The corners have fancy, shield-like, cabachon shaped decorative ornaments. The side edges have a tiny diamond pattern and the back edges have a geometric design. Probably 1930s, probably from France. There are no marks. It frames a cut to fit gold leaf image of Madonna and Child. It is easy to replace the image with whatever you like by removing four small brads. Height including bow and ball feet is 3 1/2" Visible image is 1.75" The original stand is separated but functional with intact cloth brace.
