There is a teeny sliver chip on the side of one shade near the fitter(barely noticable only mentioned for accuracy) and a thin line on the fitter tab of the other one that is not seen when shade is in fitter. See pictures. The electrical and switches do work but they have cloth wiring and should be checked by a professional or rewired. See picture of one of the sconces lighted. c1930 Amazing PAIR French ART DECO NOUVEAU BURL Walnut Elm Antique Frames
I am con stantly amazed at the s tuff i come across. T hese are a n excellent pair of c1930 possibly French Art Deco burled walnut or elm vene ered frames. I am guessing a bit at them bei ng French but i do know they are from Europe. Amazing burled veneer that i believe is walnut but could possibly be elm too. Out stan ding condit ion with no losses to the veneer and a beautiful golden patina. Each frame has three rosette de corations at the bottom. A metal ri ng at th e top and a half round leaf and berry accent p iece on each side. Solid lap joint const ruction. Frames measures 22 1/4 x 26 7/8 with a 15 7/8 x 20 1/2 rabbet and a 15 x 19 1/2 viewing area. Would make a beautiful pair of mirrors. Please email with any questions. It is found in good used condition but with the condition issue that it is missing its easel back so it is no longer free standing. The original screws which would have held the backing are missing. The original pegs are still in place and may need to be removed. There is no glass. A new easel backing can be added or worked as a wall hanger. It will accommodate approx 4.25 x 6" art piece. Beautiful Engraved Antique Wood Picture Frame with Print Approximate size(edge to edge) 13-1/8" x 10-5/8" x 5/8" deep(just a bit over) The print is entitled"Christ in Gethsemane" by Hofmann. Johann Michael Heinrich Hofmann(1824-1911) was a German painter. His work entitled" Christ in Gethsemane" Was one of his most famous. It was completed in 1890. The original hangs in the Riverside Church in New York. This print is a publication of Edward Gross. Inc. The print is in very nice condition with only the rear paper torn. There are two nails and string attached to the back. With some writing and a sticker on the back. And along the edge(a series of numbers) The frame is beautifully engraved and accented with subdued matte gilding. Up for auction is an absolutely beautiful miniature frame recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It has beautiful carved designs quite Art Deco or Art Nouveau style and despite the corners not being perfect the most recent glue job is holding just fine. Frames of this age don't usually meet perfectly to our experience. But we have not altered it in any way- it did come with bubble glass which was quite badly chipped all around and not worth shipping as it will disappoint for sure and detracts from the beauty of the frame. This will hold canvas art board or glass 6x8" and is approx 7/8" so the overall is approx 7.5 x 9.5" The wire could easily be altered to a horizontal. This is a fabulous old frame with intricate filligree attaching the inner brass frame to the outer with delicate rectangular pieces. The outside is 12" x 10" with a wood grain matte to display an 8 X 10 photo. Some minor wear from age and the easel arm is broken off. But the front and surrounding edges of this frame are wonderful. It has 6 small holes on sides at the back for tiny screws to hold in picture/mirror/backing. We do not see any makers marks or names. This frame is metal. It is not magnetic- we assume it is a cast pot metal. See my other auctions for more vintage picture frames and other vintage items. This is a Art Deco/Nouveau 1910s through 1920s Era Picture Frame. 7x10 inch inner size for 7x10 inch print or photo. Outer dimensions about 7 3/4 x 10 3/4 inches. Very nice old frame. Carved or stamped double edge. Outer edge has diamonds with circles. A very art deco theme. Inner edge has dental carving. Gold gilt painted highlights. It does have glass. Probably original glass. I placed a few modern glazier points to help hold glass, but it has some of the original diamond shape glazier points. Has wire for horizontal hanging, but could be hung either vertically or horizontally, it looks like it has been hung both ways. VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE ORNATE ART DECO OR NOUVEAU OVAL SHAPED PICTURE FRAME
Old picture frame is painted gold with some wear to the paint. There is also what looks like some candle wax on it. From the reverse it looks like wood. Not sure if the carved looking front is wood- it could be some type of resin. Don't think it's gesso. Since where there is chipped paint, gesso would have chipped also. Outside measurements from widest points are 11 x 14 inches. Viewable measurements. Which are for the front and reverse, are 9 x 11 1/8 inches. The are no rabbet or inside edge measurements. Not sure how one would use this for an old print or other piece of art unless one could have a rabbet carved or cut. There are several holes on the reverse from where the original item must have been secured. Overall, in very good condition. This is old and probably dates to the 1930's or 1940's. Antique Faux Hammered Copper Wooden Frame - Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Art Deco
Measuring about 16¼" x 10¼" And featuring a faux hammered copper look and early 20th century decorative details, this frame is made of wood painted with gold leaf or goldtone paint. At the top center(at least with the top the way I've pictured it) the hammered copper look gives way to a decorative pressed pattern of arches and vines. I'll let you judge for yourselves, but in my opinion the hammered copper look is an Arts& Crafts feature, while the vines are more Art Nouveau and the domed lines of the arches are Art Deco. The window opening is about 13½" x 7½" For hanging it looks like someone once turned it upside down- with the arches hanging down like swags- and tried using a single nail through the top center. On the back there are also thumb tacks and remnants of string where someone ... moreelse tried a different method. The correct way. Of course, is with two small eye hooks and a length of wire. I'd do i6t myself, but it just adds another dimension to what is already a delicate and fragile packing challenge. The frame has some light chipping and surface scratches in the giltwork. VINTAGE 1900-1940 ART DECO/NOUVEAU GRAY/SILVER WOOD WOODEN SWING PICTURE FRAME
Here's a great 1920's/30's wood swing frame with glass. It stands about 13 1/4" h x 13" across the bottom and 2 1/2" deep at the base. With green felt covering the bottom. It is a two tone gray with silver accents and many places where the paint has been wore off. It will hold a 7" x 11" picture. Perfect for a treasured photo from your family! All our items are estate finds and are sold as is. They will all have signs of wear and normal use. We will try to describe any defects or condition issues. Vtg 11x14 art deco nouveau ornate wood picture frame original gold paint & glass
Excellent antique ornate wood picture frame with glass. Original painted finish- mostly gold with some tan background. 5/8" wide molding has three repeating borders. Outer swirls or waves. Inner triangles and textured middle. 11" x 14" rabbet. Outer measurements are approx. 12" x 15" and 1/2" deep. Excellent condition. Corners are strong and sturdy. New wire hanger. Removable clips added to hold in the glass. Glass needs a light cleaning. Antique Art Deco Nouveau Era Pewter Wood Frame 13" x 17" opening (12 x 16) Old
Great antique frame. Not too fancy, all wood, in a sort of distressed dark pewter color. Can't decide if it is more Art Nouveau or Deco but this frame is very od. The opening in the back is 13 x 17 so it would be great for a 12 x 16 item which would need to be matted. Actual frame is roughly 19.5" x 15.5" It's nice that this is an old frame with some detail but is not gesso which is way too delicate and chips. Has ring on top of it too which is a nice touch. A large old black and white photograph would look great inside of this. I think I can state that it is in very good condition. Its antique so it's not perfect. If you want a perfect frame then you can easily buy one new. Made to order. I see no major damages. However, its being sold as is. See my other items for sale. Ship
