Vintage Folding Wooden Rocking/Nursing Chair Bicentennial Celebration
Up for auction today is this wonderful Vintage folding chair. It looks to me like it has been repaired underneath the seat with those two pieces of wood(pic 11) But you make your own judgement. There is a brass plate on the back(Pic 9) The material is the 1776 bicentennial pattern and is in great shape. The chair has a few scrapes from wear. It is a low sitting chair 34" high to the top of the back of the chair, the rocker arm is 29" long. Seat is 18" x 17" Folds up great. Would be fairly heavy and bulking for shipping. I have owned it for a long time and until listing have been using it as a quirky display stand for a large orchid. This chair is in nice vintage condition. As you can see from my images. Not quite sure what the wood is- but it is a natural lighter coloured wood. The seat has holes drilled in it(in the making! and these form a star shape when viewed from above. As you can see. Govan, Glasgow was the largest Co-op in Scotland and made everything from Bon-Bons sweets to Bombs. During WWII General Bernard Montgomery done a tour of inspection of the"Flying Dustbin" landmine production facilities at the SCWS sheet metal factory, Shieldhall, probably in the early months of 1944. The fact that Montgomery visited Shieldhall to see for himself the production of these specialist munitions is an indication of the vital importance of the work being done ... morethere. The"Flying Dustbin" was a mortar shell fired from tanks or landing craft to destroy pillboxes and other defences, and it helped clear the Normandy beaches of both mines and enemy fortifications. Up for auction is a set of 3 hardwood folding chairs in very solid condition. Nice patina and all work as they were intended. Of course they have normal wear for a set of folding chairs this old. The middle chair you see has a little more of the varnish left on it then the others. Maybe it wasn't used as much but needs to be mentioned. Also there is some very old gum on the bottom of one of the chairs{picture 11} and will leave that up to the new owners to scrap off or not. Looks like it will come right off. Again some people want these left just as they are. None of the marks or bruises effect the workings of the chairs nor take away from the look we are all looking for. The original number tags are still on the top edges{picture 9} Throw these in the trunk and enjoy the beach or picnic and show them off! Vintage Round Sturdy Wooden Folding Chair Excellent Shape!
This is a very old chair that is in Great shape for its age. Just to give you an idea of how old it is there is an old sticker on the back that says"James R. Cady Mortuary. Ambulance and Funeral Service, Phone 7, 609 Hwy 61, Crystal City, MO" It's so old it has a single digit phone number. As far as the condition. It does have nicks and scratches but fits that part of being vintage. There are no cracks in the wood and the seat cover is in pretty good shape with some wear but no cracks or tears. I have 9 chairs just like this one in various conditions but none of them have cracks in the wood. A couple of them have cracks in the seat cover or flaking of the cover material, but nothing serious. I am interested in selling all of them if the buyer is interested in more than one. I also have one more chair that is identical to this ... moreone but slightly darker wood. I can get more pictures of the other chairs if needed.

Up for auction is a vintage wooden folding chair. This slatted chair is sized for a child. It measures 24 1/2" tall. With a seat bottom of 11" When folded, the chair measures 29 x 12 1/2 x 1 5/8" This chair is in great condition and very solid. I am offering for your consideration a Lovely Vintage Folding Rocking Chair. This Beautiful Chair is called a Sewing Rocker or a Nursing Rocker. It is wood and it measures approximately 31 1/2” tall x 17 1/4” wide. And approximately 31” from the front of the seat to the back bottom. The seat itself is approximately 17 1/2” wide x 17 1/2” long. The Seat and Back have a Tapestry Type Floral Material in beige back round, rose and aqua blue roses, with green leafs. The padding on the bottom is worn but the tapestry is in good condition. The Top of the Rocker has a Carved Flower Design. This Rocker does show pre-owned wear with scratches and marks along with worn areas on the bottom rockers. The Tapestry and trim are in excellent condition. UNIQUE TRI-FOLDING DINING ROOM CHAIR.restoration project- chair is solid This unusual hardwood folding chair has been lightly surface cleaned. But needs to be refinished and have the seat recovered. Makes for a great restoration project, as the folding mechanism works great and the chair is sturdy in the open position. The hardwood appears to be maple, but I am not an expert. The wood is in great shape, but some of the finish is peeling or worn. Opened position chair measures about 34" tall with a 15" wide x 14 1/2" deep seat. This is a nice. Sturdy, perfectly useable solid wooden child's chair that folds flat for storage. It is in very good condition with some minor scuffs and scratches, especially along the top edge and on the top surface of the seat. Nothing is broken, bent, or missing, and the finish looks good with some signs of age(darkening and minor loss in spots) It is a beautiful chair and would work well for a small child, a doll, or a bear. When open for use, it measures 14" L x 15" W x 24 3/4" H and the top of the seat stands 13 1/4" above the floor. It will be packed very well and insured during shipping.

And is 16" wide. Folded, 40" long, 16" wide and 2" thick. It does show wear. And may possibly have a few white paint spots. Please see pictures for greater details.
