The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. Antique Victorian Picture Frame - All wood ornate design Gold 10 1/2 x 12 1/2
This is a beautiful Victorian frame. Oval with ornate design all around. Has a 1 1/2" depth. Has a pretty wedding photo in it that looks to be c1910-20. Can be easily replaced. Frame is in good condition. However has a couple of defects, two minor cracks in the wood that have been touched up and don't effect the use of the frame at all, its only on the front layer doesn't go all the way through. I have taken pictures of them close up. Frame measures 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 and the picture is 6 x 8. Very nice piece from the past. TERMS: Payment is due within 3 days from end of Auction. Antique Victorian Gesso Wood Gillded Picture Frame Large 18X15 Oval ~ Old Art
Up for bids at auction: Up for bids today is this round antique wooden gilded picture frame. This frame was an old estate find and is solid. And restorable/ usable. It has some cracking from age along with a place on the edge where the gesso has chipped away over the years and a few visible layers of old paint(see pics) and is just as found. It measures 18 inches long, 15 inches wide on the outside; inside the frame is roughly 11 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. On the back side, it is made to take a square piece of glass measuring a little over 12 by 9 inches. The lip for the picture/ glass measures roughly 3/8ths on an inch deep. Not much else to add; it’s a beautiful old frame and would make a wonderful addition to the collection or for use in a project. Please inspect the pictures and feel free to email with any questions. Beautiful Victorian Oval Wood Frame Wood with gold. Interior is an orange color. This is a deep frame, like a shadow box. The depth of the inside of the frame front to back of frame is about 3" Frame 13 1/2" x 11 1/4" opening is 8" x 10" The frame is made of wood and pieces do not separate other than the glass. The glass rests in the front but was held in place with tape. Also glass appears to have been chipped into an oval not cut with glass cutter. No back is present with this piece. I am not an expert of art. But, I would date this print and frame to the late 19th or perhaps the early 20th century. The frame is lovely with deep well effect. There is one area on the bottom where some of the gold has chipped off, very small and hard to see as someone tried to cover it. This could easily be repaired and covered. The original back has been replaced. The print is lovely of a little bright eyed girl in what appears to be Victorian dress and hat. Overall measures 25 1/2" tall by 19 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep. Beautiful antique Victorian Eastlake hand painted gold accented shadow box frame. This piece is in overall good antique condition. With some wear from age to the frame. It has some slight nicks, but no big chips. Very nice piece. There is a chip to the wood piece that holds the pictures in place, it won't be seen when it is in use. Great estate find! Antique Victorian Picture Photo Frame Griffin Heraldic Lion Wood Wooden 4.75x8
This is a beautiful antique wooden frame that likely dates from the Victorian Era. On the front is carved what appears to be a griffin or heraldic lion; it is quite ornate and aesthetically pleasing. It will hold photos that are up to 8 1/8" tall and 4.75" wide. The photo is inserted into a slit on the top. It is 6 3/8" from the bottom of the photo"drop" to the top of the viewer frame. Which means if the photo is 6 3/8" high it will reach the top of the viewer frame. It can be up to 8 1/8" high and still be held behind the wood. The frame opening is about 3 5/8" x 5 3/8" The entire frame is 8"x10" Some of the hardware on the back looks to have been added later. The frame has some wear from handling and use. It is structurally sound, but on one side the pieces of wood are separating(see ... morephoto) Again, though, it is structurally sound. This would make an ideal decor item. Gorgeous antique vintage very large picture frame. Wood and gesso composition on this very large picture frame. Very ornate gold design on both the large outer border and smaller inner border. Don't mind that there is a portrait of a cute little dog! Just found today at an estate sale. The estate's brother told me that this was an old family pet that had since passed on. The frame itself measures a whopping 26 1/2" x 30 1/2" The interior measurements are 16" x 20" Very nice condition ~ I had to look closely at the frame to see if I could find anything wrong with it. And with the exception of a few tiny spots of the gold missing in the gesso, it is very nice shape. The glass was replaced when they put the portrait of the dog in it, as it looks like it is non-glare type of glass. This is a stunning pair of antique Victorian era oval picture frames that are identical and in very good condition. All of the floral gesso designs on the frame are complete and intact and the wood is excellent. The paint is all intact(a few scratches have been touched up but they blend in well) The black is still glossy and not faded and the areas of floral gesso have gold accents. There is no glass included for either. And the photos that are in the frames are rough. There are screws on the back with wire attached for wall hanging, but the wire will probably need to be tightened or replaced because it seems to be too long. The frame dimensions are 21" W x 25" H. I'm not a dealer but I know it is Eastlake. There is a frame of gold on the interior surrounded by 2 layers of walnut wood frame. Both walnut sections have intricate carvings of eastlake flower designs.typical of eastlake. This frame is a deeper frame than some others that I have. This is 3" deep. Although the front part of the frame is pretty good. The sides that are Black painted are rougher. 3 of the 4 sides have chipping of black paint. Looks like it was scraped on something. It can certainly be repainted black on the sides but I just never did. I bought the frame this way at an estate sale.
