This little trunk measures 15inches long by 8 inches deep and 8 inches high. ... moreThere was no tray with this trunk when found but one was built for it out of oak and poplar. The trunk itself is made from pine and is metal bound. All the metal has been hand burnished but enough of the patina has been left to preserve the antique character of the piece. The lock is an Eagle lock and the latches function but are no longer spring loaded. The trunk has been refinished in a golden oak stain with multiple coats of sealer both inside and out. The original covering has been left on the underside to give a sense of the original look. The trunk is in overall good shape but because it is over 100 yrs old there are dings. Dents splits and cracks but these are minor and add to the overall antique feel. It is a very well made solid little trunk that will last a lifetime if cared for. These well made doll trunks are becoming quite rare and usually don't last long when listed. Shipping is FREE.

Antique Eastlake Victorian Black Forest Picture Frame; walnut, old surface
Up for bids we offer this antique. Black Forest, picture frame at no reserve. From the Victorian period, it's made of walnut with a grooved surface and cut and carved corner medalions. The wood still has its original shellac; we cleaned it up but otherwise it's unrestored. The inner frame still has its original plaster and gold leaf paint with only minor aging flaws. The frame's overall measurements are 9 1/2" by 7 3/8" and the opening is 6 1/2" by 4 1/4" It's well-built and still tight and sound. It's right out of an old home where it had been hidden away in the attic for decades. It's in very good, overall condition and is missing only a small pointed piece of one of the corner medalions which doesn't hurt its appearance. Switzerland. I was fortunate enough to be allowed into their archives and privileged to purchase some of their antique stock that had never been circulated. This auction is for this magnificent tall hand carved table top easel to hold a large photo or a painting. The body is carved to make the wood look like twigs and give it a semi rustic appearance. The top is decorated with three glorious delicately carved Edelweiss flowers. This is an amazing masterpiece carved by the famous Fluck Dynasty of Brienz. Offered for auction are these rectangular-oval picture frames with Godey like hand painted fashion prints. Shaped outer framing with inner frame or liner as a flat piece of wood with an oval deeply cut out to form the opening. The four corners of the flat liner have inscribed lines that form scrolls and framing of black lacquering and gilt lines. The inside of the oval opening is deeply recessed with gold gilding. Next a gilt liner, next a black lacquered chip carved liner, next another broad gilt liner. the mats consist of a grey outer mat with shaped and cut out sides, next a vibrant under mat in a dark red velvet and then an inner liner with gold gilt flecks. I PICKED THIS UP AT AN ESTATE SALE. MAINLY BECAUSE THE FRAME WAS SO DEEP. DEEPER THAN MOST MEASURING AT ALMOST 3" DEEP. THERE IS A PICTURE AND IT LOOKS LIKE CARDBOARD TO ME OF MRS. RICHARD YATES, PAINTED BY GILBERT STUART. THAT IS WHAT THE STICKER ON THE BACK STATES. THE LADY HAS A BONNET ON HER HEAD AND SHE IS SEWING. I WOULD THINK THIS IS A COPY OF THE FAMOUS ONE. IT IS THE FRAME THAT I AM ACTUALLY SELLING BUT PICTURE IS INCLUDED. AND THAT MEASURES INSIDE 8 X 10 AND OUTSIDE MEASUREMENTS ARE 12 1/4" X 14 1/4" AND BEING ABOUT 3" DEEP. HARD TO GET AN ACCURATE MEASUREMENT BECAUSE IT IS AT AN ANGLE. AGAINST THE PICTURE THERE IS A INCH OF GOLD ON THREE TIERS AND THERE IS SOME WOOD MISSING LIKE 1/2' IN THREE SPOTS, ONE SPOT SHOWN IN THE THIRD PICTURE. Antique Victorian Walnut Deep Well Frame Black Lemon Gold Liners for 8x10"
Up for auction is an antique Victorian era deep well walnut frame with black and lemon gold liners recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. There are losses and damage to the lemon gold liner as well as surface scratches on each side. So some repairs will be warranted. The old original eye hooks still remain but no wire nor the original glass or mirror. It fits an 8x10 piece of either or canvas. At some point this has been reglued- typical as glue from that era does not usually make it into this age. The whole piece overall is 12" x 14" x 2" from wall, heavy wood, still sturdy. You are looking at a most wonderful mid-19th century deep dish American Walnut frame with true gilding as the inner frame. In about the best condition I have seen in many a moon-I just got a grouping of frames earlier in the day from a picker who found them in the attic of a large Burlington Hill Estate garage. The first of the frames is the one above-just about flawless-exterior size 12x14 inches; interior size 8x10.
