Vintage Home Comfort Wood/Coal Cookstove
This stove has been lovingly kept. The enamel is in great shape. The firebox is in perfect condition- no missing or broken tiles and the grate is wonderful. The cast iron top is rough and pitted(not lovely, but very functional and has all the pieces) It is a great appliance, conversation piece, heat source and it cooks and bakes like a champ! It has a large hot water reservoir that is in great shape, no leaks or functional defects. I have owned this particular stove for about seven years and have used it every fall/winter. I am a connoisseur of vintage cook stoves, and this one is remarkable!

This cast"shelf" was mounted on the side of a wood burning cookstove as an extension to the cooktop or as a warming rack. There are protrusions in the cast which would be inserted into slots on the side of the cooktop as a means of mounting the rack. This piece was not plated but left in raw metal. Momarch Wood/Coal cookstove
This was a wedding present to us 40 years ago. It is in perfect working order. The only issues are age related. One of the firebox vertical baffles is coal scalded but works fine. These are individually replaceable) but also could be furnace cemented to protect surrounding surfaces. The water reservoir is showing rust on the lid but I believe the reservoir itself is copper. It holds water. This is the model that is plumbed with water jackets in the firebox to heat water. Generally. A small diameter by five foot galvanized tank would be mounted on the chimney behind or to the side of the stove. As the stove heated the water it would thermosiphon into the tank which was mounted high enough to ensure gravity flow to the kitchen sink. Stove has always been protected and shows no rust except where noted. The last two pictures show what it looks ... morelike with a coat of stove black applied. Usually, this is done yearly for cosmetic looks. As with most stoves of this vintage there is some crazing on some of the burner plates. Ash box is excellent and both the grate and burner handles are original as is the poker. What is missing is the stand which is an easy fabrication using 3 or 4" T-metal. You should allow 16 square feet of footprint minimally. Stove weighs in around 250-300 lbs. Since the oven is surrounded by airspace, it is essentially a convection oven. When you learn how to bake in this stove you will make the best pies you've ever tasted. I list this for local p.u. but could deliver within a 200 mile radius of McCall, ID. for a to be determined cost.

Up for sale is an old wood(and coal? Windsor cookstove in useable condition-needs cleaning and an ashbox. This was a Montgomery Ward product.back in the day. Structurally sound. It has a professionally repaired back leg and after cleaning should be useable. With the warming ovens on top, it stands at 66" tall, approximately 40" wide, 27" deep. It is, of course, heavy metal.and is very heavy. It needs a thorough cleaning~has been in storage in out buildings for the thirty years that I've owned it. With some rechroming(or nickeling) and tlc it could be a welcome addition to your kitchen! It is intact and comes with all the lifters that you see. This is a REALLY hard catalog to find. These hard bound store catalogs like this just don't come up very often. The guy I'm selling it for really isn't sure he wants to part with it. Superb condition"Glenwood N" wood cookstove. With copper water tank/reservoir. This stove was completely rebuilt- new parts as needed. Complete re-nickeling, new ash pan, new copper liner for water tank, sandblasting and repainting, etc- by"The Love Barn" in Orland, ME. Mark does meticulous, high-quality work, and the photos show this. The water reservoir is a rare feature on these. We purchased the stove in 2006 as an emergency heating& cooking source for Maine winters. We have used it sparingly. As the Jotul in the main room heats the house and"emergencies" haven't happened. There are no cracks, there's no warping or other damage; this stove is as beautiful and flawless in-person, as it appears in these photos.
