Old Cook Stove Grate Shaker and Stove Lid Lifter Cast Iron OLD
Here are two old cast iron items that were used in the old cook stoves. Heaters or parlor heaters. First is the lifter that was used to lift the round metal plates from the top of the cook stoves or heaters. It measures about 8 1/4 inches long and does have some rust and wear from age and use, but nothing is broken and it can still be used today. There is no makers mark on it. Next is the shaker to shake the ashes down from the grates. It too shows wear from age, but nothing broken off and it also is ready to be used again. The hole that goes into the grate is rectangle in shape, it measures about 7/8 of an inch by about 3/4 an inch, and is about an inch deep. It has a curved handle. You are bidding on what I believe is a combination lid lifter and coal grate shaker. It was hand forged and measures 10-3/4" overall and the lifter section is 1/2" wide. The socket end sizes are 5/8" at the square end and approximately 15/16" at the hex end. If you know this item to be other than what I described. Please let me know.
