This interesting kitchen collectible was used for lifting the lids from a coal/wood stove. It has a spiral wire handle that forms a hook at the end for hanging. See pictures. NOTE: The stove lid lifter is usually an iron device. Often nickel- plated. With a flattened hook at one end for lifting the iron stove lids/plates from the stove or range top.
