4 PIECES CAST IRON STOVE LIDS SPACER AND BASE
Up for auction are these cast iron stove parts. They are getting hard to find. I have no way of knowing age or what stove they came from or if they are supposed to go together. They vary from fairly smooth to roughly rust pitted. They will obviously show wear and some rust. They are all solid and after a good cleaning would be ready for use. NOTICE 2nd picture one lid is cracked and the other has a hole worn through where handle goes. Still solid functional pieces. Base measures 20 x 11.5. Lids measure 8.25 in diameter. Figure all parts will have some wobble to them. All being sold as is. These are antique cast iron pieces that need to be cleaned and treated to your specifications. The Favorite Stove Company Antique Base Burner Parlor Stove The Big One
This is the largest model of the base burner that the Favorite Stove Company made(the 16 inch"fire pot" It stands about 6 feet tall when setting on it's base. I have the cast iron 6 inch elbow that goes on the back of it also that goes with it and also a nice curved form nickel lid lifter for the hot plate on the back of this parlor stove. Due to it's weight. It is not very easy to move it around to get more pictures but I used to use this stove to burn wood although it was originally made to burn coal of course. All of the 48 mica windows are intact on both sides and the front. I bought this old parlor stove in 1969 and have owned it since then. This is a rare antique solid cast iron wood or coal base burner parlor stove called"Art Garland" No 33. It was made by Michigan Stove Co. Detroit, Chicago, Buffalo, New York City. It is in beautiful restored condition and is ready to use. This stove has a solid cast iron body with doors on the sides as well as the front with all new high quality rainbow mica windows for a total of 110 for viewing the fire. There is a swing top with the original small knob on it for lifting and swinging it to the side(the small knob, very solid, has two small splits) the only very small flaw in this stove. There are no breaks, welds or repairs. It has a rear cook plate and has the original elbow for flue with a very decorative cap on it. There is a large green tile in great condition very clean no breaks in the center of the stove and 6 medallions ... more23karat gold plated. There are also 16 original daisy nuts 23 karat gold plated also. There are all brass hinge pins and all new nickel plate. Hard To Find Antique Cast Iron Stove Base / Stand
Description– This is a very nice and hard to find antique cast iron stove base. It could also be used as a coffee table or display stand as well. It is very ornate with floral/ scroll work. It is a rectangle shape base that measures approx. 39" long x 26” wide and 13" high. The opening on top is 35" long by 21.5” wide. Total weight is a heavy 45 LBS. The Stove Base you’ll be bidding on/buying does not include the top metal piece. Please enlarge the photos as they are part of the description Condition and/or Issues– There is light surface rust that a wire brush will quickly clean up. I quickly wire brushed one(1) side. And one(1) leg, to give you an idea of what it looks like under the surface rust(see photo#2) It turns out beautiful! Other than the two issues mentioned below. The base is in very good condition. There are NO ... moreother cracks. Chips, or signs of previous repairs. It sits flat with no wobble. Issue 1. There is about a 6” crack in one of the sides. Fix: A spot weld on the inside would take care of that and it would not be visible from the outside. Issue 2. There is a small wedge shape piece of cast iron missing on the top of one of the legs(see photo) Height wise it ranges from 1” down to nothing and it.t runs about 2.5” Fix: You could cut a piece of metal. The white bakelite housing is bright white and shiny- the bottom sides of these bakelite plastic housings are most always crack and broken at the 2 attaching screw holes to the chrome base. We alway repair these as we did with this unit. We epoxy weld the piece with new bolts, nuts and washers. We epoxy the washers to the inner side to help reinforce the case. Everything is cast iron except the valve units which are brass. The handles are wood. Which I've never seen before on such a unit. The highly raised letter graphics are excellent as pictured. The larger letters have to be about 3/16" raised from the main surface. Both of the top corners have what appears to be possibly a crown and then inside that crown is the words, JEWEL STOVES and RANGES" The arched decorative feet are all fine. I find no breaks, cracks or repairs anywhere. It is in excellent condition for it's years. Because of the wood handles I would guess this to possibly be from the mid to later 1800's. Is a portion of a base to a stove, it has two curved legs with nice filigrie design and two connector portions, the legs are not marked but the connectors are marked 151 CLIP, connected with original hardware small square nut and bold, the stove legs are 5.5" tall 8" at widest portion 4" in depth, the connector pieces are 5.5" across 4.5" from hardware pieces, one of the bolts is slightly bent, all have surface rust, a nice group for a restoration project or for a collection. One hinge on front door needs repair(see pic) One skirt trim needs repair as does tab on front skirt trim with Round Oak name(see pic)Has ash bin and cast iron insets to protect fire box. stove appears to be all intact. My research came up with the date of 1915. So in a couple of months it will be 100 years old. Ready for restoration. You need to come and get this item d/t weight. This is a very Rare and sought after Germer N06 Radiant Home Base Burner coal burning stove. Stamped 1897. The stove was restored by a local vintage stove company in 1993. The stove was then stored in a Garage for 22 years unused. It was in such good condition I thought it was a reproduction, after additional research I found this is the real deal. Mica, great shape Iron, and paint fantastic, bit dusty from sitting. Please Note; top and bottom where split for transport, will need to be resealed prior to use. Nickel Plate shiny, but may have lost a bit of luster after sitting 22 years. I found only 3 examples of this model online. one on Pinrest for $11,500, another for $8500, and the last not for sale but being restored for the tune of about 7k.
