Description: This is a superb antique L&JG Stickley Morris chair from the early 1900s Mission and Arts& Crafts period in very good condition. The piece is made of superb quarter sawn oak with a good original finish. The chair has excellent form with six slats under the arms. There are through tenons at the front and back of the arms and corbels beneath. It is double pinned at the bottom and there are original adjustment pins at the back. The upholstery has been redone in newer tan leather with springs in the seat cushion. The chair is signed with an early red decal and is very decorative and usable. The original label is intact on the bottom of the chair(see detail) The Morris chair is made of solid highly figured quarter-sawn white oak. The chair has been newly refinished in a dark oak stain in the tradition of the original. This JM Young chair measures 37" tall, 31" wide(across the arms) The back is adjustable(3 positions) The bar has been replaced in old quarter-sawn oak. Pair of antique oak chairs I have had a number of years. I upholstered them in a rust gold fabric and trimmed in a gold braid as that was my colors at the time. I have since changed themes and they no longer work No gouges. Normal nics from age, and need a dusting I see; Although we sit on them regularly. Heywood Wakefield Solid Tiger Oak Slat Back Desk Chair *Beautiful* Pickup Only
Local Pickup Only! This is truly a beautiful piece of furniture. This is a Heywood Wakefield solid oak slat back desk chair. I believe the wood might be a tiger oak but not 100% positive on that. The chair has a beautiful color and is very solid. The chair features a slightly curved back with slats and solid arms for support. The bottom of the chair has double rungs for added support. This chair is comfortable and sturdy. The seat measures approximately 19 3/4" across and 17 1/4" front to back. The chair stand about 33 1/2" tall. The chair is used and does show signs of light to average use but you can tell it was definitely cared for. Issues that I have noticed are one of the screw plugs/caps is missing. A couple of screw plugs may have been sheered(not rounded like the others) small nick on upper back of chair and wear on ... moreseat and arm rests which are consistent with age and use. Vintage Painted Wood Oak Slat Back Side Chair
For auction is one vintage 1920s-1930s era oak slat back chair. It is painted a grayish green color and has a metal tag on the back that reads"U.S. G.O.W. PROPERTY. B-13724, DO NOT REMOVE" It has a nice worn patina to the paint, and has been thoroughly cleaned. The frame is sturdy and solid. It is missing one of the wood plugs over one of the screw holes for the backrest(see photos) Seat height is 18.5" and is 18" wide, 16.5" deep. It is 35.75" tall.
