One of the unique features of this desk is the storage compartment located in the back of the kneehole. Along with the eight drawers this desk packs plenty of storage space. The green leather top compliments the mahogany wood perfectly, as do the brass pulls on the drawers. The piece sits on bracket feet and is very sturdy. This desk is all one piece and does not come apart. Condition is very good. There are minor wear marks on the wood and leather that are consistent with the piece's age, but nothing that detracts from the desk and overall appeal of this piece. This desk boasts plenty of storage space. Note the extra compartment that opens in the kneehole. The back of the desk is finished nicely. As are the sides of the desk. Beautiful from all angles. Each drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Bracket feet keep this piece very sturdy. You can see a good sampling of the minor wear in the piece here. The green leather writing surface is in good condition with only minor wear consistent with age. Gold tooling adorns the leather top. And blends well with the mahogany wood. Rectangular pedestals, swan neck handles, decorated external panels terminating in Georgian style bracket feet. The desk features a working key for the top three drawers. The desk can either stand in the centre of a room or against a wall. The frame. Drawer linings and sides are constructed of engineered timber with a fantastic mahogany veneer.
