These can sometimes be ground a bit to fit a particular eye. This piece was originally painted black. I've posted lots of pictures so you can look it over. This stove has a side loader, two hidden cook tops, chrome foot rest, cherub front door design and challis. Challis is complete and undamaged other than being a little aged like the rest of the stove. All of the moving parts work as they should. When the front door is open there is a great, ornate front gate. There are no known broken parts. It was viewed recently by a professional stove installer and he found the stove to be sturdy, solid, not warped and undamaged. It is in great shape for its age. Vintage Vulcan-Hart US ARMY RANGE wood/gas/coal 8 burner plate cook stove oven
This is the Vulcan-Hart version of the US Army commercial wood/coal kitchen stove originally built by the Garland stove company for the US Government contract. But has many upgrades. This stove has a large commercial size natural gas burner in the firebox, which likely could be rejetted for propane allowing you to use multiple fuel sources(Wood, coal, gas) It also has a built in cast iron water heater heat exchanger in there. It has a brite"US" nameplate which appears to be solid brass and silver accenting on the casting names and rivet heads. The top is 52W X 36D X 33H. It's real cast iron- it weighs in the neighborhood of 400 lbs. The Vulcan-Hart company. With history back to 1865, still makes high quality $$$ commercial stoves today and the quality and lineage of this unit shows. Built in 1951 according to the nameplate on ... morethe side. It came with a 1947 house I purchased last year. According to the 87 year old previous owner, the unit was bought new and placed in the corner of the living room by his aunt during a 1952 renovation and hasn't moved since. He only used it for extra heating in that large room and never recalled actually burning wood in the unit, and I found only evidence of natural gas use. It comes with the stock"tools" poker, scraper etc. The unused heavy-ass firebox grating for burning solids is in the last photo. It was sitting in the bottom of the ash drawer. It is a bit dusty in the photos and it does have a light patina of rust color on the inside but I know most of that is due to the natural gas combustion residue. And there is no ash inside and very little soot in the flue. I decided to leave it all original and not try to restore it as that might change its value and it does in fact need very little cleaning and perhaps some paint inside to make it look like new again. Beautifully restored circa 1923 Bridge Beach. Superior Eureka gas, coal and wood stove. I replated all of the nickel and the original blue and white finish is in beautiful condition, with a few blemishes. I only cooked on the wood side once, but I've used the gas side for the last few years and it works great. The thermostat in gas oven is actually quite accurate. The wood and coal part consists of four burners and the lower oven. Then there are the frour natural gas cooking burners and the one simmer burner on the right side. Up above on the left is the gas oven which is controlled by a very accurate thermostat. On ther right is the gas broiler. It is the most furocious broiler I've ever seen. Take a look at the picture. A group of three antique cast iron stove parts. I am unsure of the exact function of each. They could be lid lifters. Grate shakers, or something else, but they are all stove related. The first piece measures about 8-1/4" long and is marked"140" on the top of the handle. There are some casting marks on the underside of the handle as well. But they are difficult to read. The second piece m easures about 8" long. Has a casting mark on the underside of"B63" and is nickel plated. The third piece m easures about 11-1/2" long and has no casting marks or other identifiers. And is also nickel plated. The parts are used. But in good condition. The plated items do show some plating wear and minor rusting. The pictures show the condition of the items. LOOK N/R ANTIQUE HOME COMFORT WOOD COOK STOVE CIRCA 1930'S DRY STORED A-1 COND!
Item up for auction is a Home Comfort enamel coated wood cookstove that was purchased new by my grandparents some time in the 1930's and was used daily until the house was redone with electric appliances sometime in the late forties or fifties. At which time it was placed in dry storage with the metal surfaces coated in paraffin wax to preserve the finish and protect from corrosion. Everything is in place with the stove and works as it should. The pictures speak for themselves! You will be hard pressed to find a better. Offering this great old Cast Iron Germer Wood or Coal Stove. It was made in Erie Pa in the late 1800's. It has been cleaned and repainted. The top decorative ornament can be removed easily for cooking on top. The base legs measure Approx 24" X 24" The top cooking surface is Approx 46" from the floor. I can deliver this stove locally to Glen Burnie MD 21060 or farther for a modest fee. Please ask any questions before you bid. Pay a $300. Deposit within 48 hours of end of auction.
