This is a beautiful oak corner chair with carved arms and back. It has a recessed triangular seat& steeply placed armrests. The splat& crest rail are carved on the front& back side with rustic style X's. Lines, triangles& a flower. It does not have stiles but 2 carved pieces set at a diagonal. Which meet at the center back. The most similar chair to this that I could find on the web was listed as English. This looks like the arts& crafts period to me. It's in very good antique condition although it does have a crack running across the rear half of the seat( though one can still sit on it) There are a couple of little paint spatter drops on underside. The base is detachable and is connected by wooden screw blocks. The chair rotates 360 degrees. The chair is very comfortable is very sturdy.
