From the Art Deco ... moreera. The chairs feature bent, walnut wood frames with substantial gilded/brass plated iron hardware and fabulous, cowhide leather seats. The chairs are nicely constructed and not cheaply made or designed. The have double, horizontal supports on both the front and back legs. Substantial iron hardware attaches the supports to each leg. The seat frames are also fashioned of bent wood. They have dark, chocolate brown cowhide cushions with its natural texture still present. The textured areas appear lighter brown in the direct light which give the leather a very rich look. The seats have a very thin layer of padding as opposed to thick cushions. The seats fold by a sliding mechanism which functions perfectly and the chairs operate as they were intended. The chairs are in very good condition with a worn finish to the wood. While this does add to the aged character of the pair, the chairs could easily be re-stained if you so desired. The brass plating or gilding on the hardware has also worn in most areas and the iron does have some"spotting" It is not rusted through, however, and it is in very good condition. This pair was originally used by a renowned local mortuary as seating in their chapel. They come from Klinger Mortuary which has been in business locally since 1907. Each chair has the metal"Klinger" name plate attached on the upper back of the arched frame. This is a very nice pair with an interesting history. They are quite gorgeous. The chairs measure 31.5" tall. When unfolded. They are 18.5" in depth(front to back) and 18" wide. The seats are 13.75" wide and 15" front to back. Antique Mundus chair from Vienna Austria. Carved wood. Great condition. Light surface scratches in some places due to age. The Original sales sticker is still attached at bottom of chair. Shipping: This chair may be picked up in columbus.Ohio area, or dayton area. VIA WIKAPEDIA.COM Mundus was the name of a furniture-manufacturing company. Active(at least) in several places in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, at the end of the 19th century and early 20th century. Factories seem to have existed in multiple locations. As the products carry diverse labels, such as"Budapest" Borlova" Czechoslovakia" etc. Some of the furniture was co-signed with"Jacob and Josef Kohn" In 1914 Mundus merged with J. J. Kohn. Rare Antique THONET Fiddle Backed Bentwood Chair

I found a local furniture daeler that sells on consignment. A Rare Antique THONET. Austria Fiddle backed Bentwood Chair with all the bells& whistles ca. late 1800's to 1930's give or take? The chair has the original stenciled or maybe burned in logo under the center of the front backside of the seat. The seats super cool it made of one solid piece of wood that's been bent back around onto itself. The what I'm sure was once leather seat is long gone, but it could be replaced. It has all the original hardware. The piece is about 35" tall from the floor to the top of the seat back. Antique Thonet Rocking Chair / Bentwood / Rocker "THONET Burned Imprint"
I am not sure of the actual age of this rocking chair but if you are here looking you might have an idea:o) Along with the"THONET" imprint there is either an X6 or 9X(not sure which of the two it is suppose to be) imprinted on several parts of the chair. The chair is in very well condition except for the ends of the rocker as you can see in the picture. The seat and backrest are not broken anywhere. There are a few spots of white paint on the chair. I did not want to attempt to remove it and mess anything up. There is also on broken screw on the bottom board. The piece that would be behind your ankles when seated. Also has nicks and scuffs. Before I start in about this chair I wanted to mention a bit about the shipping. I have the shipping maybe a bit high but lately I have been loosing my tush on shipping because I have been way under charging. I am new and haven't quite figured the shipping thing out yet. I will say this however. I am a very honest seller and will NOT ever charge anyone too much on shipping. That has been done to me and I refuse to do it to someone else. So, if I can ship it cheaper I absolutely will, and if it doesn't take that much to ship it then you will be getting a refund. I have up for sale a very antique genuine Thonet bentwood accent chair. This chair is solid especially for it's ... moreage. We have sat in it for years. Just don't have room for it any longer. This chair is 33 inches tall and 16 inches wide. I am not 100 percent sure what this chair is made of, meaning what type of wood. While it is a little smaller than a normal size dinning room chair for example, this chair is quite heavy for it's size. This chair is a bit dusty and probably needs to be cleaned up properly. I am sure it would look a whole lot richer if it had some wood polish on it, but I am never sure exactly what might harm or help a chair this age and I sure would hate to have run a rag over it with wood polish and find out that I just ruined it. I have that sort of luck you know, lol. Okay. So continuing on with this beautiful chair. From the research I have done it seems to me that Thonet stopped making this type of seat around 1880. I am certain this chair is NOT a reproduction because if you look at some of my pictures of the underside of the chair you can see that it has square nails in it. Vintage Bentwood Antique Solid Oak Kohn Mundus Thonet Art Deco Chair Poland
This is a very cool chair. The Following description is information I was able to find through my research on this piece. I don't personally know much about this type of chair. So I can only go by what I discovered during my research. Please look closely for yourself and make your own determination if the information is accurate. Up for auction we have an Ice Cream Parlor. Soda Shop, Bistro Style 1900-1950 Kohn& Mundus style Art Deco Bentwood Thonet style chair with a round super embossed hand carved seat. I believe it dates closer to the circa 1925 era. The chair has a 34" tall back rest and 18" tall seating area with a 14 1/2" diameter seat. When pushed against the wall it measures 17" deep from the wall to the front of the seat. The seat has an interesting carved lines and swirls pattern. The underside of the ... moreseat rim has a stamp into the wood that I believe says Made in Poland. It's difficult to make out. The back rest has the typical bentwood chair design which extends down the rear legs and is attached to the underside of the chair with old square head bolts. The back features triple turned spindle or pin back supports. The legs have that beautifully shaped bentwood look. I am not sure if this is the original color of the chair. Which has heavy wear to the finish. There is some sporadic paint speckles and spots here and there on the chair. The chair came out of an art studio, which explains the paint. I'm sure if you wanted to clean it up and bring it back to original condition, it would clean right up with minimal effort. The chair is very solid and sturdy with no loose joints or screws. The AMAZING THING is that every inch of this chair says NEW-except that it was found layered in very old dust and spider's webs even though it was underneath a dust cover! We had no clue at all to suggest that we would find what we did once the dust was washed away(it was too stuck on to be wiped) As' inch-by-inch of dust was removed, more-and-more sparkling NEW CHAIR was revealed! They measure 33 inches in height, 18 inches in seat height, 21.5 inches from arm to arm, 18 inches in seat depth. They are original finish. The felt seating needs to be redone. What a find! Fresh from an 1830's Post& Beam house recently purchased~ was sitting in the attic eaves. Measures 34 1/2" to top of back 17 1/2" to top of seat. Seat is 15" wide x 16 1/2" deep Triple row back with hand carved designs Inside of the seat it is stamped into the wood MAZOWIA Made in Poland. On the other side there are remnants of a paper label as well Bolted metal leg brackets in fine condition No splits to wood anywhere I can see Bottom of one leg has an old chip at the base of the leg. Same color as leg as this chip happened many years ago- At first glance I missed it. Needs a tightening- one back slat has come unglued from age and the glue drying out- One leg needs to be reglued and screwed. Original antique Bentwood No. 14 (now 214) Thonet style cafe bistro chair
Original antique bentwood Thonet No. 14-style bistro cafe chair. This design type is now known as a'214' The'chair of chairs' a design classic traditionally used in bistros and now fashionable as good kitchen chairs. Has an original patterned pressed seat and double hooped back rails. My research indicates that this chair was probably made in the 1950s. It is marked on the underside of the seat with the product number 14 but no other manufacturers markings have survived. The existence of the additional diagonal braces between the seat and back might mean that it is actually Thonet. Nevertheless. It is a beautiful antique chair and is fully useable even though one wooden plug is missing from the back. Collection from SE19. Crystal Palace or postage by courier.

The pad shown we made years ago. To compliment the chair, all else is. as it was when I got it I would like to learn about the chair the person whom I got it from said it was a very desirable style and I must agree it has something about it that makes it like a piece of art rather than a piece of furniture. there are some reeds that are coming unwound and some wire on one of the arms that I tried to show a couple nails have pushed out some but are still there otherwise the chair appears very solid and feels tight when I move it around to take pics I wouldn't sit in due to its make up but it held the kitten with no problem.

This is an original. All wood, beautiful bentwood rocker chair in excellent condition. It has a hand caned seat and back which is probably a replacement job, judging by its perfect condition. This is not a large chair but would be suitable for smaller, lighter persons or youths. Here are exact measurements: Chair is 17 1/4 inches wide at front of rockers, Height of seat is 13 1/2 inches off floor, longest measurement from front of chair to ends of rocker tips is 32 inches, Floor to crest of curve on seat back is 30 3/4 inches, Back is approximately 16 x 16 inches diameter and Seat is approximately 16 1/2 x 17 diameter. The back uprights are the widest round stock and are 1 1/2 inches, rockers are 1 1/4 inch diameter, other elements are 3/4 inch to 1 inch in diameter, and smallest diameter of any elements is 7/8 inches.

Original Vienna- Austria sticker and J& J Kohn name and country Austria printed under seat( Kohn name and country in black- hard to photograph) Finish appears to be original.
