Antique Vintage Black Cast Iron ad iron Tailor's Flat Iron Circa 1910 If you hate to iron. Imagine how your ancestors from the early 1900's must have felt. This is one heavy iron! Women(and male tailors) used sad irons to press their families' or customer's' clothes. Sad irons got their name because sad means"heavy" They are very appropriately named. Although these irons were small, they were quite heavy. Sad irons were heated near an open fire or on the stove and their handles became red hot. Women tried wrapping aprons or towels around the handles, but still burned their fingers. The thought of ironing under these conditions is enough to make anyone"sad" This iron is a#6 iron. The face plate was left intact and shows natural patina. However. The top of the iron was repainted and used as a doorstop, ... morethen later a paperweight. It looks like the paint can be removed if the winning bidder wished to attempt to restore it to its natural condition. However, painted it does not look bad, in our opinion. It would make a lovely addition to your antique and vintage primitive collection. Would look great as laundry room decor, or would make quite the conversation piece if used as a doorstop or as a display piece. Condition: Good Used Condition. As described above. This auction is for a Vintage Cast Iron Art Deco Wood Burning Stove Finial. This unique vintage stove finial measures 8 ¾ inches high. 10 inches in diameter at the center, 3 ¾ inches at diameter base, round top measures 2 ¾ inches, and 6 inches between top of two handles. Unmarked. Fine condition. No cracks or chips. Minor wear on nickel plating. Age unknown. Note the ornate screws which holds the finial together. The handles attach separately through four slots. Finial can be opened to find a bolt inside which I think would attach finial to a swing top, etc. Heavy- weighs about 2 ½ pounds. Great lot here. I have no idea how old they are or what they fit. Maybe a how comfort but in no way do I guarantee that.SOme of them have several chips around the rim. They have a lot of tarnishing surface rust and some pitting. the spacer that goes in between two eyes is a little bowed and has a crack. They need a good cleaning. The larger eyes measure approx 7 15/16 and the one with holes and writing measures 6 3/4. Even with the condition these are hard to find and im starting them at a very reasonable price. Antique or vintage cast iron with enamel front plate Radio stove door Harwick ??
Up for bid is an antique or vintage cast iron with a white enamel plated front plate stove door. It is marked Radio. In my research. The only Radio stove I could find was made bt Harwick. It looks like the door was chrome plated. Most of the chrome plating is gone, just a little left on some of the edges. The latch is broke/missing. There are spots, stains and a chip in the enamel finish on the front plate. I pack my postcards between 2 pieces of cardboard. Then in an envelope with a tracking number, which results in a higher price than just sticking it in an envelope. This item/items as most of the things I sell. Came from an auction, flea market, estate sale or rummage sale. I am not a professional, so all I can do is give what I feel is a good picture and description of the item(s) From there, the item/items are sold as is. Vintage Griswold Cast Iron # 402 Double Burner Gas Stove with Porcelain Knobs
Up for bids is a vintage cast iron double burner gas stove with porcelain knobs that was made by Gridwold and is marked as pictured. The stove measures 17 1/2" long by 9 1/2" wide across the top and stands 5 1/2" high. It is in very nice condition with no missing parts. These were made to operate on natural gas but can be converted over very easily to run on propane gas. You will need to find a propane gas regulator and hose that will hook up to a propane bottle and attach them to the gas line on the stove. These can be taken off of an old propane fired grill or they can be purchased new at most hardware stores. Being sold as pictured and described so please ask any questions you may have and look carefully at all the pictures before you place a bid.

The weld is old but is very solid and blends right in with the rest of the stove. The right wooden knob is a bit tight when turning but the left knob turns easily. Vintage Griswold Cast Iron # 320 Double Burner Gas Stove with Porcelain Knobs
Up for bids is a vintage Griswold 320 cast iron double burner gas stove with porcelain knobs and stand. The stove measures 19 1/2" long by 9 1/2" wide across the top and stands 20 high. No breaks. No cracks. It is in very nice condition with no missing parts. The legs are original and the shelf is new. Original shelf was in poor condition so I had a sheet metal company make a new one) I cleaned and wire brushed and painted the cast iron. The stove was painted with 2000 degree paint and baked as per instruction of the use of the paint. All screws were replaced with original looking ones. I have not tested this stove. It should work. May need some adjustment to the air/gas valves. The porcelain knobs are original and turn on and off as they should. As seen in the W. Bingham Co. catalog dated 1939-1940 and sold then for $3.35. Bach ... morethen it was called a Gas Hot Plate These were made to operate on natural gas but can be converted over very easily to run on propane gas. You will need to find a propane gas regulator and hose that will hook up to a propane bottle and attach them to the gas line on the stove. Being sold as pictured and described so please ask any questions and look at all the pictures before you place a bid. To make shipping easier. I may take the legs off. It is easy to replace them.
