EAMES DSR CHAIR HERMAN MILLER EIFFEL BASE 50s 60s LIGHT GREIGE Description. Eames DSR eiffell based chair made by Herman Miller dating from the late 50s/early 60s. In a rare light greige original coloured fiberglass shells mounted on shockmounts with original eiffel base. Original Herman Miller stamps on shell. We infinitely prefer the original fibreglass shells to the modern polypropylene versions. As the patina is so lovely and they wear so nicely- a very important consideration with a house full of kids! In overall very good condition with just a couple of very small scuffs and marks here and there in keeping with their age but nothing noticable. please see photos) A stunning chair- total classic. Very collectable which would brighten up any room. The seat and base will be dismantled for safer shipping but can be bought fully assembled ... moreif so desired- please message. Colours(left to right in first image) are greige. Seafoam green, elephant hide grey and black. Original fibreglass shells mounted on shockmounts with Vitra Eiffel baes with black nylon gliders. The contemporary version of this chair(manufactured by Vitra) is made of polypropylene. Which in our opinion, is not a patch on these original fibreglass models, which age beautifully.
