ANTIQUE GLASS FUEL KEROSENE CONTAINER DRIPPER JAR OIL STOVE METAL SPRING LID
This old. Glass, fuel jar was probably used as a reservoir to supply kerosene to a cook stove. Or maybe an antique heat stove. It has a spring loaded valve that still works perfectly- and features a metal band around the middle of the jar that held the iron bail. Or handle. CONDITION is VERY GOOD- no cracks or damage to the glass- just wear from use( circa early 1900s) The bottom exhibits some stretched glass residue. A pontil mark, from when it was originally blown. These are NOT cracks, clearly they stand out in relief, little ridges that can be seen and detected with the fingernail. The concentric rings on the bottom provides an interesting manufacturing design. All original. Payment must be received within FIVE DAYS of the end of the auction. This fantastic jug has stood the test of time with it's upmost great condition in it's near 100th year of existence, it has managed to stay in one piece, unbroken, no cracks and it's perfect iron rim and handle. It originates from the old rocky mountains of Colorado, living it's life in a very secluded cabin home from it's beginning to now. Greetings! For your consideration: A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE OWENS-ILLINOIS GLASS KEROSENE FUEL DRIPPER BOTTLE JUG w/ BAIL AND HANDLE! A wonderful estate find. This bottle is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks and all hardware intact. The metal dripper, bail and handle do have some rust typical with age, but are still firmly attached and look great. The dripper easily screws on and off the bottle, and is in great condition; the spring mechanism functions as well. The bottom of the bottle is beautifully embossed- we do not often come across bottles like this one! From our research we discovered that this bottle was made by the Owens-Illinois glass company. We are unsure of the year it was produced, though we have narrowed it down to be between 1929 and 1957. The number 7 on the bottom(to the left of the diamond) signifies that ... morethis bottle was made in Alton, Illinois. This is an Owens Illinois Stove Dripper kerosene glass bottle Plunger with a hinged handle. The bottle measures approximately 17" high and the bottom is approximately 7 1/2" in diameter. The top is quite rusty as you can see in the pictures. The marks on the bottom are an"I" in a diamond over an"O" or oval. The numbers are 7 3 7 around the mark. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY(KALAMAZOO. MICHIGAN) You are bidding on a Antique New Perfection Kerosene Stove with the Glass Dripper Jar. It measures 30" x 17" x 31 4/8" The glass dripper jar has a patent date of 1919 and was made by The Cleveland Metal Products Co. That company became New Perfection Co in 1925. So based on that and reading some history of the company. we think the stove was from the 1920's to 1930's. It does have some condition issues so please see pictures and ask any questions you might have. The middle shelf does have some holes through the metal from rust.see picture 5. Besides we know its missing the top grates we do not know if anything else is missing or not. The glass dripper jar does have scratches and hazing.
