Antique Birds Eye Maple Veneer Picture Frame, Small, Wide, Birdseye
Offered for sale is an antique birds eye maple veneer frame. This is a small frame. And very wide moulding. The rabbet size is 9 3/4" X 6 3/4" with some allowance. The outside size is 14 1/8" X 11" And the moulding is almost 2 1/2" wide. So this is a very chunky, bold frame. The sight size is 9 1/4" X 6 1/4" with a rabbet depth of 3/4" plenty of room for almost anything. This has a wonderful patina and original finish. There's a few spots where the veneer is missing. And you can see in the fourth photo, there was a piece of veneer loose that was glued down. I cut this frame down from a larger one many years ago. And never used it. It sits flat, isn't warped. Nice and t i ght corners. really problem free. This could be used for many things. And of course can be hung the other way. Wide Antique Pine Picture Frame, Cottage Shabby, Very Unique, One of a Kind
This was a n antique gold leaf frame. Probably dating from around 1900. That the gold and gesso have been stripped, and what is left is a wide pine frame. You can see in the picture that there's one line of gold left. The sides are mostly white(gesso) With a little gold still left here and there. This was probably a beautiful gold leaf frame. And the gold had started to come off, so some one stripped i t. It's actually pretty neat looking as is. But it's somewhat rough. There's some gold l eaf and gesso along the outsides. As well. I'm not sure exactly what shabby and chic is. But maybe this fits in that description. The rabbet size is about 7 1/8" X 9" The moulding is a good 3" wide, so the outside size is about 13" X 15" The depth is about 2 1/2" A nice. Deep frame, can be l eft as is. I'm not sure how the picture was done and if it is painted then I don't know what type of medium it was done in? As said before the frame is very ornate and is finished in gold. This middle to late 1800s frame measures 23 1/8“ x 29 1/2“ overall with 15 1/8“ x 21 1/8“ reveal and 16“ x 22“ back rabbet opening. This frame is made of wide old pine boards with pleasantly molded inner reveal and original grungy semi-opaque red finish with attic filth and nicks overall. The upper right hand corner has a line of discoloration on the miter and the back has fragments of old newsprint ads that are at least 125 years old. Indoor picture above Here is a very beautiful antique water-gilded lemon gold picture frame. I really liked this one as it has much wider molding than normal in these types of frames.The molding is almost 3 ins. wide.The entire frame measures 15 1/4 x 16 1/2 ins. while the insert rabbet is 10 1/4 x 12 1/4 ins. The frame is in fair/good as is vintage condition with the typical surface scrapes/chipped gesso/crazing that this finish is known for. It used to house a 1870s chromolithograph. So it dates to that time as well. Outdoor pictures The outside edges are not gilded. So this may have been a large inner molding liner for another larger frame at some point. Small Brass? ANTIQUE Oval Bubble Glass FRAME about 7" tall 5" wide VG hanging
It seems to be a photo or print of a cherub angel but I think it is more valued for the frame and small bubble glass cover. Measures almost 7 inches tall and a bit over 5 wide, seems to be metal frame. You can see a tag was removed from back pulling off some color so perhaps it is just brass plated, I don't know. The back is interesting, sort of a shallow bowl rather than perfectly flat, maybe to accommodate the bubble glass?

Please see our other sales for more nice frames. This 1890-1905 30 5/8” x 35 5/8” frame has a 21 5/8” x 26 5/8” reveal with 22 1/4” x 27” back rabbet opening and 4” wide molding. The solid oak molding has a nice massive profile with delicately molded edge. Broad flat inner field and reveal framed by lemon gilt gesso ovolo molding. The surface is a grungy very old, smeary gold(early 1900s) over original metal leaf and natural grain texture is visible. It is sturdy and usable with some expected wear and miter gaps and some tiny losses in the delicate egg and dart. The lower right corner has a chip/loss in the wood. Large. Heavy Victorian art nouveau Antique oak and gesso picture frame. Overall Measurements 28 inches wide by 32 inches. Sturdy as New. It is missing some gesso but this frame is definitely worth restoring. Inside measurements are 20 X 24 inches. Molding is 4 1/2 inches wide and 1 3/4 deep.
