The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. I would assume that this was not an inexpensive frame in it's day. It is in super condition, with only very slight blemishes- VERY slight. Thanks for viewing this auction.

First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. ANTIQUE Victorian Aesthetic CARVED Black Lacquer Ebony Picture Frame 1800's WOW
This is an Antique Picture Frame. It dates from the mid 1800's and measures 12 3/16ths by 14 3/16ths inches. It is black lacquer over wood with gold gilt. This is frame in frame construction. One wood frame inside another. The outer frames black lacquer is cut or carved to reveal the chalk or plaster underneath that is over the wood. Shown in my photos is a corner view of the construction and a view of each corners hand cut decoration. It has a cheezy 1960's Robert Wood copy print in it, I'm sure you can do better than that! Good condition for its years, but not without minor flaws.

Don't pass this one up! A gorgeous. Ornate picture frame from the Victorian era, in fantastic condition. Beautifully made, this wood frame has very elaborate carved flowers and scrolls decorating the corners and center parts of the frame. There are a few very small, minor losses to the frame and I have taken photos of those. This is a solid frame and is in excellent condition for its' age. The frame will fit a work of art that is 16 x 20. The overall size of the frame is 20 x 24. The reverse side of the frame has an old cotton cord still attached and has some old pieces of backing paper on the edges. Frame does not have any glass or backing board. It is found in good used condition. There are half flower style flower carvings in a repeating pattern form. It may be hand carved. Regardless, it is of very fine quality. Antique VICTORIAN Adirondack WALNUT Bark Carved GILT Picture Frame 18 x 22
Here is a beautiful old antique walnut picture frame. Made in the Adirondack style with carved bark molding, and inner gilt with striped tiger gilt gesso. The entire frame measures 20 1/2 x 26 1/2 ins. while the insert rabbet size is 16 1/8 x 22 1/8 ins. The molding is about 3 ins. wide, and it has a deep cove appearance. The frame is in fair as is condition with a piece of gesso chipped at inner right bottom side, could be touched up with gold paint or left as is. The frame has some mild surface scrapes/scratches common with age. It is a tad wobbly, you would probably consider re-gluing the miter joints for stability.This frame can be used vertically or horizontally. I would date this frame to the 1870-80s time period. Victorian cross-bar frame heavily decorated with heart and layered diamond pattern. C1900. The edges are carved out to provide texture and covered in old varnish. Antique Victorian Wedding Picture portrait in a carved Wood Swivel Frame
This is an adorable old picture. It is framed with a pretty Victorian border. The framing paper does show age and minor damage. The corners of the paper are tearing slightly. There is a notch towards the bottom that may have held a nameplate of the couple. The frame is beautiful with a hint of gold paint that has faded to a dull bronze color. The frame measures 91x10.5: Other than the paper. This is in excellent antique condition.

Antique Lg Ornate Carved Gesso Gold Gilt Wood Picture Frame Late C19th Victorian Up for auction we have this antique estate-rescued extra large picture frame. This is a very nice quality frame with gold leaf- showing great craftsmanship. Character& style. The frame has thick sculpted. Elaborate& ornate gesso. It has wide. Thick moldings, that total 4 1/2 inches wide. There are 3 distinctly different parts to the frame. The outer panel is 1 1/2" wide- it is a simple gold leaf panel with a curved molding The middle panel is 2" wide- it is the most ornate part of the frame. It has a beautifully carved design that repeats every 4 1/2 inches. The inner panel is just over 1" wide and is a gold leaf panel with a 1/2” wide ornate carved design on the inside edge. We do not see any makers marks or names. The two original hooks ... morefor hanging are still attached to the eyelets on the back. The back of the frame is a dark aged wood- this is an old frame. From our research we believe this from the Victorian era. The late 1800s. The i nside rabbet measurements are 40 3/8" x 18 1/8" The outside frame measurements are 48 3/4" x 26 3/4" The moulding measures 4 1/2" wide and is approx 2" thick. This frame weighs approx 8 lbs. The frame is in very good vintage condition. The wood has no cracks or structural damage. The gold leaf has age expected patina and light hairline cracks. As you can see in our pictures. The gesso finish has some minimal losses. We have made no attempt to clean the frame to preserve the age patina. Please look at our pictures and ask any questions you may have. We are not experts on antique frames- we have tried to research this area as we will be listing several antique frames that we have rescued from old estates.
