We are pleased to offer this very beautiful. Antique to older vintage, French or English styled, Regency accent arm chair. This lovely old chair dates to the late 1940s. It features a gorgeous solid wood frame with beautiful, lower profile styling. The upper back frame is carved with acanthus leaf and acorn detail. The back legs are slightly curved and the front legs are fluted. The arms are scrolled which gives the chair a very lovely side profile. The chair has the original silk fabric in a golden hue. The fabric has a machine embroidered floral pattern. The flowers are a soft scarlet purple in direct light, but are more muted when not in direct light which gives the fabric great interest. The fabric is finished with nailhead trim. The chair has both the original manufacturer's tag as well as the furniture store tag still attached on ... morethe bottom. The chair was manufactured by the Charlotte Chair Company, Charlotte, Michigan. The chair was originally sold by the Furniture House in Columbus, Ohio. This is a beautiful. Chair in ORIGINAL fabric and finish. I also don't know what the wood is other than antique hardwood with antique white with GORGEOUS gold. The wood is carved all around the legs and in the back of them too. Distinctive and long CABRIOLE legs with carvings ... morewith gold! The chair is very solid and sturdy. The arms. Seat and back rest are cushioned so this is very comfortable. The chair measures 44 1/4” tall at the top of the crest, measures 24” from the wall to front leg. The seat measures 18" by 19" It is about 17 1/2” from the floor to the seat top. The chair is structurally VERY strong and ready for home or office use. Condition is really good for a chair this old or any chair! There is a little area 3/8" by almost 1/4" that looks like someone may have pulled the material with a ring they had on but it is small and not really noticeable. Please see last photo for it. There is almost no wear on the fabric of the main part of the chair and only some wear on the material on the arms and the little pull in one small place on the back. The wood is good too with just a little of the gold missing here and there but not bad too. Some wear to the gold where you would rest your hands on the arms. This antique child's or doll's rocking chair was made pint size at only 22 inches tall. But in imitation of the quality and techniques utilized in genuine adult living room furniture. Wow! The solid wood frame is upholstered in a golden yellow textured heavy weight fabric. The seat is cushioned and supported by dual springs which allow the user to rock back and forth on the sturdy well-turned feet. Classic warm solid wood arm rests complete this traditional piece of furniture. Pieced together with dowels, staples, and Robertson head screws, this unique find could have been manufactured as far back as 1909. However, its actual age is unknown. Preowned. The stain on the arm rests and feet has been worn away in some spots. But this reveals the beautiful wood grains beneath. The top right corner of the upholstered seat back has an area ... moreof wear 1/4" wide by 1/2" long, but the wear affects only the top weave of the fabric, leaving the bottom weave intact. ANTIQUE OLD CARVED WOOD FRENCH LOUIS XV PAINTED ARM SLIPPER CHAIR SILK FABRIC
We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique chair. The chair dates to the late 19th or early 20th century and has been restored. The chair features carved wood frame with French. Louis XVI details. The chair has an ornate back with acanthus scrolls and flower medallion all in raised relief. The chair has sleek, curved arms with wide, paw like arm rests. The back legs are straight and nondescript. The front legs have cabriole lines and large paw/claw feet with nice details. The front legs are on metal casters. The frame has been painted at some point(not by us) and the paint does have a"milk paint" look to it. The painting has been expertly done with a beautiful color palette which is neutral but very striking. The colors of paint are a very light coffee/cream tan with a darker, chocolate brown as contrast. The flowers in the ... morecenter back have a blue tone to them. The fabric has also been replaced at some point. A patterned and textured, dupioni silk has been used on the seat. It features a cream or light tan back ground with a raised, geometric pattern. The raised pattern has colors of dark chocolate, golden tan and medium golden brown. The fabric is accented with a decorative trim. The chair is quite beautiful. It has a lower profile(slipper style) and was probably a ladies salon or parlor chair. It is in very good condition and it is very strong and sturdy. There is one small area of surface fraying to the silk in the front of the chair(picture 11) It has not affected the body of the fabric and there are no holes. The fabric is slightly nubby in dupioni fashion. The chair is old and the age is evidenced by the dowels that attach the parts together. The chair measures 31.5" tall. Antique Traditional Wooden Italian Arm Chair with Fabric Covered Cushion This carved Italian wood arm chair deserves an appreciative owner who will give it some TLC. We are downsizing and don't have room for this tall occasional chair. Originally the chair had a canned bottom that was replaced by a shaped seat that was cushioned and fabric covered. Before it was handed-down to us. It appears to have been hand-carved, as some of the designs are slightly different. The legs have a lovely curved shape and the arms are slightly splayed. The back center splat has a fracture that is shown in one of the pictures. It could easily be repaired to like-new by a craftsman. There are scrapes and scratches on the finish after many years of use by the family. We don't know the type of wood used in construction but the grain is nice and it appears ... moreto have been stained with dark walnut. The chair would make a lovely addition to someone's home.
