The desk boasts solid golden oak fielded panels throughout and features the original oak cup handles to the pedestal. There is an oak modesty board. With two pullout-writing slides above 4 drawers in each pedestal. The interior has 13 internal drawers and 12 internal compartments and with brass finger hooks and knobs. The desk features a secret locking mechanism when the roll-top is closed which locks all the drawers except the central drawer. The brass tambour lock and key are in working order. The desk sits on its original castors. The internal drawers are constructed of sycamore. The oak has an excellent tight grain with a golden wax finish.
