It measures 25 1/4" high. 21" long rocking legs, 14" long arms with a 12" square seat. The seat cover now is a green velour fabric. Originally there was a leather cover for the seat. Under the seat fabric is a newer piece of wood for its bottom. There is a crack in the back of the chair that is shown in the last photo which does not go all the way through to the front. A real treasure! Shipping quote is for the lower 48 states and will be via FedEx Home Delivery which requires a street address. Other locations need to email for quote. The overall size is 23 inches wide across the arms, 17 inches wide on the seat, 19 inches deep, 40 inches high to the chair back, 26 inches high to the arm and 16 inches high to the seat. Beautiful oak folding high chair or rocking chair. This high chair is in wonderful original condition. And has the clever design that it has been built with that will permit the chair to be adjusted up and down making the chair into a rocker when in the lowest position and the high chair in the upright position. The rattan/wicker seat/backing is in great condition, no broken pieces. Approx. measurements: When the chair is fully extended it is 40" tall, folded it is 27" This piece dates to 1900 and there are no markings on it. The tray is also missing but it still makes a great little chair. I'm sure the spindles could use a bit of tightening up.

This is another great family piece. This was my grandfather's when he was a young child(born 1907) My late mother kept this chair forever. It has all the original mechanism brackets and bar. I think the cushions are not original. But are very old. They appear to have had buttons on them at one time. Cushions are not perfect, but are still very attractive on the chair. This is a nice one family owner piece with a great look and patina on the original finish. This has been carefully cared for throughout the years. Shows some minor wear being 100 years old and all, but far less than most still original examples that I have seen. Sanded, stained, multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer and a big reupholstered seat in a brocade fabric. The rocker has been all tightened up and is ready for years of carefree enjoyment. The multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer will ensure that the finish will last for decades. It is all solid oak, manly in size, but stylish in style. It has multi-turn solid oak spindles that the back posts go right into the solid oak seat. Oak front spindles support the rolled scroll arms that go into the seat. The base is all multi-turn with the original oak rockers and the back is all pierce carved or cutout like a saber sawn pattern. On top of the double press section it has multi-turn spindles that support the crest rail. This rocker is done in the style of Heywood Wakefield however, the original label is almost gone so I cannot make an exact identification. The rocker is early 1900's and is in good antique condition with a nice patina and firm tendon and srew joints. DESCRIPTION You are bidding on an antique solid oak rocking chair. About twenty years ago. I had the chair restructured by a professional restorer. It is still quite sturdy. The restorer added two steel straps under the seat to reinforce the rear portion of it. They can only be seen if the chair is turned over. There is a vintage embroidered cushion that is included. The cushion was professionally cleaned recently and filled with new foam filler. This chair is the right size to be used as a"granny" rocker or by an older child. Please note that this auction is for local pickup only. FEATURES. The chair is finished in a medium oak and features a back of tiger oak. There are six spindles on the back and three spindles plus a main post for each arm. The seat is embossed pressed board and is painted a chocolate brown. All the joints are tight and there are no splits or cracks in any of the wood. One of the rockers is held on by two wood screws as you can see in the pictures. This is a beautifully detailed tall-backed oak rocking chair. I believe the wood is called quarter sawn as it has a pronounced grain to it. The chair is from the early 1900s- late 1800s. The back slats are slightly curved to fit your back. Each of the twelve side dowels are carved with a bit of detail. The woven seat was newly replaced when I bought this chair from an antique dealer in 1991. The arm rests are curved and wide and have bentwood feature where they connect to the back of the chair. It is very comfortable and extremely graceful and classic looking. I just don't have room for it in my little apartment. I am listing it as pickup only, but send me an email if you'd be interested in having it and would want to pay for freight.
