It's the same brown throughout, no dark edges that was common back then. The door has a few very small scratches but very hard to see. The shine on it is like new! I had to use the flash on my camera to keep the reflection of items around the room out of the pic- that white spot is the flash. The back is attached and shone in a pic, there is a small spot where the enamel is missing toward the bottom. Could use a good cleaning, the latch is a little loose but can probably be fixed once the back panel is taken off. I have many parts and will try to list them all soon. If you need something. Please send a question and I'll check my stash for you. I do have the pantry floor that is in the matching grey and a brushed chrome top along with the backsplash with the atomic age electric clock still attached. Also the griddle in great shape and inner parts and other stuff I can't remember. This item is very heavy- if it costs more than $20. This stove was purchased by a lady new on the outskirts of Shelbyville, Ky. and remained in her home until it was ... moresold in an Estate after she had passed away. The gentleman that I purchased this from is the one who had purchased it at the Estate auction around 1996. With the intent on installing it in his older Shelbyville home's kitchen which was undergoing a restoration. Anyway, he decided to go a different direction on the appliances, and that is when I came to own this remarkable stove. It was late 1996 when I purchased it. And the gentleman to me a story that I must pass on to you. The lady who originally bought this stove had used it daily since new, but being in her late 80's and a widow was pressured by her family to get a"new fangled" stove with autopilot features as they were concerned for her safety with a standing pilot light, and they were even going to pay for it. She refused over and over again until finally one day she said she would accept a"new" stove as long as they had"her" trusty companion"stove" installed down in the basement so that she could cook her Holiday dinner on her own stove. And so it would be! But when the kids were cleaning up the her old house for the estate sale. They noticed how clean the"new" stove was, and came to the conclusion that she had in fact not been using it at all, but going up and down the basement stairs everyday until her death. HMMMMMph? Anyway. When I purchased this in 1996, I took to the local appliance store for a"once over" cleaning, inspection, tune-up as well as having the oven controller removed and sent out to the Tulsa Stove Hospital to have it re-calibrated. I also had the top burners and grate re-porcelained by a company in Tennessee. I was having a"new" Victorian Country built, and this was installed upon moving in. My wife and I have enjoyed this stove up until May 2010, when we updated the kitchen with new SS appliances and a commerc

Vintage Vulcan-Hart US ARMY RANGE wood/gas/coal 8 burner plate cook stove oven
This is the Vulcan-Hart version of the US Army commercial wood/coal kitchen stove originally built by the Garland stove company for the US Government contract. But has many upgrades. This stove has a large commercial size natural gas burner in the firebox, which likely could be rejetted for propane allowing you to use multiple fuel sources(Wood, coal, gas) It also has a built in cast iron water heater heat exchanger in there. It has a brite"US" nameplate which appears to be solid brass and silver accenting on the casting names and rivet heads. The top is 52W X 36D X 33H. It's real cast iron- it weighs in the neighborhood of 400 lbs. The Vulcan-Hart company. With history back to 1865, still makes high quality $$$ commercial stoves today and the quality and lineage of this unit shows. Built in 1951 according to the nameplate on ... morethe side. It came with a 1947 house I purchased last year. According to the 87 year old previous owner, the unit was bought new and placed in the corner of the living room by his aunt during a 1952 renovation and hasn't moved since. He only used it for extra heating in that large room and never recalled actually burning wood in the unit, and I found only evidence of natural gas use. It comes with the stock"tools" poker, scraper etc. The unused heavy-ass firebox grating for burning solids is in the last photo. It was sitting in the bottom of the ash drawer. It is a bit dusty in the photos and it does have a light patina of rust color on the inside but I know most of that is due to the natural gas combustion residue. And there is no ash inside and very little soot in the flue. I decided to leave it all original and not try to restore it as that might change its value and it does in fact need very little cleaning and perhaps some paint inside to make it look like new again. I found no cracks, scratches, or damage of any kind when I inspected it, and I do feel confident in its excellent condition, but I am selling it as-is, no warranties. It will come with the carbura

Great lot here. I have no idea how old they are or what they fit. Maybe a how comfort but in no way do I guarantee that.SOme of them have several chips around the rim. They have a lot of tarnishing surface rust and some pitting. the spacer that goes in between two eyes is a little bowed and has a crack. They need a good cleaning. The larger eyes measure approx 7 15/16 and the one with holes and writing measures 6 3/4. Even with the condition these are hard to find and im starting them at a very reasonable price. VINTAGE CAST IRON 9" COOK STOVE EYE / LID LIFTER ~ ANTIQUE WOOD COAL WRENCH TOOL
Offered is a cast iron stove eye lifter. These were used to lift the eyes. Or lids, on old cook and heating stoves, as well as agitate the ash grates. The embossing on the handle is too weak for me to read so I am unable to connect it with a particular maker or era. It's obviously an older piece. The lifter is about 8-3/4 inches long and weighs about 7 ounces. I can't find the slightest damage beyond light use marks and some surface roughness. Likely from the original casting. The end of lifting lug is about 7/8 by 3/8 by 1/8 inches, and tapers. These can sometimes be ground a bit to fit a particular eye. The square end is about 1/2 by 5/8 inches. These were sometimes used to adjust internal oven vents in cookstoves as well. I've posted lots of pictures so you can look it over. Antique Vintage Independent Stove Renown Green & Cream Wood Gas-Fired Cook Stove
This stove was manufactured by the Independent Stove Company in Owosso. MI most likely in the mid to late 1930's. This combination wood gas stove also most likely used coal and oil as well. The porcelain enamel jadeite green and cream finish is in excellent condition for being almost 80 years old with very few chips/scratches on the upper shelf(which is detachable) and a more noticeable large chip on the removable burner cover(pictured) The on/off/kindler knob appears to be missing but is still functional. Cooktop: cover has large chip. Burners all appear to be in working order and free of rust but have not been tested. The drip pan beneath the burners appears to be a little rusty. This model could have used oil or gas for fuel. Oven: features an external American Thermostat Company thermostat that reads from 200 to 650 degrees. There ... moreare 2 original oven shelves included. There is some rust on the bottom. Which is to be expected with any surface that comes into contact with fire, as well as the shelf slides. The handle is missing for the oven coal grate in the bottom of the oven. Wood burner: Handles are missing for both wood loading grates. The fire box appears to be rusty as well as the ash box below. Which is to be expected on surfaces that come in contact with fire. Wood burner controls seem to be in working order but have not tested. Stovepipe manifold: is rusty and part of the stovepipe manifold appears to have broken into two pieces. There is one screw that would hold it together on one side if it weren't so rusty. There are two additional metal pieces that appear to be for the manifold but there may be pieces missing. There are rust spots on the back of the stove. The gas/oil supply line has been cut but the fittings are still in place(see pic) Company History: The Independent Stove Company began in Detroit in 1905 and moved to Owosso in 1908.
