The wood frame is kind of in need of fixing if you wish. I would leave it alone as I think it adds to the charm. The frame is toge th er and hangs well. The frame is 17 inches tall and 7 inches wide. There is tape on the back and I have not taken it apart. The frame has kind of a ripply effect and is painted gold although there are some parts that have flaked off. Original Victorian era print in original antique carved wood frame Print is dated 1879. Published by True& Co, Augusta Maine Copyright by True& Co 1879 Baby’s Birthday The dated information and title is at the bottom of the print– This original print was found in this frame. Frame is wooden with tiny carved floral. Or really more like a thin line of leaves in each of the four corners. Wooden frame with green paint. The print is in very good condition because it had been protected under glass. However. The glass pane was broken so I removed it. Print shows a view of Baby’s First Birthday– Infant is in a very fancy quilted lace bunting costume/ or possibly a Christening Gown in a deeply carved ornate tapestry covered chair. Child is holding a toy or something of that nature. A Bagpipe is lying over the top of the chair– Table to the ... moreside with a glass cake stand and glass candy jar– Some type of strange food item is on the cake stand with candies surrounding it– Floral posie/ posy/ floral bouquet to the baby’s left Very interesting complex print– Print goes to the very edges of the frame– all of the dating and titling is at the very base and is almost covered by the frame– please see the gallery photos that you can zoom and enlarge for the titling and close-ups of various sections- they are also a bit clearer- piece is better than my photos) Size: Entire piece measures approx 15 3/4ths by 11 ½ inches. Frame border– approx 1 ½ inch border. Condition: Print is very good. No chips or tears. All dated information. Publisher and title very good at the bottom of the print. Glass that originally covered the print broke, so there is no glass covering the print. Frame is good, but does show wear to the green paint and some chipping to the wood. CHARMING ART DECO PERIOD MAHOGANY FRAME– CIRCA 1920’s– WITH ORIGINAL FINISH. Contains a print from the same period– may even be a partial pencil drawing. Or maybe pencil signed by the artist. The print is in it’s original frame. So it’s difficult to tell. The print and the frame are circa 1920’s. A doctor. With his black bag, is listening to the young woman’s breathing, with his head against her back. Standing at the foot of the bed, is the chaperon, the guardian angel, watching everything going on. Lower right side of print says L’ANGE GARDIEN. Translated from French to be guardian angel. The print may be French or European- there is a name on the lower left edge– looks like G. HOFFMAN? The print is double matted. With some very slight discoloration on the lower right corner of the mat– hardly noticeable. The frame measures 16 inches by ... more19 ½ inches from the outside edges. Opening size for the glass and mat is 15 inches by 18 ½ inches. Frame and contents weigh about 4 pounds before any packing materials. Corners of the frame are tight- no spaces. No wiggle. VINTAGE WALNUT FRAME WITH COLORFUL STYLE ART DECO LADIES’ FASHIONS FOR THE BEACH. Frame contains a vintage print. The vintage print is circa 1960– 1970’s– a copy of some of the fashion prints from the old McCall’s or Ladies Home Journal magazine. The walnut frame is from 1920’s- 1940’s and almost looks hand made if you look at the back of the frame. Flat walnut molding for the frame with original good color finish. Outer measurements of the frame are 12 ¼ inches by 17 ¼ inches. Size of the opening for the glass and contents is 11 inches by 16 inches. The flat walnut molding measures over 1 inch wide from the front and about 1 inch deep from the side. Nice molding. A few superficial scratches on the wood. Tiny space at the upper left front corner– see photo. The print is in good condition– not torn. Not faded. Really looks like it ... moreis right out of an Art Deco magazine except that the size of the print is too large. Print has glass and cardboard backing. Print is good– not discolored. Not torn. Leaves and swirls, in greens, orange, and yellow. The painted wood has many places where the paint has flaked off. It is naturally distressed and there have been no attempts at restoration. The print is colorful but a little faded, and there is no signature that I can see. The paper is intact on the back and there is a wire for hanging. A very sweet. Petite Pearlized Celluloid Picture Frame. Celluloid is susceptible to staining, damage from heat(warping) and chipping. THIS LOVELY LITTLE FRAME SUFFERS FROM NONE OF THOSE ISSUES! It's one significant flaw is that the easel on the back, the stand, is missing. But, at least, there's no unsightly blemish, only a small mark where the stand attached. A small separate stand is easily substituted. It's s creamy yellow frame with the velvet backing in a pleasant mid green. It measures approx 6" x 4 1/4" The oval opening for the photo or print is 4 1/4" x 3" The charming print in the photographs goes with the frame. Mountain, Adirondack Style, Vintage Framed Art Print
This is a small but enchanting print of a mountainous setting with log cabin next to a flowing river. Beautiful snow capped mountain in background. Could be Colorado. Could be the Adirondacks. Would look great in a mountain camp or lodge. There is glass over it that has protected it from fading and tears. Print is in very good condition. Measures aprox. 7 inches by 4-5inches. Beautiful Engraved Antique Wood Picture Frame with Print Approximate size(edge to edge) 13-1/8" x 10-5/8" x 5/8" deep(just a bit over) The print is entitled"Christ in Gethsemane" by Hofmann. Johann Michael Heinrich Hofmann(1824-1911) was a German painter. His work entitled" Christ in Gethsemane" Was one of his most famous. It was completed in 1890. The original hangs in the Riverside Church in New York. This print is a publication of Edward Gross. Inc. The print is in very nice condition with only the rear paper torn. There are two nails and string attached to the back. With some writing and a sticker on the back. And along the edge(a series of numbers) The frame is beautifully engraved and accented with subdued matte gilding. This listing is for a Beautiful print and frame. The print has some dirt spots on it where dirt got in between the print and the glass. I didn't attempt to clean as I was afraid I would damage it. The flaws show in the pictures. The print is by F R Harper. Who is mostly known for his Indian paintings. He was born in 1876 and died in 1948. I wasn't able to find very much information on him. This print is called"A Gift from Heaven" I assume it is from the 1920's but I am just guessing. The backing to the print is from an old cardboard movie poster. I'm guessing it is from"The Four Just Men" at least that is the only movie that I could find that it might be. The frame is unique and beautiful. It is carved wood. Has blue paint that is worn in several spots. The only thing I see wrong with it other than paint ... moreloss is one corner doesn't meet perfectly but it is still in very sturdy condition. Measures 10 5/8ths by 13 5/8ths inches not counting the design on top of frame. It was framed in Brooklyn. New York but I cannot make out who framed/made it. I can only make out the last letter of E. I fell in love with this print. Frame and all when I saw it. If it doesn't sell after a few trys I will keep it I do not combine shipping unless you wait for an invoice.
