Vintage/Antique Chautauqua No. 54 Kerosene Heater/Stove With Brass Burner. I have read that these were used as gifts/premiums by some companies. Most notably Larkin Soap. I do not know if these were ever sold as retail or if they were only sold to businesses. This is very similar to the Perfection line of kerosene stoves. The viewing window is made of a plastic type of material and is dented in a bit. The feet are worn/corroded around the edges but still have enough material to support the stove. Antique Double Burner Cast Iron & Metal Portable Stove/Heater Railroad Hunting
Rare find from an Eastern Shore of Maryland Estate with this early 1900/late 1800 cast iron and metal double burner heater and stove. While these pieces were mostly seen traveling the early rails in caboose cars for the train workers to keep warm and fix meals they found a ready home with the early hunt camps and duck blinds. Easy to move and run on kerosene they were especially welcome in the early morning hours in the duck and goose blinds for warmth and keeping the coffee pot going. This aged survivor is believed to have been part of the early duck hunting camps that were and still are popular today in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This one is cast with“Gardner Mass. The factory made a number for sale under a few different names and while this one might have sported a label it’s long gone to time. It does still have what appears to be ... morethe original wick and while it appears to be missing the cap. Cork plugs where the factory installed caps. This piece still sports the original mica windows for burners but as the pictures show the mica has scratches and cracks. The cast iron base is intact with no cracks or chips and the metal top in solid without the heavy signs of wear and rust common to the remains that show up. All parts still function with the wick and the knobs turn easy moving the wick up or down. There is one repair where the window to one burner is installed with a modern screw and nut as you see in the pictures. Since the heating element works above and below, you could make toast and eggs or bacon at same time. Modern convenience 100 years ago, it is aluminum with wood handles. Pans store in the unit. Comes with two 7“ square pots, a griddle, and a pan that doubles as a lid. Comes with original plug. Pic shows it works fine. There was an egg poacher that went with it, it is not present. It has a goodly amount of surface rust but I have found no holes. And two small dents at the top right. The glass windows are dirty but unbroken. Antique Metal PERFECTION? Heater Stove Small Round Portable
I don't know if this was meant to be a heater or stove. It's small and round. Has a detachable handle, a grate that fits on top with a lever that can gradually open and close the holes along with a metal rod so you can remove it without burning your hand. It can certainly count as an antique primitive. It's about 11" tall and 12" square. There is a metal knob that sticks out the side that raises and lowers the metal heating element. There is another lever on the side that moves so you can flip the lid open-which I just discovered! So there aren't any photos of this. But when you open it. You can lift out the tank that's inside with the heating element on top. And the stopper pops out, and there's a cloth wick inside! I can't find a brand name or any marking on it. It seems to match the"Perfection" ... morebrand in its style, although there aren't any this size on there. There is some rust, and it's somewhat dirty. We ship within 1 business day of payment. Antique Portable Heater Classic Kerosene Stove With Opaque Glass Center 25"X 9"
You are bidding on a very old kerosene heater. It measures approximately 25 inches tall. 9 inches wide and 13 inches on the bottom. The glass center takes up about 8 inches in the middle of the heater. It had been painted a white enamel and they did such a good job I have no idea what the original color might have been. I do not know if it's in working order as it was used solely for decoration and was not needed as a heater. However the inside"pot" is still there. There is no kerosene or oil in it at all nor has there been for as long as it's been here in this house.since the 1970's.It is a very study little heater, very pretty with the glass center. Both face glasses are intact and the stove is complete(see pictures for consideration on condition) Note the patent date is May 16. 1893 and its dimensions are 8 ¾” by 5 3/8” by 5 ½” These stoves were used to heat the old SADD irons before electricity.
