It is an unusual desk with drawers opening on both sides and one door on both sides. Each side has a center drawer, a right-hand drawer, and a right-hand door. The desk was refinished in the last 10 years or so and whoever it was did a wonderful job. The desk has dainty carved cabriole legs with brass fillagree on the elbows and castors. The drawers are all dove tail with brass ribbed knobs. The doors have locks, but there is no key. The desk is in wonderful condition apart from two small cracks on the solid oak top that has nothing to do with structure and you wouldn’t want to touch it. The overall size is 52 inches wide, 28 inches deep and 30 inches high.

A telephone number is necessary to give to the shipper. Description: This is an antique Eastlake style slant top desk made of walnut from the early 1900’s. This desk has a black inlay in several areas as well. The crown is carved with a fan shape at the center and spoon carvings and lines all along the top. There is a secret door behind the crown on the top of the piece that has a lock and opens to the center section. The doors are paneled and the black inlay is very nice on them. The center door has 3 letters in the center of it in the ... moreblack inlay“FBC” The doors house cubby holes and compartments. The center has a large label on the back interior wall that shows a picture of the building and talks about the company that made this piece. The desk has a black leather type writing area that lifts out and there is more secret storage underneath it. The desk top is slanted toward the user. There are 4 ringed legs. This piece has a great patina and is in great condition for its age. It is antique and may not be perfect. I do not know the exact date it was made. It was made by the Pettibone Mfg. Co. in Cincinnati. OH. There is a brass tag on the center front of the desk part that says the company name and location. It says LIBRARY AND SOCIETY GOODS as well. The measurements are: Base: 29 ½ inches tall, 38 5/8 inches side to side and 30 ¼ inches front to back. It weighs 33 pounds. The top with 2 hinged split-panel doors concealing an interior fitted with cubby holes, ledger slides and a single drawer. The base features a hinged lifting writing surface concealing an interior fitted with dividers and raised on well turned poplar legs. This southern piece comes from an Augusta County, Virginia estate. One thought was to remove the lock in hopes of finding the maker, but we did not, as we did not want to perhaps damage the screw heads. There are slight marks to the lower right of the Inlaid star on the top. There are two holes with brass cylinders on the front(top) edge.not sure what they are for.no accessory hardware for them either. The star(top) is composed of 16 individual inlaid pieces in the veneer. The wood is unknow to us, if we(I) had to guess I would say walnut, with maple or ash pinstripping forming the boarders on the top and side edges. The bottom is cover in green felt(no picture) somewhat worn, but not ripped, just some rolled edges(comprised of three pieces of felt) one having the number 033 marked on it. This item came with an auctioneer tag from Gaston& Sheehan Auctioneers Inc. in Pflugerville, Tx. with alot number of 680 on the tag. We called them, but without more information, relative to the piece it was impossible to search just the lot number 680. Antique Oak Twin Pedestal Partners Desk - 1/4 Sawn - Very Nice
A beautiful 1/4 sawn Tiger Oak Desk. what they used to call a"Partner's Desk" because it isn't the massive that the boss had. The top is about 30" deep and 50" wide. The build design allows you to get it into tight places. The top comes off of the pedestals and the stringers come out- makes it easy for one person to move. The pedestal feet are wrapped in brass and all the original hardware is intact. The drawers lock when the center drawer is in. The piece is made of superb quarter sawn oak with a good original finish with great reddish color. The desk is very heavy and well made and has a central blind drawer with 2 drawers on either side. The sides and back are paneled and the desk is pinned at the top and bottom. There is a flush through tenon on ... moreeither side and there is a small lower shelf under the drawer in the center. There are excellent original hand hammered copper pulls with pyramid screws. There are a few typical surface scratches on the top as you can see in the pictures. Oak antique student desk(but accommodates most adults up to perhaps 175 lbs. and 5' 10" with 4 rungs below for books. Etc. and ample writing surface. Remaining in whole and good condition with a few issues as described. LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY in zip 22802, Harrisonburg, Virginia. A relatively well-preserved all nearly-all-oak desk. Measuring as follows: 27 1/2" high at the writing surface 33: high at the chair back 17 1/2" high at the seat 18 1/2" x 17" seat 4 rungs below double-back braces(rather thick and substantial) I'm not sure of the wood type of the writing surface. But strikes me as original, with original hardware underneath. One final word on the crack in the seat. It does not bother the butt when sitting at all. And the photos of it may exaggerate it. For display and comfort purposes, I've use a ... morered cushion with it the last few years. It's really been a display piece in my living room, so a guest or two have sat in it maybe 3-4 times just to try it out. Kids also like it. The"45" painted on the back could be removed if you'd like. It has a smooth working roll with working lock and key. The roll operates the drawer locking mechanism. It has an 8 drawer interior. 2 pull-out pencil slides, and 2 stationary troughs. It has all three envelope slats, 2 pull-out writing boards, center drawer with lock(no key) and 3 drawers in the left bank. These drawers are all dove tail construction. The right bank has two dummy drawer fronts joined making a drop front with lock and key that hinges down to expose 3 interior drawers. These drawers are 3 sided and meant to tilt out papers. Antique Solid Oak Desk 53" X 20" Stands 30" Brass Handles Nice Inlay BEAUTIFUL!!
For sale is a STUNNING antique solid oak desk. This is a beauty in wonderful condition. It does have one minor repair to the front right leg as pictured. And there is some very minimal peeling of the varnish on the top, barely noticeable, pictured. The top right drawer still has the original felt in it and does have a couple spots of wear as you can see in the last picture. Overall excellent antique condition and is it ever so pretty! Measures 53" across, is 20" deep, and stands 30" tall. Not to big, not to small, perfect office desk or just for show, this is one you will want to keep in the family. Obviously it has been refinished and somebody did a beautiful job. Nice ornate brass knobs and a really pretty inlay on the front middle. Rolltop desktop drawer wood antique NICE!
I believe this is oak. Beautiful grained wood antique desktop secretary. Roll-top set of drawers and shelves. 16" front to back X 10" side to side X 8.5" high The roll-top works smoothly and great! There are little shelves and one drawer inside. As you can see from the photos. And from the measurements listed below, some of the partitions are not as long front to back as others. From the bottom to the top: The drawer easily holds paper 8 1/2" x 14" I think that would include Legal sized papers) Shelf 9" wide x 15" deep Shelf 9" wide x 12" deep Shelf 9" wide x 8" deep Left cubby hole 4" wide x 7" deep Right cubby hole 5" wide x 10.5" deep We did do a small repair after we bought it at an auction(at a much higher price! But now I don't remember what or where, and ... moreit sure isn't obvious even when looking for it. There are a couple scratches and a small gouge on the left side- although it doesn't really show up in the photo(furniture scratch cover should cover the scratches and diminish the gouge if you want to go that route. The original gold label on the front is almost gone but you can make out the"G" Original white glass knobs. At least probably one has non-original screw in it. The other one has small chips. I think all the flaws make this unique and surely there is a story behind the places this piece has been and the things it has gone through. Needs deep dusting as you can see. Will ship UPS ground to continental USA for listed price. Will ship priority if you let me know and are willing to pay the extra(if any) If in HA or AK. Please contact me and we will discuss options. 1920 Antique Vintage Child Student Roll Top Desk Cork Screw Chair 1920's NICE

But if you want to arrange the packing and shipping on your own, I am willing to drive and drop this set off at whatever shipping company you choose within 20 miles of New London, CT 06320. Up for Auction we have an Antique Vintage 1920s Childs or Students Roll Top Desk with matching Cork Screw Chair. Now I am not a circa aficionado. So I can only go by what I was told, but back when I bought it, the dealer informed me that the desk AND chair are a MATCHED PAIR that are from the 1920's. He said the brass hardware on the drawers are consistent with that period, but is not certain if they are the actual ... moreoriginal handles that were on it the day it was first sold. Unfortunately, I can't remember the manufacturers name, but you might be able to tell by looking at the pictures. I looked it over and couldn't find any labels or markings. I love the little chair. The fully functional brass hardware and triple banister post back. Coupled with the corkscrew design for raising and lowering the chair height is such a clever and inventive design. It is also very strong and sturdy! They just don't make chairs this durable any more! You can truly feel the history when you see this set. It is a great little set. The desks roll top is fully functional and there are little cubby cubicles inside for storage. There are 2 smoothly sliding drawers with a skeleton key type lock. No key though. The desk and chair both have the appropriate normal wear and tear marks from the last almost 100 years. But they both are in pretty good shape considering they was used by children. You can see minor maintenance repairs here and there, but nothing major that I can see. Just stuff like a couple new screws here and there. Vintage Antique 1900's Tiger Oak Rolltop Desk - Original Finish - NICE!!
For your consideration. I have an antique tiger oak roll top desk from the early 1900's. This has the original finish- has a one inch hole at the end of one of the slats on roll top. It is 60" wide and 34" deep. One of the drawers inside needs the front reattached to drawer. This is in great condition with just a few imperfections! Great piece of furniture!
