Up for bid is one(1) vintage Stover 66 cast iron stove lid lifter in excellent. Gently-used condition. It measures approximately 8-3/4" long. This interesting kitchen collectible was used for lifting the lids from a coal/wood stove. It has a spiral wire handle that forms a hook at the end for hanging. See pictures. NOTE: The stove lid lifter is usually an iron device. Often nickel- plated. With a flattened hook at one end for lifting the iron stove lids/plates from the stove or range top. Provisions were made for cooling the handle. Often spirally-twisted heavy wire, to dissipate the heat from the hand. As I purchased this item at an estate sale. This set includes 10- 4” 1- 5” and 1- 6” flues. As you can see in the photos, all of the flues have their handle with spring still attached. There are some stamped“Pats Pending” with“Patents” above with a hand stamped patent number below. There are others that have the patent date of July 20. 1915 and a patent number of 1,697,100. The 6” flue has 4 patent numbers hand stamped near the top and“Pats Pending” on the lower side. The included lifter is marked“Stover 66” This piece measures about 8 1/2” long.
