FABULOUS ANTIQUE ROCKER has been in my family for year. One leg is slightly loose but is still permanently attached to the seat. The rocker on the bottom measures 24 1/4" It looks like it has a carpet type materal for the seat and back. It is pretty worn. And has a tear on the seat. The edges are a little freyed too. It has nails used to attatch it to the frame. The pattern of the back and seat are a little different. There is a small split in the wood on the back of wood frame. Up for auction is a darling antique wooden child's or doll's rocking chair. It has a very deco looking carved pattern on the upper back with spindles. The original woven seat is present but needs repaired. I am thinking a small woven rug would look great to cover it if you don't wish to spend the money for repairs. I don't know if the finish is original or not. I've taken photos so you can check it out. There are some numbers written on the bottom that do no appear to be original markings. I will be listing several items from this same estate. He collected art work, rugs, walking canes, pottery, glass wear, primitives, collectibles, etc. Nice 1950's wood child's rocker. The family told me it was purchased new in the early 1950's and was their chair when they were little. Black with gold decor or house. Cow, fence, chicken, tree, sun, and birds and flowers. Measures 16" wide across the top piece. The rocker pieces on the bottom measure 24" and this is about 26" tall. Wood spokes. Rocks nice. Condition-nice preowned condition. Needs a good cleaning! This vintage child's or doll's rocking chair is in used vintage condition. It still has it's original finish and many scratches. Nicks and wear from many decades of love and use. Vintage Small Child/Todlers Rocking Chair ( Great Smoky Mountains ) Refreshed
Here up for auction is a saver! It's an old small rocking chair I found in a yard sale here in our Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and it was all busted up. It's been snowing up here and when it does I get bored and work on old things I find here and there. I replaced a broken piece that runs up the side of the back that holds one of the arms. It was drilled and fitted and glued then repainted with a gloss Navajo paint and topped off with a coffee bean accent paint. It's all solid again after going through all the other pieces and giving it a re-gluing just to tighten it up. It has been hanging around our mountains long enough and just needs a new home where it can be used and displayed as it most surely deserves. It measures 11 inches from the ground to the seat. The back is 30 inches from the floor. The seat is 15 inches ... morewide and 12 inches from the back to the front. I did leave some of the chips and small dents under the new paint to still give it the aged look. If it's used for a child or a plant stand it will surely catch the eye's of others when they enter the room it's in. I went with the colors I did because it will go with most any decor but can also be painted again to match. It's a saver is all I can tell you and I'm glad I did.It's awesome!
