Made of walnut and burled walnut veneer, the desk has 3 drawers in the lower section, the middle section is a drop front desk with pigeon holes and leather work space, the upper section has leaded glass doors and adjustable shelves. Measures 71- 1/4" tall(almost 6 feet) x 29- 1/2" wide; the lower section is 16" deep, the upper is 7- 3/4" deep. Condition is excellent as shown in the photos. 54337 ANTIQUE 1900 MAHOGANY 48" BOOKCASE W 2 LEADED GLASS TULIPS DOORS
An antique. Circa 1900, mahogany stained maple double door bookcase. The doors have upper leaded glass design of tulip and leaf, the tulips with beveled glass. There are two interior sections each with three adjustable removable shelves. The case has front corner columns with carved capitols, and paw front feet on casters. Cabinet measures 5' 60" tall by 4' 48" wide by 14" deep, the shelves 10" deep. Very good condition: original finish- some minor stain or ring spot on the top, maple without chips or cracks. Crack to a leaded glass petal and crack to tip of a tulip petal. All leading original and secure. The glass door panels are fine and original. The doors have had their locks removed, each door now with glass handles that replace the original metal handles.

Here is a really fantastic deal on a terrific antique quartersawn oak bureau bookcase with drop front desk or secretary as they are commonly referred to here in the US. This lovely desk with bookcase above and drawers below was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh. Scotland and is constructed of beautiful quartersawn oak, really nice metal pulls and leaded glass doors protecting the bookcase. This delightful piece stands 72 inches tall and measures 31 inches wide by 18 inches deep. Front to back. It travels safely in two pieces, the top 27 3/4 inches wide by 7 3/4 inches deep front to back and 32 1/2 inches tall. The dimensions within the top cabinet are 31 inches tall by 27 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches front to back and has two adjustable shelves as well as the base of the cabinet to serve as three shelves within the cabinet. The ... morebureau base with desk stands 39 1/2 inches tall and is 31 inches wide by 18 inches front to back, and 28 inches deep when the drop front desk is open. The work surface of the desk measures 27 inches wide by 18 inches front to back, with an embossed leather pad writing surface of 24 inches long by 9 wide and is 31 1/4 inches above the floor. There are a number of cubbies along the back of the inside of the desk as well as a small drawer for storing supplies and personal items. There are two large bureau drawers below the drop front desk. Each 23 and 1/2 inches wide and 12 1/2 inches front to back and are both 5 inches deep. Overall this magnificent desk offers everything you need to keep your books.
