Antique Picture This black and white picture of a gentleman dressed in a suit and tie is encased in an ornate metal frame with convex glass. The frame measures 14" in width and 25" in length with the image itself measuring 13" in width and 19" in length. The frame shows some tarnishing from age and previous display but the glass itself does not have any chips or cracks. The glass does show some scuff marks and scratches. The picture itself has a few white spots on the bottom. Some dark staining on one side and a few light scratches. The back of the frame has an attached wire for hanging and display purposes. Overall. Antique Wood Oval Picture Frame with Convex Glass and Gold Colored Metal Trim Purchased at a local estate sale. Small. Only 7 5/8" by 6 7/8" Hangs on wall from a small metal ring on back. Wood frame shows some rub marks. Some scratches and even what I'd term as some gouges(see pics) The damage doesn't detract from the look of the piece. Dark finish on wood frame. Lots of oxidation on the back. White(now kind of off-white) border appears to be paper. Border shows discoloration and water marks. Glass is gently curved. Though it doesn't show very well in the photos. Gold metal is nicely detailed. There is no backing for this frame. But one could easily be fashioned. Thank you. Back of the frame at one time had 4 brackets that held it in tight. They have been broken off. So I put 4 pieces of tape to make it more secure. I seen where you can by replacement ones for cheap but I don't want to mess with it I am unlucky when I mess with mirrors or glass. Also white mark on pictures#3 I took closer where you can see it. Has wire where it can be hung up. There is three places in the frame in case you want to hang it long ways or upright. Everything is in great shape. Nothing broken except brackets. This is a high quality antique Art Deco brass octagon shaped convex bubble glass frame with its original child photo. It dates circa 1920s or 1930s. Overall it measures 15 7/8 inches x 9 7/8 inches(40.3cm x 25.1cm) The back opening measures about 1/4 inch smaller at 15 3/4 inches x 9 3/4 inches(40 cm x 24.8 cm) The metal molding is 1 inch wide(2.54 cm) This is a beautiful and well made frame with great lines and dimension. It was probably a very expensive frame in its day. It's quite classy. It can be hung up or can stand. The velvet back has scuff marks and is lightly discolored. There's a very slight separation of the black reverse painted glass on the bottom(please see photo) But nothing major. Up for bids is a wonderful old picture of a boy and girl. Most likely brother and sister. I am dating it to 1880– 1899 period. The frame measures a large 22” long by not quite 16” wide. Often these black and white photos had hand color tinting on the faces to enhance the photograph as seen in this photo. The REAL photograph is in very good condition but there are some very tiny minute specks on the girl’s face and some on the boy’s skin. The tiger print frame is made of wood gesso with a tiger grain and is in very good condition for its age. However there are two hairline areas in the wood paint. One is approximately at 9 o’clock and the other at 6:35 o’clock. These areas are not broken and really don’t effect the frame itself. The wood frame could use a bit of cleaning or polishing. I will let that up to you. Someone has covered the original ... morecardboard backing with newer cardboard and newer old newspaper. The newspaper has articles from World War II. Antique Wooden Oval Picture Frame with Convex Bowed Glass with Photo
Unknown or age or maker. On the back of the photo is has 1806 and under it 663. The photo is like a velvet texture to it and has some marks on it. Sorta like mildew spots from storage. The glass is beveled out and I did not notice any cracks or chips, looks pretty good. It is 19" at the tallest point and 11 1/4 wide and looks to be made of all wood. I am not a professional and please let me know if I am incorrect on something. I describe to the best of my knowledge. Was purchase at an estate auction and I have no info on this what so ever. A gorgeous. Old watercolor provides a beautiful and perfect background for this WWI soldier's portrait. The painting features a glorious, waving, American flag with the American eagle at the top. No visible names or marks, but this is a special piece and it is impeccably accomplished. The frame is mahogany with gold stripe pattern and the picture is behind convex glass. The soldier is wearing a U.S. military uniform from the WWI era. His portrait has been enhanced with watercolor background. The backing is old and looks original. We have not removed or disturbed to check for names. It is in very good condition with some minor scuffs to the frame which can be easily resolved. ANTIQUE CONVEX BUBBLE GLASS TIGER WOOD PICTURE FRAME SOLDIER PHOTO NO RESERVE
For your consideration is this lovely antique bubble glass oval picture frame. It is gesso on wood with tiger pattern wood. The photo is of a man that appears to be a soldier or at the very least a man in uniform soldier. The picture of the man is in fair condition with fading and a tear in the paper at the foot that measures approximately 1 1/2" inches long. There are a few spots along the edge of the actual frame where the gesso had been scratch up. Mainly at the 4& 5 O'Clock position on the frame. I tried to take several pictures the condition and quality. There are no chips or cracks in the bubble glass, the glass in excellent condition. The frame measures approx. 25" inches tall by 19" inches across. It does have some damage and needs a good cleaning, but its a great frame and glass. Antique octagon metal picture frame with convex bubble glass US Army WW2 photo
World War Two Gold Colored Metal Frame Portrait of US Army Soldier.Outside size is 16" x 10" and inside size is 15 1/4" x 9 1/4"Its around 75 years old and in pretty decent shape.The backing of this frame is made of metal just like the front with metal tabs that bend inwards to hold glass,photo and backing on frame. Please use my pictures to determine condition and wear associated with AGE. The upper right corner of frame where two pieces meet is slightly seperated but very sturdy and solid. Not sure if it happened during its manufacturing or an accident. Antique Victorian Gold Oval Frame Colorized Portrait Woman Convex Bubble Glass
These elegant antique oval frames with the convex glass are so nice by themselves. But then to find such an interesting colorized portrait/photo of a woman with one is always a bonus. I'm not sure how these old portraits were done, if they are photos that had color added to them, but they certainly did a nice job on this one. This prim and proper woman, probably Victorian, or maybe Eastlake period, has blackish hair, blue eyes, and pinkish lips, and the background has hints of color also. It's not so easy to see these colors in my pictures. The portrait/photo and glass measure about 13.5" x 19.5" The sturdy wood frame is gold with ornately decorative sections(wood, gesso, or some other material) that were added on when it was made. It measures about 24 5/8" x 18.75" so it is quite a large frame. Condition: the ... moreportrait/photo is in really good condition, with the only notable flaw being writing on the back. There are very minor imperfections on the portrait/photo just from being around for a hundred years and having slight nails impressions on the back of the portrait from holding it in place. The gold oval frame is sturdy with the following flaws noted: one piece of thin decorative wood trim missing on the right side(about 1" spots on glass need better cleaning, some scratches in glass, some wear in gold paint, especially on side edges(see several views in pictures) some general imperfections in frame and paint, and writing on back of portrait/photo. Overall, a beautiful portrait and frame needing just a bit of TLC that doesn't appear to have been repainted because the gold looks like it is dull with age, not shiny new paint(you be the judge) so I didn't want to even try to touch up any paint flaws.
