label. The gallery has 2 doors and 1 drawer while the desk itself has 1 draw. It is pencil inlaid and has tapered legs. The desk itself if is lovely condition but the top of the writing surface has some scratches and wear. We have tried to show all of these as well as the rest of the desk so please view the pictures. This is a very nice Chippendale style mahogany secretary desk. The desk is complete and is in good condition with several cosmetic flaws but great structural integrity. This desk is complete with original"Genuine Mahogany" tag(photo#3) 2 paper Maddox tags and a metal Maddox shield(photo#9) The shield reads"Maddox Colonial Reproductions Jamestown, NY. The desk is complete with claw feet(photo#5) and beautiful top decoration(photo#4) There are four large drawers in the bottom part of the desk that work perfectly. The desk is quite beautiful when you put the slant top down into writing position. The writing surface is in nice condition but does have several scratches on it. There are five small drawers across the inside of the desk that are topped by 8 letter slots(4 on each side) an open center space with a door, and two hidden ... morevertical pillar drawers(photo#6) There is some damage around the knobs of the drawers and door, particular the center drawer and door, and something stuck inside one of the letter slots(see photo#7) The glass doors on the top of the desk are in very nice condition with the only visible flaw being some imperfection(retouching? in the finish at the center of the doors(photo#8) There are three shelves behind the glass doors. The top shelf has some paper stuck on three side of the back left corner(I do not know if it can be removed or what the finish looks like underneath it) and a circular scuff mark on the back in the center(photo#10) On the lower portion of both the right and left side there is some kind of residue or damage(photo#11) I do not know exactly what it is or if it can be repaired. This is beautiful and very intricate in detail; it is an early 1900's genuine mahogany Hepplewhite style tambour secretary desk. It has burled mahogany. And has a tooled leather top with ethereal gold leaf detailing. This desk features a warm reddish-brown finish, six open letter cubbies and one cubby with a door. There are three smaller drawers with dovetail joinery, oval brass pulls, and four square tapered fluted legs with caster feet. Recessed front tambour doors roll in from the sides to hide the letter cubbies and cabinet. The exquisite marquetry work includes ribbons and garlands, medallions, band inlay throughout and shield escutcheon. The main storage drawer is generous in size. The desk is about 30 inches wide. 40 inches high and 22 inches deep. I no longer have the key to the lock. Late 1800. Early 1900's Chippendale style Mahogany Partners Desk. The Legs are curved like a Chippendale style with a Ball and Clawfeet. This desk has been in my family since 1911, it is probably earlier. This desk has drawers on each side, however only one side opens. There is some damage on the sides and legs to the desk, please see pictures. The major flaw is a split piece holding the left rear leg of the desk, this has been poorly repaired, but all the original wood is still there for future repair. Please see photo. This desk glows when polished, it is a beautiful piece. The drawers lock and comes with the keys. Turn of the Century 2-Drawer Drop Leaf Mahogany Desk by Brandt of Hagerstown. MD- Since 1901. The desk is in the Duncan Phyfe style with Brass Claw Caps on the 4 curved legs. The desk top is supported by 2 harp shaped pieces. Connected by 2 interior carved wood rods. The harps were intricately crafted with individual dowels replicating strings; all connected at the base and near the top, with the dowels extending further at different lengths. Above are 2 working interior drawers with 2 pulls each and a working key/lock; pulls have formed Acanthus leaf detailing. The drawer fronts are framed in a rectangular inlay pattern. The desk top has been repaired on the lower left side; there is some cosmetic wear to the surface; and wear to the veneer side trim; all pictured. The drop leafs are supported by a swing door that is stored in the side of ... morethe desk when not being used. The leaves extend the desk top space by 12 inches in length on both sides; with carved scalloped edges. The rectangular desk top and irregular drop leafs are all framed in a wood inlay. Due to the age of the desk(early 1900's) the condition of the wood with the cosmetic wear is minor. The desk is still in excellent structural condition; desk swings slightly on the sides when moved. This is an excellent Duncan Phyfe Style Period Desk/Writing Desk from Brandt of Hagerstown. MD. There is not much attainable history on this company but there are not many manufactured pieces available for sale, especially this style desk. The desk top has been repaired but can still be used as a flat writing surface. The wood still has a rich medium mahogany wood tone and sheen. The writing desk boasts a shaped interior with four internal drawers; two of which are secret and can be found below the cylindrical tambour. There is a bank of seven pigeonholes in the centre of the desk; two small doors, which feature floral parquetry and string inlay to door fronts, flank the pigeonholes. The desk features a very useful pullout-writing base with an aged green and black-tooled leather top, which increases the working greater working space available. The pullout base features the original brass knobs; likewise, the tambour and drawer fronts feature the original brass knobs and handles. Below, there are three working drawers. The two outer drawers are inlaid with satinwood and the drawer opening is cock-beaded. Likewise, the central drawer front is also cock-beaded but it also features a very pretty floral parquetry inlaid centre. The hand dovetailed drawer linings are constructed of mahogany. The style has become more popular as time has gone by. While having been made around 1940. This partners desk was probably not used by the military, but was made in that style. Both sides are identical and consist of a large cabinet in the left pedestal and a bank of regular drawers in the right. The middle drawers have locks but no key remains. The top is a lovely black leather that appears new. This leather has a lovely gold tooling around the outside. Leather makes a fabulous writing and work surface and has an incredibly handsome look. Mahogany is the wood used to construct the desk and it has a lovely grain and color. This antique campaign desk does separate into the top and two pedestals for easier moving. Beautiful Antique Chippendale Style Mahogany Secretary Desk
This has been in our family since it was bought new- probably in the 1920s- maybe a little earlier. It is in very good condition- original finish and all original hardware and glass. It is very solid. And inside it has various neat cubbies, including two hidden compartments. It has claw feet and a lot of nice details. I have looked around, but haven't been able to find another one exactly like it. The manufacturer's label is long gone, but it is a quality piece(the original owner had a seat on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange) We would keep it but can't find a place to put it in our house.

VINTAGE DREXEL HERITAGE mahogany federal antique style executive desk

Contact for further details. 67W 41D 30.5H This magnificent traditional desk is finished on all sides so can be placed in the middle of the room or anywhere to display this showpiece. It has just the right amount of molding so as to have a vintage yet modern stately look. The desk has an extra large executive size surface with a total of eight drawers with movable wood dividers for each drawer. All of the drawers feature old fashioned craftsmanship with finely crafted dovetail joints that interlock to form a flat edge at the corners and sides thus eliminating the need for nails or screws. The right hand side is a double drawer deep enough for hanging files. Not sure if this is original to the piece but it appears that at some point. A metal attachment ... morewith a sliding rail for organizing manila folders was added to the bottom of the drawer. This can be easily removed if you prefer to use a metal cage for the file drawer instead. The desk has all original hardware and two pull-out shelves on either side of the desk. All drawers slide out effortlessly and lack the modern steel hardware on the outside of the drawers as sometimes used in more modern furniture. Giving it a feel of yesteryear. A Drexel stamp of authenticity is on the bottom side of the desk. This piece is pre-owned and being sold as is. And as might be expected due to its age and use, has scratches, blemishes, knicks, gashes or scruff marks and is being sold as is. This item will benefit from an overall polishing, touch up in some spots and replacement of thin molding where worn or missing. It is a splendid and majestic piece whose beauty can be further enhanced or used as is. Please note that these types of highly crafted desks.
