Mostly cast iron with a tin chimney that has a nice ... morenickel-plated cast iron frame for the mica window. This frame is embossed"The Brightest And Best" I see no other marker's mark. I took the first set of photos outside in natural light and frigid temperatures(6 degrees) When I came inside I realized 30 seconds with super fine steel wool would clean the nickel plating easily. So the photos taken inside are what it looks like now. With just a little cleaning. I leave the decision of whether or not to continue cleaning to the new owner. Much of the original black paint remains on the cast iron pieces. There is surface rust where it is missing. I see no sign that the tin chimney was ever painted. The mica window is badly cracked as shown. I plan to put a cloth inside for shipping. With bubble wrap around the pieces. Wick turner moves as it should and the wick extends well into the bottom of the tank. Tank is clean inside. I see no cracks or chips so I see no reason why this wouldn't work with some kerosene. I believe the fuel cap to be original- neither it or the filler neck is threaded. Please enlarge my photos for a close look. Ask any questions before bidding. This is a great addition to your collection. Old antique cast iron stove top sad iron heater plate. Marked underneath pat. apl'd for and numeral 9. No breaks or cracks. Nice smooth top surface. It is designed to sit on top of a cast iron cook stove. The heater sets on three small legs. As the heat from the cook stove rises it hits the fins on the bottom of the heater and this circulates the heat to the surface of the sad iron heater top. The fins prevented the sad iron heater or the sad irons themselves from becomming to hot and warping from the direct heat of the cook stove. Questions always welcomed. Vintage Single Sad Iron Stove Cast Iron Heater Oil or Kerosene
Up for auction is a vintage Lindemann and Hoverson sad iron. this company was based out of Millwaaukee Wisconsin. There is some rusting but it is still in good condition. It has all it's parts including an original wick. The measurements are: 8 inches high by 3 inches wide and 5 inches long. This is a nice old group of 4 cast iron wood or coal burner grates. They are 3 3/4" tall. The back is 2" wide, front is 1 1/2" wide at the top and about 1 1/4" wide at the bottom. Several of these form a circle in the burner area, they are in great shape, no chips or cracks. This looks good. Items as pictured. I have other vintage items. This bid is for a great antique Windsor No.25 stove top water heater. Made of cast iron with a copper coil inside. This was made to sit on top of a wood stove or other heat source to heat the water that would be in the tank usually close by. As the heat would rise it would heat the water in the coil and make it circulate though the tank. There is one small chip on the back side of the cap rim. This auction is for a very rare Union stove works Grand No 6 stove Comes with everything shown in the photo. This stove is simply AMAZING! I have never seen anything even close to this nice from the Union Stove Works company. Or any stove company for that matter. After much research I have discovered that this is a sad iron stove. A sad Iron is a solid iron.well iron that you would have to heat up in some manner prior to using it. That is where this stove comes in. Notice the iron rust"stains" on the top. They are from a sad iron. The top and bottom are brass. This stove was obviously a high end product ... moreback in the day. It has 18"gemstones" on the front. And it is very ornately decorated with fine details. I do not claim that they are actually precious gemstones* There is a serial# on the copper tag on the side. It is 15885. There is some obvious rust on the grate and the insides of the stove. There is also some rust on the front and back side of the stove. I am sure that this stove will need some repairs and a cleaning before it could be used again. I will leave that up to the buyer. There is a crack on the left bottom front side. It starts at the left bottom edge of the door opening and continues to the bottom edge of the stove. RARE Antique Metal Cast Iron Myers Stove Golden Star No 4 Sad Iron Heater 1882
I have searched the last 10 years of eBay data and cannot find another example of the stove. So to say it's unique is probably an understatement! It is constructed out of cast-iron with the wick and risers constructed out of a lighter metal. The front of the stove reads"Myers. Osborne& CO. NO 4 GOLDEN STAR 1882" With one side at the base reading"CHICAGO, ILL. And the other side reads"CLEVELAND, O. The dimensions are at the base it is 18" wide by 13" Tall by 14" deep. The flat iron platform is 16-1/2" wide by 10-1/4" deep. I did not see any cracks in the casting anywhere. The tin metal that goes around the top of the stove has been replaced at some point and it does have some corrosion damage along the bottom. The wick flues have also been replaced at some point with a newer tin metal. The ... morefront glass windows have been replaced with plastic so this unit has been used for display only recently. Here is a small antique gas porcelain space heater with cast iron feet. I think it was originally the green color. was painted brown, which i am sure can be removed, or the original was the black on the side, i just am not sure. Of course there are some nics on the porcelain in a few spots. Cute little stove. It is about 13 1/2 inches tall& 6 1/2 across. There is a plate on the side, which probably has the maker on it, which is covered up with paint.

This auction is for a cast iron kerosene sad iron heater. It has 2 burners. On the front it says. Union. On the top of the fuel tank it says, Gardner, Mass, USA& C.O. G. S. Co. In front middle of the burners it says 2-CR and on the left it says 20 and on the right it says UL. Then on top of the burner in the front. It says 19-Ul(I think) These types of stoves were available starting in the 1880s. One advantage was you didn’t have to heat your big stove and heat up the whole house. When you iron with a sad iron you use a hot one while another is heating up. The front of each unit has a mica window to see the flame. They slide sideways. There are wicks in the burners although they do not turn. I assume they need cleaning with penetrating oil because they haven’t been used in a long time. These heaters were used to keep the sad irons hot enough to press the family's clothing. The wide wick generated heat to the entire bottom of the iron, thus heating it quickly. The total unit is 9" tall; the base reservoir is by 6" wide by 4" deep. The oil reservoir is entirely cast iron which was painted black. There is a brass knob on the side of the base for adjusting the height of the wick. It works smoothly and easily. The wick is still there. The chimney is metal with a cast iron burner on top. It is attached to the reservoir base by hinges on the front side; and it can be removed completely. Rare Antique Cast Iron Wood Burning Stove and Heater
You are bidding on an Antique Cast Iron Stove. This is truly a great piece and beautiful to look at. As you can see in the pics. I have burned some wood inside this to make sure it works as good as it did in its prime. I am selling this as an antique, and I have not made any modifications to it since I have had it. I do notice that on the"wings" that there have been screws replaced and on the silver faceplate, but does not affect the look of it. As you can see, the top does remove and the bottom does unscrew, however, time has taken a toll on some of the pieces. The center piece that looks like a spring door needs to be re-welded or brazed to the frame again. The base has also suffered a stress crack and a few fracture lines which will also need to be mended. Overall though, this stands roughly 4+ feet and is beautiful. Antique Double Burner Cast Iron & Metal Portable Stove/Heater Railroad Hunting
Rare find from an Eastern Shore of Maryland Estate with this early 1900/late 1800 cast iron and metal double burner heater and stove. While these pieces were mostly seen traveling the early rails in caboose cars for the train workers to keep warm and fix meals they found a ready home with the early hunt camps and duck blinds. Easy to move and run on kerosene they were especially welcome in the early morning hours in the duck and goose blinds for warmth and keeping the coffee pot going. This aged survivor is believed to have been part of the early duck hunting camps that were and still are popular today in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This one is cast with“Gardner Mass. The factory made a number for sale under a few different names and while this one might have sported a label it’s long gone to time. It does still have what appears to be ... morethe original wick and while it appears to be missing the cap. Cork plugs where the factory installed caps. This piece still sports the original mica windows for burners but as the pictures show the mica has scratches and cracks. The cast iron base is intact with no cracks or chips and the metal top in solid without the heavy signs of wear and rust common to the remains that show up. All parts still function with the wick and the knobs turn easy moving the wick up or down. There is one repair where the window to one burner is installed with a modern screw and nut as you see in the pictures. Antique Cleveland Co Kerosene Sad Flat Iron Cast Iron Heater Stove burner 1800s
Hi and welcome! This old antique was literally just dug out of a barn. Along with many other primitive and antique finds that my daughters and I will be selling in the next few weeks. This is by Cleveland FDY CO, dates to the 1800s was used for heating sad/flat irons. It stands about 9 and 1/4" tall, by 6 and 1/2" by 5" Has the glass window still intact. It is dirty and will need cleaned, it has not had a single thing done to it in YEARS, but would be a great addition to any antique/ primitive collection.You are buying it as is, uncleaned and in the found condition. VINTAGE CAST IRON FIRE BRICK WOODFIRE STOVE OVEN TAIWAN ANTIQUE RARE HEATER VTG
NO SHIPPING ON THIS ITEM YOU MUST PICK THIS UP IN PERSON. This fine collectable is located on the west coast in Washington state near Seattle. Here I have a vintage cast iron wood stove with fire brick insert-linning. The oven is fully functional and will make a great decorative statement ina shop or in your home. This fine collectable brings the charm of a bygone era into your home. The stove measures: 31" to the top. 38" to the top if you include the finial. The sotve has a width of 26 1/2" across at the pedastool and 21" at the center of the stove. The depth of the stove is 16" and the interior of the stove can accommodate up to a 18" fire log. The chimmney fluet opening is oval in shape and measures 7" x 3" The stove has two dampers and has to trap doors for loading fire wood. Also of note the front ... moredoor has the original mica windows in place and the top of the oven has the burner pannels that you would use to boil a kettle or heat a frying pan. There is nickle colored metal accents on the top. The back panel states that the stove is crafted in Taiwan. Chimmeny pipe is not included. Also of note. This oven predates certifications and is not certified for indoor use however it could be enjoyed in a garage or out building as it is linned with firebricks. You would want to consult a fire expert prior to using this indoors. This is available for pickup in Arlington WA on the West coast. You will need a truck or van to transport the stove. Vintage Three Chamber Cast Iron Heater/Stove No 30 Samuel S. Utter
This is a Samuel S. Utter No. 30 heater/stove. Kerosene, I believe, with three burners/chambers. I think these were called Sad Iron Stoves or Sad Iron Heaters. The wicks appear to be there, maybe not in the best of condition. I did not try to crank the wicks. The adjustment knob looks to have a patent date of July 2, 1889. I found no cracks or breaks and it appears to be all there, but I won't swear to it. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. I also did not put fuel in the tank to see if it will light. There may be imperfections that I did not see. Again, please look at the pictures before bidding. The heater is sold as-is. It weighs nearly 15 pounds as it sits, so I am estimating the total weight after packing to be about 18 pounds.

This was found in a clients basement and they were going to scrap it so I bought it. I thought that it was beautiful and needed a new life so I saved it and I know that someone will appreciate it's rustic, industrial beauty like I do. The past owners had added wheels to the bottom and some pipes to the back which led me to believe that they might have tried to make something out of her but I never asked so I am selling her as is. Here we have an Antique Dual Burner Sad Iron Heater/Kerosene Stove. I believe this item is from the late 1800's. This stove is in very good condition. It appears to be complete and in tact. Except for one of the burner screens is missing. There is no damage to the cast iron bottom/tank or to the metal stove itself. The 2 burner dials move the wicks up and down but the right dial is sticky/hard to turn. The right view window covering is flimsy. The fill cap for the tank will need a new cork insert in order to seal properly. I Have NOT Tested This Item. Now that I've beat up the description of my stove. Let me clarify. This Is A Really NICE Old Piece! Especially when you take into consideration it's about 125 years old. The stove measures 8 1/2" tall by 5 3/4" squared and weighs about 5 lbs. Vintage Pot Belly Stove Cast Iron Printed on the Front is: U.S. Army Cannon Heater No. 18 The stove is about 46" tall. The footprint to the edges of the feet is 26" x 26" The stove is in good condition. The grate is missing from the bottom of the stove. The pin for the upper front door needs to be replaced. The is a 4" crack on the edge of the top which shouldn't affect functionality. There are the usual surface rust. Dings and scratches and missing paint from age and use. I don't see any flaws that would prevent it from being used. This item is being sold for Local Pick-up Only. Minor color variation can occur due to individual browser settings.
