FIVE 5 DAY AUCTION Gorgeous genuine French antique wooden gesso frame Napoleon III or Victorian era with stunning original convex bubble glass. These beautiful frames would shelter from dust communion and wedding crowns or precious crucifix/cross. Originally black painted. This one was at a time painted in lovely Gustavian grey, giving it a very trendy shabby chic look. Measurements are 20" x 16"3/4(50.5cm x 43cm) The frame is 2"1/2 H at its highest point(6cm! No cracks nor chipped sections. Excellent condition and so rare in such a large size. It would now be perfect to frame a large photograph or painting. Also the glass could be removed to insert a Mirror. A stunning château chic display full of grandeur and so hard to find such bubble glass frames in perfect condition!

Curved outward old convex shaped glass in excellent condition, no scratches, tiny bit chippy on edge in places, that fits into frame from back. Veneer is really nice with maybe a few tiny scuffed spots on edge. All beaded wood lining the oval interior are intact. Great dark and gold"tiger" pattern veneer.

Captain Joseph and Hannah Juliand settled in Hornby, NYS, now known as Greene, NY. Their son, Joseph Juliand, along with his wife Cornelia, opened the Juliand House in 1810. This inn is still an ongoing business in Greene as a successful bed& breakfast. These early framed pictures were taken out of the bed& breakfast. We have been unable to find photographs of Joseph and Cornelia, but logic would suggest they are of the Juliand House originators.

There are some surface cracks on the frame but for it's age. That can be expected. The photo is pushed to the side of the glass, so there are some crack marks on the photograph. This framed piece has a story behind it that I could only imagine! I found it at an estate sale. In a box, wrapped in bubble wrap. It had been missing quite a few of the tiny nails in the back that secured it's contents. What was left of the paper backing was removed[in order to have the nails replaced] and what I discovered is what you see in the photos. The photo of the child was a replacement for the original photo of the man& woman. Which would explain the loose and missing nails in back. The frame is magnificent! Made of wood that I am unable to identify. Sorry. The glass is thick and other than needing a cleaning is in great condition. What you see in my photos is what you will receive. What a handsome couple and what a lovely frame. This is a metal oval frame with brass finish and molded. Pierced decorative metal mounts top and bottom and on each side. The overall length of the frame is 23 1/2" overall width is 15 1/2" The measurement of the actual opening is 13" by 19" This photo was in this frame when we bought it so of course I had to see if anything was written on the back. This frame is very easy to get into- brass tabs on the back hold the metal dust cover in place. Written in a scrawling hand on the back of the photo is a date"Aug 24, 1929" and a last name that might be"Benczar" or"Benazar" The pretty bride is fashionable in her short"flapper" style gown and immense veil and bouquet. Her groom is matinee idol handsome. The phjoto is sepia with just a bit ... moreof hand coloring on the fern fronds of the bouquet and a bit of the backdrop. The condition is excellent with only very minor nicks that you would associate with something that is around 100 years old. The frames are very ornate and colorful with a floral motif that is in excellent condition with very vibrant colors. The glass on the frames is in perfect condtion. The picture is of a black and white(yellowish color) with some green grass. It measures 19 ¼” tall and 16” wide. The picture is of a woman in front of an old farm house. The frame and picture are in great shape with normal wear from use and age but no major damage that I can see. VTG Antique Oval Bubble Convex Picture Frame Replacement Glass 11.5" x 8.5"
Up for bid is an old bubble glass for a picture frame. It is 11.5" by just under 8.5" It does have a scratch on the front. About an inch across, that is pictured above. However, the camera did not pic up on it very well. It's a whiteish color, about 2 inches up from the bottom, or top depending on how you set the frame. I did lower the price because of the scratch.

She wearing a dress with buttons and face is very nicely done a soft pink blush. Red lips and she is wire framed glass. I think it dates 1915-1920's era. The Gesso Wooden frame is Just Gorgeous with a heavy scrolling of pink and blues along the top and bottom and each side. This frame is Wonderful Condition.
