ANTIQUE-VINTAGE SALESMAN SAMPLE/TOY STOVE
This stove belonged to an aunt of mine who died some 20yrs ago in her 80's. I do not know if this was a toy of hers or a salesman sample. It is a Crescent stove. Has 15 pieces to it. I will admit it is dusty but am leaving the cleaning to its new owner. The stove is 6" x 4"x 4.75" to that one must had the shelves and the stovepipe. There are a coal shuttle, and shovel, a cauldron, a frying pan,a large pot. Each burner has a disc, and the stovepipe and grill work are seperate. It is very decorative and has lots of detail. It has a lid lifter with it. The front of the stove has a large door that opens and has the word FAVORITE on it. There is a large oven rack inside this door. There are two small working doors on the front and there is a small grate that fits in the fire box. It could probably fired up. All six burners, and water reservoir has lid also. There is a decorative shelf above the stovetop. The measurements are as follows, 17 ½” across, 27 ½” high(including chimney) and 10 ½” deep. This is an antique salesman's sample or child's toy stove and NOT a reproduction version from the 1960s-70s. A quick way to tell them apart is that the repro of this stove has a cast aluminum cooking surface. Legs and frame, while the antique's cooking surface is cast iron. With plated cast iron legs and frame. We know this because both the antique and the later reproduction were at the same estate auction. We guarantee this is the antique and it's in very clean. Highly displayable condition. This stove represented an actual full-sized stove then being made by Qualifed Range Co. of Ft. Re cov ery. Ohio. Samples that were made for Karr Range are so similar( the only ... moredifference we note is the different name on the fire box cover. Usually Karr Range Co. Belleville, I ll. th at it seems very likely there was a connect ion b etween the two companies. Especially since some have turned up marked"Qualified Rge. Co. Belleville, IL" and others"Karr Qualified Range" Please note that the blue surfaces are a medium-glossy finish that made it difficult to photo without reflections. We were able to eliminate most of the reflections by photoing from different angles. Also. Please note that all the blue is uniform and all the same shade(no lighter or darker areas) The flat side panels in photo 4 are very close to the true color. The stove. Which measures 20-7/8" x 12-1/2" x 8-3/4" functions just like the full-sized model. Dollys Favorite Stovepipe Here is a Stovepipe.that has come from a Dollys Favorite.small.child's sized stove. I believe that both of these came together.if I remember correctly. This stove has the split stovepipe.configuration. The short.bottom portion.looks a little more solid.and looks like it may have been re-done at one time or another. The red.upper.looks more original. It has rust.but I think it is still a very good piece. The two fit together very well at about 19 1/2 inches tall. The bottom is about 8 inches tall.while the top is about 12 inches in length. Up for auction is a antique Sears Salesman sample cast iron pot belly wood cook stove toy. The front of the stove is marked Sears and the door opens up and inside is a metal mesh inside with showing pipe in middle. The door hooks closed but you have to lift it up to securely closed. The legs are all intact and two of them are loose and the other two are secure. There is no top lid that you would use to cook on top. SPARK Vintage Salesman Sample Cast Iron Pot Belly Stove Tools Chimney Grey Co.
So happy to be able to offer this Vintage. SPARK Salesman Sample cast iron potbelly stove. I have owned this stove for many years but never cleaned it up, displayed or used it. The man I bought it from had a Thrift/Swap Shop and the girl he bought it from had been using it to cook or warm food on. Actually, it had ashes in it when I bought it. There are still signs of ashes in it. Stamped Grey Iron Casting Co. Mt. Joy. Pa. on the underside of the burner lid. Had to clean the soot off to be able to make it out the mark. Size: Stove is 13½" tall to the flat part. 24" with the 12" chimney part. Chimney part is cut at the top for inserting into the next section of chimney. Chimney is tin. About 9¼" around the belly. Foot to foot across the front is 8¼" and front to back is 9" Weight: 14# Nice designs ... moreon the legs and flat parts. Condition: Original black paint in time-worn condition. The paint on the belly part evidently has burned off and there is minor rust on the metal in this area. Minor rust in other areas. Do not believe there is any damaging rust but the lid on the burner has rust that may have pitted the surface. The dampers work properly. But the small damper door on the belly part is a little hard to open, may just need some oil. I show a section on the back where there are small indention/ holes in the casting process, either air bubble or defect in the casting mold. Very sound condition. No breaks. I offer flat rate shipping which. I am sure is well under what it will cost to ship. If shipping figures $2.00 less than the flat rate, I will refund the difference to your Pay Pal account. Cast Iron Stove This is a small stove that was sold to me as a salesman's sample because of its small size. It measures approximately 16" without handle and 8" across. The top of the stove is marked with"NM&TCo" with"Buffalo.NY. underneath, see pictures. The stove is structurally solid. I see little to no rust on the outside but there is rust on the inside. Antique SPARK Cast Iron Salesman Sample Wood Burning Pot Belly Stove- This is a nice little stove that could almost be considered a toy. Except for the fact that it actually works. This particular stove has been used.the remnants of soot. Etc. still show in the photos. These little stoves were made by Grey Casting Company in Mount Joy. PA as replicas that salesmen would take to potential customers. They were produced with all working parts. The shaker grate empties into the cleanout. The drafts can be adjusted and all the doors open. The top plate can be taken off and you can actually connect it to a stove pipe. It stands 13 1/2" tall x 8" wide from foot to foot and 9" deep from foot to foot. CONDITION: This stove does show signs of being used and also has some surface rust. One of its legs has a broken piece up under the body ... moreat a point that would hold it in place by the nut. It still stands. But that point could be repaired. It stands fine as it is, though. And there is no tag, but there is little doubt that it is an original Patent Model that would date from the late 19th century. It is about 7" tall overall and the oval top is approx 2 3/4 x 2" It is a great idea, and I wish I had something like it on my wood stove pipe. Both the top and bottom are removable to facilitate cleaning and ... moreinspection. In operation when the damper rod is pulled out there 3 large main chimneys- 1 right up the middle and 1 at each end to allow for plenty of draft when starting the fire in the stove below. Once the fire was going good you would push in the rod to close off the large center flue forcing the heated air into the 8 smaller tubes around the edge. A lot more heat would be given off as a result before it finally made its way up and out the main chimney or stovepipe. Please check the pics to see what you get. It measures 8 1/4" high and is in very good condition with only minor marks hear and there, there is a black nail being used for the pivot pin on the top door, I believe that's a replacement. This is for a 1920s small electric toy stove. There is a small oval red label that says Elastic in Cliffs? Iplugged the stove in and both ceramic heating elements with wire coils are working. Stove measures 14'wide 10 3/4' tall and 6 3/4' deep. Stove is metal or tin and painted black. Mostly the paint condition is good but there are some surface spots of rust present. All 4 silver metal legs have oxidation and the far right leg at rear has some minor bending. Electric cord is intact very dry and has some fraying at rear were it goes into the machine. Several of Detroit stoves are pictured in Fords book. I found a receipt for the restoration of this stove from several years ago and it was over $1400. Understandable as it is perfect and very fine work. I can really find nothing to criticize on this piece. Very detailed working parts and incised decoration. Up for auction is this lovely RARE Antique Uncle Sam Jr. Cast Iron Miniature Cook Stove by Abendroth Bros. This was found in an Estate Sale the elderly gentleman said that it belonged to his mother when she was a little girl and that she has used it to cook on before. Abendroth Brothers is a foundry of Port Chester. NY and made full size stoves as well as at least four different sizes of the Uncle Sam Jr. stoves. These toy or sample stoves were highly detailed and fully functional. This measures approximately 19 3/4" wide with the left side shelf included x 11" deep x 14" tall. This is extremely heavy weighing 53 lbs. The lower right front door is missing along with the right side shelf, a knob under the right side shelf and 2 stove covers on top. The stove is called a coal model(circa 1940's)believe this was the last year that The Wrought Iron Company in St. Louis made this stove. This is a superb piece of craftsmanship. Of course. As any true salesman sample, this is made to scale of the actual product. The Wrought Iron Company used door to door salesman to get his product to the new owners. The stove is constructed of iron, chrome, steel and porcelain finish on much of the stove. Everything is still present. Not for sure if the"lift" came with the sample, but, there is not one present. This is a small heavy cast iron and steel salesman sample of the Novelty Furnace No. 20 Model coal stove from Abram Cox Stove Co. The front of the stove has embossed writing on it and working opening doors. The front has patent dates of May 26. 1874 and June 5, 1881. The top opening door reads, Novelty No. 20 Furnace" on it. Below that is the"Abram Cox Stove Co. name and it shows that they were out of New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago. The second opening door reads, Clinker Door" on it.
