Antique Vintage All Wood School Desk Chair Top Child Industrial Machine Age
This is an all wood antique child's chair top. It is in good condition. A few of the curved backing pieces need a little glue and a vice overnight to tighten them up to the top backrest. The piece is solid other than that. This is very old. Strong wood which has some gorgeous curvature to it. The bottom of the chair which is sat on is about 14.5" deep. The back of the chair is about 15 10/16" tall.

Steel desk by Art Metal Jamestown NY machine age table steam punk mid century
This old desk was clearly used as a work table of some sort as the thick Linoleum top does have many cuts dings and bruises. But it is still on there solid and the entire top is completely covered. Other than the top, everything else is made of steel. The steel parts are not dented or broken, but they do show signs of age like a scuff here and there and the odd paint splatter, you know, that sort of thing. The desk has a single shallow drawer. The top measures 60 by 34 inches. the total height is 30 inches. The drawer is complete and in fine working condition. The maker tag is on the face of the drawer and reads"Art Metal Jamestown New York. I believe this desk dates to the 1930s or so. There are surprisingly few of these desks on the market, so get this one while you can. This is a heavy table and weighs very close to 100 pounds. Very attractive Machine age antique. The real thing, probably from the 30's or 40's. Designed for multiple uses. Features lovely art deco wrought iron with wonderful embellishment from a time long ago, extensive height and tilt adjustments. The full tilt of the top can swing in either direction for multiple use. Full working order- tilt top with many settings- I am showing the flat and the most severe tilt top in the pictures. Table top 24" x 18" Base is 15" x 20" wide. Adjustable height to 36" tall when table is flat. Total height is 43" when in full upright position. It has many settings in between for your choice in tilt. There are 2 original wooden caster on two feet and the other two feet were designed with no casters for stability. Table has a nice old original piece of oak for the top. But it is ... moreheavily weathered on the top with 2 small chips and 2 small chunks of glue. I would refinish or replace. Back has a few metal straps used to hold a drafting tool or doctor tool. This table came from a Doctor's estate in the Hill section of Burlington Vt. house c. 1890. I have an original picture of the doctor and will include it in the sale. All functions and tightening adjusting wheels work well. The table simply screws into the locking system and can be positioned in any direction by tilting it one way or another by depressing the top metal knob on top. It snaps into place with a well engineered interlocking system that still works well. The table height can be raised from 22" up to 36" It will come to you with the top removed for safe delivery. thanks.

This is a Steelmaster double pedestal desk with powder coated light brown surface and wood grain laminate top fabricated by Art Steel Company. New York c1940s. It is in excellent vintage condition. On the left side are three standard size storage drawers with the top one shallow that has a piece that slides over for another surface(same on the right side) Right pedestal has two standard drawers with a deep file drawer on the bottom. It also features a center pencil drawer. The top is a light wood grain laminate with a chrome wrap around bumper. Heres the scoop! Top width at 55”w x 24”d x 29 1/2”h. Kneehole measures 24”w x 25 1/2”h. Desk retains original flush chrome handles. There are a few very minor scratches and dings that are not noticeable unless scrutinized up close– the top has some spots of wear that I have noted in the last several ... morephotos. Usually you find the panels with a thin veneer not solid walnut, this is a great high quality feature.the entire show part of desk is solid walnut I have restored this fantastic desk from top to bottom The drawer insides feature oak with dovetail joinery on both the front and back ends of the drawers. I painted the 5 drawers with black.The top drawer bottom I added the"cheetah" fabric. Which is a felt backed vinyl, making for a soft surface. I buffed to a satin sheen and sealed them with a clear finish, I left some darkened highlights in place for character I restored the finish entirely by hand. Many coats of hand rubbed oil varnish, the finish brings out the rich depths and textures of the wood, including some beauty marks in the grain(knots, dings, nail holes I filled and some chips in the wood panels on the lower edges of the kneehole area) When you rub your hands over the wood. It feels fantastic.I did restore some pieces(some trim at the bottom of the pedestals)This desk has beauty marks& imperfections.
