Lovely antique wood rocking chair with carved face design. Could be the"Northwind" design. This has a narrow back. 11" wide, and a 16" wide seat. It stands 36" tall. It is in wonderful original condition with no damage at all. It has dowels and screws both. I don't find any marks or makers name, but it looks like it may have been made at the turn of the century or so. A fine classic antique rocking chair for your home!

Up for auction is a darling antique wooden child's or doll's rocking chair. It has a very deco looking carved pattern on the upper back with spindles. The original woven seat is present but needs repaired. I am thinking a small woven rug would look great to cover it if you don't wish to spend the money for repairs. I don't know if the finish is original or not. I've taken photos so you can check it out. There are some numbers written on the bottom that do no appear to be original markings. The design pattern and the fact it has pegged areas is the reason for my belief it is antique- the original owner claims it is very old. But I find people will tell you what you want to hear. For your consideration. This lovely child-sized wood chair is hand-carved in the Georgian style with cabriole legs and a pierced back that is absolutely gorgeous. This bears a sticker underneath from Paramount Antiques Inc. New York. This is 25.5" to the top of the back. 13.5" overall depth, and 17.5" from arm to arm(at front) Seat height is 12.5" and is covered in an ivory damask that is lightly soiled. This could be cleaned and it's a simple wrap-and-staple seat, but there are bolted and glued-in corner supports underneath that would have to be removed in order to do so(see underside pic) The wood has light overall dings and scuffs mostly on the back of the back and the back legs. We are pleased to offer this exceptional. Antique(late 19th or early 20th century) chair. This beautiful, Spanish Mission(also chinoiserie characteristics) arm chair is ornately and generously carved. It features scrolled leaves with cactus blossoms and cactus flowers as focal accents. There are 19 spindles under each arm section as well as 23 spindles on the back. The back of the chair features a scalloped edge. There is also a carved upper border which features a carved outline toward the top of the back. The arms have beautiful, large, carved finials. The legs are faux crossed and curved. There is an abundance of carving on them also. There are 6 curved leg supports that run from front to back. While giving the chair additional support, they add interest to the look as well. The chair retains an older, yet very nice, cushion. It is cotton/linen ... moreand has a beautiful, Spanish flower medallion print. It appears to have been custom made for the chair seat. The chair is heavy is definitely hardwood; oak perhaps, we do not know. It is constructed with nails and flathead(straight) screws. It is in very good condition with very little evidence of use or age. The finish is beautiful and is a medium brown. There are only a few minor scuffs which are not distracting. There is one split that appears to have been glued at some point(see photos) It is holding beautifully but could be filled around the edges. It is located under the right arm just above the seat so it is not visible from the front and does not distract. One of the spindles seems to have been repaired at some point as well. It is only obvious under very close inspection. The chair is extremely sturdy and is, in general, FANTASTIC condition. The chair cushion is also in good condition with no staining, rips, etc. The chair measures as follows: It is 32.75" tall to the top of the back. This is a beautiful old child's rocker. It is over 100 years old. I can find no markers as to maker. The carved top is just gorgeous and the spindles add to its beauty. It does need to be tightened in a couple of areas and some of the spindles connecting to seat need to be glued. Still it is very good condition and I used it in my living room. My grandchildren have used it for a long time up until recently. It would also be a wonderful decoration with a doll sitting in it. Chair stands 28" tall and is 16" wide. It is larger than most child's rockers.

Antique Wood Carved Flower Child Rocking Chair
This really cute antique rocking chair belonged to my grandmother. It is made of wood and has a stunning carved flower on the back which is raised in design. I am not sure if the seat has been redone but it is a velvet type of material in a rich deep red color with black flowers. The chair is small for a child to sit and rock on or to put your favorite doll to display. Underneath the chair seat there is some black writing from a manufacturer of the seat. In nice condition with some light signs of wear and use. Especially for the age. A must have for any child or to decorate your home.

We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique chair. The chair dates to the late 19th or early 20th century and has been restored. The chair features carved wood frame with French. Louis XVI details. The chair has an ornate back with acanthus scrolls and flower medallion all in raised relief. The chair has sleek, curved arms with wide, paw like arm rests. The back legs are straight and nondescript. The front legs have cabriole lines and large paw/claw feet with nice details. The front legs are on metal casters. The frame has been painted at some point(not by us) and the paint does have a"milk paint" look to it. The painting has been expertly done with a beautiful color palette which is neutral but very striking. The colors of paint are a very light coffee/cream tan with a darker, chocolate brown as contrast. The flowers in the ... morecenter back have a blue tone to them. The fabric has also been replaced at some point. A patterned and textured, dupioni silk has been used on the seat. It features a cream or light tan back ground with a raised, geometric pattern. All marquetry parquetry wood pinwheels are intact, except on the back bottom side rail where I substituted ornate cones in place of where the missing pinwheels would have been. Upholstery fabric is odor free but lightly soiled in certain spots which could be cleaned up, and the fabric is a bit worn with age as is normal, but otherwise presentable and usable for this beautiful chair. Antique French Provincial Chair Damask Golden Seat Carved Wood Off White Distressed. We recently updated this solid wood chair with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a shade of country grey and pure white finish. Waxed for protection. The Damask fabric seat is original since we purchased although there are lots of upholstery nail holes so this is most likely not the original fabric. So pretty! She is 36.75" tall at the back, 19" wide and 17" deep. The seat height is 17.5" tall and the seat area is 17.5" wide by 14" deep. Nice accent chair, boudoir chair, extra dining chair, foyer chair etc. So pretty! Good condition. Noted upholstery nail holes across front and sides. Our carpenter added a rung on the bottom so that portion is new but remainder is all original wood. Pretty! French Chic!
