It also means the chrome is new and has never been used. If a part is used in any way we will not categorize it as NEWLY CHROMED. All New Chromed parts are original vintage parts. This is the base trim that sits at the top of the white porcelaim enamel back splash panel on the 39" vintage O'Keefe& Merritt gas stove. It extends the entire width of the stove. The clock/timer sits in the center. The chrome vents sit on the L&R sides. The chrome on all of the exposed areas is show quality. The few"freckles" you see where the clock sits are limited to the area that the clock/timer sits and are not seen when the clock and this trim is installed. There are no bends, dents, scratches- the metal integrity is excellent. The center 5.0"x1/2" piece of glass is not included, nor is any mounting hardware. The porcelain enamel is in excellent condition, no chips, scratches or stains- the finish retains a gorgeous white shine. The chrome light shade has NEW CHROME. The clock/timer face plates are in very good condition. No peeling, wear or scratches. Both glass clock/timer crowns are in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks in the glass. The white plastic knobs are all present, they all work as intended. The clock ring have normal wear. Please note, do not purchase if you are expecting fully functioning working clocks and timers. VTG TAPPAN DELUXE STOVE (DOUGHBOY) TOP DASHBOARD UNIT CLOCK POTRCELAIN ENAMEL
Up for Auction is a Very Rare Vintage Tappan Deluxe Stove Top with Clock and Temperature Cooking Times. This is 40" long and is 5"tall. The Porcelain is in Excellent Condition the Clock and light does not work. This will need re-wired. This came from my Stove I never used the Clock I just liked the Look of the Stove so I never had it repaired. The Porcelain Enamel is Great with no chips, on the inside of the clock it looks like the white backing is flaking off, but the numbers are still legible. I did not attempt to take the chrome plate off for cleaning will let new owners handle that. I have many more parts on line from my stove and will be adding more as the days go by. This fits the vintage O'Keefe& Merritt model measuring approximately 35" across the front from side to side. THE LIGHTS& PLUG WORK: All of the white& brown"mesh" design is beautiful shiny porcelain enamel. There are no scratches. Dents, stains on the exposed white/mesh porcelain enamel. The black porcelain enamel horizontal ... morelight guard has a few very subtle heat stains- you have to look close to notice them. We plugged the unit in with the included original cord and the 2 lights(GE tube style) worked great with the on/off front switch. Also the front plug works. We do not know if the clock works, however both knobs are in great shape and turn the components as intended. Please purchase with the assumption that the clock will need some further'tinkering' The clock face is not faded, the hands are in great shape, the glass has no cracks or chips. There is a bit of wear on the clock chrome frame. We have disassembled the entire assembly and thoroughly cleaned each part. Then polished and reassembled this unit. Even if you don't have the rest of the stove. This would make a GREAT PIECE OF VINTAGE ART. This is an original vintage'Gold Series' Wedgewood clock/timer assembly. A very rare find. The base plate is in good used condition with the original golden toned aluminum. As are the 2 electric plug trim and thin clock rings. The base plate and both clock/timer rings have new lettering as do the white knobs. The porcelain finish is gorgeous and retains a brilliant shine- no chips, scratches, or stains. The clock timer faces are very nice bright condition. All the white plastic knobs are intact and in good condition and turn as intended. Both clock and timer glass crowns are beautiful, also polished clear, no scratches, cracks or chips. We have disassembled all of the components from the assembly housing and thoroughly clean all parts(not the motors or gear parts) It is spotless. The chrome finish on this clock timer assembly and the S&P brackets is in good used condition, t here is slight wear on the top L&R sides of the chrome mounting plate where the porcelain salt& pepper shakers would sit and a few small flea bites on the front top'round over' the lettering is new. The white bakelite housing is bright white and shiny- the bottom sides of these bakelite plastic housings are most always crack and broken at the 2 attaching screw holes to the chrome base. We alway repair these as we did with this unit. We epoxy weld the piece with new bolts, nuts and washers. We epoxy the washers to the inner side to help reinforce the case. Telechron Clock& Culinary Chart Ready for restoration or as is. This O'Keefe& Merritt Stove Top Lamp and Clock Tower is outstanding. Originally the base tray would have also held salt and pepper containers to fit on each side. What remains is the Telecron Clock and a culinary chart with baking times and temperatures. Plus the lamp and an outlet for electrcal appliances. The tower housing is made of steel whose original white enameled& chrome finish is covered with a super attractive rusty crusty patina. Manufactured by The O'Keefe& Merritt Stove Co of Los Angeles. California, it is identified as such by the small company logo found on the printed culinary ... morechart. T he tower has dimensions of about 14" base width x 10-1/2" height x 6" depth. Other base measurements are 2-3/8" depth x 3/4" height and the weight of the whole unit is 7 pounds 2 ounces. The electric clock is not working. But the lamp still does. Its corroded enamel and chrome finish gives it an attractive industrial look with a kind of art deco influence. I do not know if the cord and plug are original. But they are in reasonably good shape. Also looking good are t he clock face and culinary chart with their convex crystals. Please check the photos closely and ask if you need more. This amazing stove top clock& lamp tower is a great piece to display or use as it was intended. A tenant left this in storage when he left. The porcelain is in great shape-shiny. The metal light hood obviously needs to be re-chromed. As does the back plate. I am including both in this auction. I cleaned it, but it could use some detailed work in that respect. The Salt and Pepper shakers are original! Clean and new stoppers inserted. The plastic over the clock is cracked. I have no idea if either clock or timer work. Please look at all pictures. This item is a hard to find bargain as a restoration project.
