Ornate Antique Victorian Carved Oak Wood Picture Frame
The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. I would assume that this was not an inexpensive frame in it's day. It is in super condition, with only very slight blemishes- VERY slight. Thanks for viewing this auction.

We have for sale a Pair of Matching Antique Vintage Victorian Deep Walnut Carved Gold Gilt Picture Frames. First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. Antiqued cove molded pine wood carved picture painting frame 20 x 24 rabbet EUC
Nice antiqued pine wood picture frame will accomodate a painting or print that measures 20 x 24" The rabbet is approximately 1/4" deep and wide. The actual frame is 28 3/4 x 24 3/4" a full 4 3/4" wide. It has three separate carved edges with cove molding in between. The frame is all one piece and is nailed at the top of each mitred joint. The carved surfaces may be applied strips of molding. It is hard to see beyond the gold(not gold leaf) or bronze finish. On the back there is an inscription: Happy Birthday. Love Martha and is dated 1993. The frame quality suggests an earlier date. At any rate it is a lovely piece, mellow and subtle with the wood color dominating and the gold just creating a quiet gleam. Great frame for your watercolor, print or perhaps even oil on board or paper. Since it is made of pine or another similar ... morelight weight wood, shipping will not be astronomical! CONDITION: There are a few places where the finish has been rubbed particularly at the top sides of the corners(not visible from the front. Antique picture frame from the late Victorian era(1900-1910) The frame has carved edges with a gold inner liner. Also. The decorative rope pattern next to the liner is carved wood, not gesso. The frame is made of a hardwood, probably mahogany. The frame fits an approx 9 1/4 x 11 1/4 inch print or painting. Its exterior dimensions are approx 12 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches and it is 1 1/8 inches high. The frame has been restored, including refinishing of the mahogany and is in very good condition. It still has a few dings, etc as typically seen on frames of this age. It is being shipped without glass.

From what I have seen, this appears to be a one-of-a-kind hand carved frame. Likely mid 1800's. Wish I had the picture that was in it. VICTORIAN FRAME MAT ~ Peacock Blue Velvet ~ Carved Celluloid Detailing
THIS AUCTION IS FOR A VICTORIAN MAT. The beautiful antique is the wooden interior section of a frame. Covered in dark peacock blue velvet. Framing the oval opening, for the photograph or print, is intricate open-carved celluloid trim. The celluloid is a(hard to describe) celery/bone/natural color. It is intact except for one 3/4" section which is missing, as shown in my photos. Overall measurements are 8 3/4" wide x 11" high x 3/4" deep. The opening measures 3 3/4" wide x 5" high. The back is uncovered wood. I displayed this. For many years, on it's own without a frame around it. It could be inserted in an existing Victorian frame very easily. THANK YOU FOR YOUR BID!

ANTIQUE HAND CARVED Gold Leaf ITALIAN FLORENTINE PICTURE FRAME for KPM Plaque
Here we have a beautiful antique carved gold leaf Italian wood frame. It has a wood plaque of a saint in it now but would fit a painting or porcelain plaque. It is gorgeous but it does have damage. The left side has been broken off and repaired. It is very stable and looks& displays well. In addition. On the same side 3 curls on the front have been reattached. The center would fit a 7H x 5W inch work of art. Please notice how high the relief is on the front. Even in this as is condition it is amazing. Thank you.

I have owned these frames for over 25 years. They are in excellent condition. Most of time they have been in storage as I didn't have room for them. All six have matching doll themed prints in them. But you could easily change out print it you wanted to use just as frames. Prints were done(stickers on back) by company called Image Arts out of Noblesville, IN(they are no longer in business) Wooden carved frames are very unique PLUS the beveled/concave glass adds an extra special touch. One picture does have damage to the wood carving on inside edge- see picture- ALL OTHERS ARE IN GREAT CONDITION with no damage. You can see sealing of pictures and back are in excellent condition as well.

Maybe earlier. Frame is wood with applied gesso carving. Gold tone finish is almost like a glaze. With a dark background contrast that really emphasizes the floral carving. Original gold gilt on the frame. Condition is good– no pieces of the gesso carving missing. Frame has glass(opening for the glass is 8 inches by 10 inches) and old wood backing. A few remnants of paper covering that must have been on the back. The frame could be used vertically or horizontally. The opening on the back of the frame that holds the glass and backing is almost 3/4 of an inch deep– deep enough to hold a wood stretcher if you wanted to put a painting in the ... moreframe. A set of 3 feather art birds with painted trees. Leaves& background The 3 carved wooden frames match. As does the painted background These are quite elaborate birds with long tail feathers. A crested head, a variety of feather types& colors. The background has green/yellow leaves with pink& white and blue& white flowers along a tree branch. The beaks& feet are also painted. They measure nearly 5 1/2 x 8 inches The backs have the original paper tape& are stamped Hecho En Mexico. Here& there are sections where the paper tape split at the inside edge of the frame. But it is intact, all the paper is still there- it is not dirty or ragged- I would still consider it in good shape. They each have a thick cloth( loop for hanging.
