This is a beautiful bookcase with a drop-front secretary desk. I believe it to be Mahogany. But it may be cherry wood, nevertheless it is beautiful, high quality furnishing. It has glass shelving, and a light inside the bookcase, which you can control by a cord switch. This piece is in almost perfect condition, with a few small blemishes, but practically unnoticeable. It has been in storage, untouched for over a year, and before in an elderly couples home where it was picked up at an estate sale. American Vintage Governor Winthrop Break Front Desk Secretary Desk This is a vintage American Governor Winthrop break front secretary desk that is made out of Walnut(walnut has long been used for fine furniture because of its fine grain. And walnut is a good quality which make the furniture last a long time) and the with hand carved Chippendale feet. Kling was produced by Kling between 1911 and 1923. Then between 1924 and 1930, Kling offered furniture made of French Walnut and American Walnut in which they were described as"Butt Walnut, selected veneer, and"combination walnut. There are a couple loose bolts and a few missing screws, so this thing is a bit wobbly. The iron parts have also obviously been painted, and the wood's obviously been refinished. Vintage Oak Child's Tall School Desk -- Local Pickup Only, Southern California
This vintage oak school desk stands 28-3/4" tall. I haven't seen one like this before; I assume a stool is used for the chair. The width is 24" across and the depth is 16" The oak stain is satin or matte finish. The top of the desk is flat. Not sloped, and has a pencil groove and inkwell. The hinged top lifts up and has a nice, deep drawer measuring 4-3/4" high and 13-5/8" deep. It would hold quite a lot. The height to the bottom of the drawer is 22-1/2" from the floor and 18-1/2" across. Inbetween the desk legs. The desk is in very good vintage condition. The hinged top works smoothly and the hinges appear to be in good condition. Nothing feels loose or weak and the desk is solid and sturdy. The legs are not wobbly. Vintage Oak Executive Desk 60" x 34" -- Local Pickup Southern California
This beautiful executive desk is in very good vintage condition. Everything works smoothly; the drawers pull out and close easily and the the desk is solid and stable. The desk top offers a very large work surface. The desk is made of solid oak with oak veneer on the desk top. The drawers have dove tail joinery. The size of the desk is 60" in length. 34" in width and 37" tall. The underside opening for the desk chair is 23-1/4" in length. There are three deep drawers on the left side of the desk. Each with a width of 26-1/4" The right side has a drawer on top and a file drawer underneath. The large center drawer has a pencil holder at the front. There are two pull out shelves on either side at the top. Please note that this listing is for the desk only. The main photo showing the desk paired with a chair is for reference ... moreonly. The desk came from a Los Angeles company by the name of Conrac. Inc. When they closed one of their divisions this desk was sold and was owned by the same couple for over 30 years. The desk belonged to the manager who the wife reported to and she bought it when Conrac sold the office furniture. The third photo shows the back of the desk. As you can see. It's attractive and detailed on all sides, so you could situate it away from a wall. The sixth photo shows the underside of the desk. The last photo shows the underside of one of the drawers. The flaws which I've noted are as follows. And can be seen in the close up photos: 1. The fifth photo. Showing the right hand shelf pulled out, shows wear and scraping on the surface. 2. In the seventh photo you may be able to see some rippling in the veneer. It doesn't cover the entire surface of the desk top. But there are areas where the veneer has rippled. 3. The eighth photo shows some gray paint drops on the left upper side of the desk top. 4. Here for sale I have an old mission style desk. This has been in my family for many years. I believe this is called a library desk. It has a drawer on either side and book shelves on either end. Looks like but I don't know if it's Stickly or not. Could not find a name. It measures 44" long, 28" wide, 30 3/4" high measuring from wheels attached to legs.
